@Kenjige3 dude.... that's not the story plot at all.... you're an Angel (Celestrian) from a place called the Observatory where angels watch and protect mortals below. Your job is to help out mortals. When this is achieved, Yggdrasil (big tree thingy) brears fruit. Then the Observatory is attacked and you fall off (the fruit fall off too) and when you wake up your wings and halo are missing. You basically are on a quest to get your wings back but ultimately you end up saving the world.

@Watermellin they get kaboom, kazing, and they are nearly as good in healing as a priest. think about it as half-priest and half-mage.

although the priest gets omniheal, it takes 128 mp to cast so its a bit of a waste cause if you finish the sage quest chain youll get an ability that makes you cast 2 spells in a round

your hero doesnt have to be a mistrel, later in the game youll be able to change

vocation(sages get a spell so they can do it too)

i personnaly have:A sage, a Warrior, a paladin and a priest.

sage and paladin can be unlocked, but the sage can only be unlocked when youve almost finished the game

my lvls are: sage:52 paladin:75 warrior:75 priest:55

when my sage is high enough, ill switch my priest for another one.

I like Dragon Quest IX. Its the First Dragon Quest game I have ever played! I like how they set up the Battle Thing. I mean theres 2 or 4 Monsters infront of you. And Its just you or some Partner(s) Infront of that Monster, and you actually get to pick a Type of move. Do you get what I mean? Im past the Wight Knight part..... i ve left DQ VIII due PS2 due to its almost continouus random battles.I couldnt wander more than just a few seconds and...a random battle appeared.With great relieve i ve learned that the random battles are over.Now you will fight all the enemies you CAN see on the map meaning that i am buying this great game.

the final fantasy series was always the best in the genre. i suggest you try the games before comparing them to others.

@anseurs First of all, I'M A GENIUS(Metaphorically speaking). I take Honors and AP classes, and I love watching shows like Law and Order, House, CSI, etc. So I DO have the "intelligence" needed for games like FF as you say.

I've played FF 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, and Legend 2 and 3. The only one I've beaten out of all of them is Legend 2. Although I like 7 and 8(More than 7) most, I keep losing interest at some point in all of the games. I don't want to, but it happens.

but it's not the strategy/planning/thought i was thinking of, i mean.. well, 'thought' of course, firstly you must be able to really get into the game and understand the characters etcetera, an hour into FFIX and you should be totally stuck.. otherwise something's wrong!

@anseurs I think It's because of the fact that there's too much going on in FF games that I lose interest...but that doesn't make me "dumb" or "unintelligent." I can understand everything in the games, but I PREFER things to be a little more simple.

I would like to meet your granny, since we watch the same shows! I'm an old-fashioned person anyway. I would prefer to live in the Medieval or Renaissance periods. I also watch cartoons, Food Network, WWE, Mythbusters, History Channel, etc. Ha.
