  • The 13" x 6" MPX snares seem to have a lot less of a ringing after-tone to them than the 14" x 5.5" ones, is there any obvious reason for this? I'm not greatly clued up on snares so wouldn't know if I've just said something really obvious or not.

  • @Kart00nHead Yes, the narrower the diameter, at least on snare drums, the less low end resonance. Generally birch drums with have less resonance than say a Maple or metal drum. This drum in-particular, is going to be a combination of tuning, birch, and the selection of drum heads it has more than just size alone. 13" drums tend to be more focused with a sharp, articulated response.
