eddie did a song on JJJ (a radio station) one day it was called "why gays dont get married" or something along those lines....it was so funny but i cant seem to find it. If anyone knows it can you please reply with the correct name or a link. Thanks.

I can certainly understand why some people would be offended by this...but I love it. Firstly for that particular phrase 'some of my best friends...' I hear it all the time. It's like 'no offence, but..' or 'im not racist, but...'.

And this raises SO many issues. Of underlying racism, of disadvantage, ignorance, and also the ridiculous idea that you're only "really" Aboriginal if you adhere to the popular idea of what Aboriginal cultures are.

I love that it makes people so uncomfortable.

As funny as it is, it is also perhaps one of the most searing indictments of racism, disenfranchisement and cultural bias against aboriginal people I have ever seen. It did more than a dozen tomes. And b/c some of these conditions and views (think America and American Indians) I see his audiences looking VERY uncomfortable if entertained.

What makes the song so funny/incisive and biting is the immediate realization that none of these things could actually be true and none of the positive things (such as their appearance or culture) are seen as positive or are made into "primitive" or less than.

my white friends make a fuss they wish the were indigenous there jealous of their delicate hands their perfect teeth and permanent tan they wish they were athletic they wish they were smart they wish they had great taste in contemporary art they wish there spiritual life weren't so small not like my friends who are aboriginal we go to the opera contemporary dance we spend our holidays in regional France so busy having a hell of a time so grateful that these friends are mine
