when wind waker got released all everyone comlained about was the cel shaded graphics and i did too but when i played it i couldn't put it down, however, that had a unique gameplay to it, nintendo seems to be watering down these newere zelda titles(no pun intended) with their new "casual gamer" push toward the gaming franchise. they need to get back on track(again no pun intended) or they're gonna fall hard to sony and microsoft who are still with the hardcore gamers

thats tricky. Some pepole say Hyrule is the entired world in the Zelda universe. Other say Hyrule is onely one kingdom in the world. So it might be somewere else in the world, or its not a sequel to wind waker/phantom hourglass after all.

I think the reason they keep using the whole cell shading thing, is because it looks better on the DS. I don't think a realistically designed Zelda game could look right on those tiny of screens. And when you really think about it, even the first games had that cartoony look, rather than drawn out realistically.

ok phantom hourglass and windwaker were great, but i'm getting sick of toon link. he kicks ass, we know. we get the point. but i want a new, fresher, visually pleasing charater developed, emotional, fierce Link. like the twilight princess Link, he was great and gave the series a new, bolder and improved look. it also made me a hardcore fan (not that i wasn't before. Twilight Princess just made me love LoZ that much more) why don't they make a twilight princess sequel? i would preorder it now :)

@mindfreakpro Well, afaik they keep releasing Zelda games in two tides - one with toon link and one with the grown-up link. And the grown-up link games are "usually" not for the handheld consoles, which makes their development time notably longer. Also yes, the toon link series seem to be more inovative and receive more love and the grown-up link series seem to stay more true to the roots of the series, may be only my impression, thou.

I can't say I'm excited to get this. It doesn't seem like a great game. I was hoping for a Wii/Gamecube game again, but there are rumors of the Ocarina of Time remake, which I am very excited to hear about again. The Announcement was made in April 5th and no one has posted anything yet, I just hope it'll have some pretty fancy graphics and new things. You haven heard? All you need to know is that they are not done by Nintendo. Look up Legend of Zelda: Faces of evil or Hotel Mario. I think there are some other ones as well. Basically poorly animated (flash quality) cut scenes with voice acting. Link talks as well.

my only concern is how the train will turn out, like if it will be too limited in roaming around. one thing i simply can't wait to see is the main villain. i see there's a new item (there are probably more) and Tetra becomes Zelda again. i also can't wait to control the Phantoms. after the last boss in Phantom Hourglass died, did the Phantoms lose there evil souls or something? maybe they're just weaker and can be controlled?

I really don't think its the fans fault. If you think about it this isn't even Nintendo's priority game. They're still deep in development on the new zelda wii, which is taking them longer than most other zelda's. I stuck with Nintendo forever.

From the time I got an NES when I was 4, to buying the Wii as soon as I got my paycheck, I tried to stick by it, but Nintendo is always doing the same. The number of quality games for the Wii is so few compared to the amount of mediocre games, that I'm actually starting to envy Xbox/Sony owners. I love my DS, but most of the games I'm playing are 3rd party. Mario vs Donkey Kong 2? Sorry, I'm going to go play Dragon Quest instead.

First off: It's Zelda. We've been waiting two years. Besides, they can't make it worse than the CD-I games, right? Plus the game overall looks very well done(even the train). I'm very excited and am planning on preordering it as soon as I scrape together enough rupees. I don't think it will be DSi only; they don't show anything functionally different; its probably just for promotion. The v-neck has me concerned though. The dungeons and boss look a really good! EXCITEMENT!!!

I say the DS Zelda games are never that good and I guess they couldn't come up with anything else unique to go with the Stylus and screen for the DS so they added a train for you to control with the stylus. But you only get to ride the train in-between quests. The rest of the game is (sort-of) normal Zelda game-play. But I doubt this game will be very popular when it comes out.
