  • aweosme!! could you please do a tutorial on roans?? i need t oknow how!!

  • What Dremel Bit did you use to saw off the mane? Also can you do a video on how you actually sculpt manes & tails? How do you get a wire support in the body for a tail?

  • @illuminatedface I'm not sure what this exact bit is called, there are plenty of different bits that work though. I'm still trying to figure out a good way to sculpt manes and tails, I'll make a video once I find a good way. And for the wire tail I dremel a hole the thickness of the wire I'm using where the horse's tailbone would be and glue it in with super glue.

  • @SaturnineStudios Thanks for the reply, Also what do you use to bulk your wire up before sculpting the tail? Thanks

  • @illuminatedface I usually wrap my main tail wire with a thinner wire to keep the clay from slipping off. Sometimes I use the apoxie and sculpt out the basic shape of the tail, then when that's dry sculpt in the hairs and detail.

  • I cant wait for the tut. 3 painting.!!!

  • its very hard 4 me 2 costimize my breyers i tried once (just by painting) but i turned out reilly ugly)

  • Yes, it is very hard! I'm just a beginner myself, but I find that I improve with each horse I paint. It also helps to check out books or websites, or even videos here on YouTUBE for tips. As painful as it is now, you'll feel better once you get the hang of it. ^_^

  • thx 4 the advice

i guess i will try again

(ill make sure 2 watch ur vids

  • Breyers arent very easy to paint, I find. I think the schleich horses are better, as they are cheaper and better to paint.

  • i was wondering what breed are you going to make the poor thing ?

  • A percheron, he has ears and a tail now and just needs to be painted

  • cool i love perchies !its good that he has that now i cant wait to see him finished ! anyway how is the 3rd tatourial comming along ?

  • ayh yhe weather was bad this morning

  • Thanks for all the tutorials. I have some stablemates upstairs that I have been thinking about abusing into something amazing but I have been too terrified to do it because I know nothing about customizing. I think it would be really nice to make a custom of my mom's horse. She'd really love that.

So, thanks for giving me the courage to do it. And the know-how.

P.S. Some of the OLD stablemates have a ton of seems too. xD

  • Did you get rid of the ears? =S

  • I wish you could teach me!!! I really enjoy painting but Im not aloud to use the dremil and I cant find where the hec to buy apoxie clay at!!

  • I'm planning on doing a real repositioning tutorial after I finish my painting one. You have to buy the Apoxie sculpt online, I've never seen it for sale in stores.

  • I've always wanted to try this! I think I'm going to try, now that I have a few stablemates. I'm pretty scared lol.
