if you havent figured it out yet, check your IAT and ECT. also if your heater core is clogged/blocked, this can cause the ECT to read temps lower than it should, causing a higher idle (don't ask how i know)
86 didnt have a choke.And you either need to clean or replace your IAC valve(idle air control)and gasket.They get carboned up over time and cause it to stick.86 was the first year for fuel injection.
