Bought a relic guitar once, sent it back with a rude note and demanded a refund. "This fucking thing is covered in scratches and smells like cigarettes! Never been treated so shabbily, you hucksters."
Hey, could some one answer this? I have an SG and want to install a mastro vibrola on it, but I was wondering. I've heard it hurts tone and stuff, is that true? Thanks to anyone who answers
@Zas379 Well, you definitely can't do radical bends, but a bit of shimmy, sure. Any guitar that goes out of tune needs a graphite nut, and string tree rollers (for a strat). That's really where most problems happen.
@dentpopcan mostly no for you can find a guitar with similar sound and comfort for less but most of the price comes from the fact that its up to robby kreigers specs ... if you have the exact same taste as robby then the guitar is worth it ... it all depends if your willing to pay
from second one...00:1...i knew i was gonna dig this video..just by the sight of the SG alone!! great playing ..nice jazzy vibe..i could listen to this for hours...awesome.
@fishenelmar Just buy a gibson sg standard, switch the pickups to 57 classics, and forget the tremolo. Nobody uses it much anyway. Or get a '61 reissue and the 57 classics are already installed. You would then have the same guitar as is played in this video at about half the price. Maybe less. It's an SG for crying out loud! The artist's name is bling, so they can charge more. Don't make it play better, or worse. That's up to you, the player. Bonus, you don't have to kill anyone.
@ALBERTKING901 yeah, one thing is looking for the sound... but still id love to have the guitar signed by krieger. i play in a doors tribute band in Mexico and some of the songs krieger did live, such as "unkown soldier" sound better played with tremolo
@ALBERTKING901 i think this is a custom shop guitar, which is a lot better quality than the standard or '61 reissue. i played some custom shop historic les pauls that made every les paul standard i've ever played seem like a piece of crap in comparison. however, if a historic SG is cheaper (which also has the maestro, i believe) than the robby krieger model then there's not really any reason to go for the signature model imo.
@fenderpro100 Could you be specific about the differences between the custom shop version and the 61reissue SG or standard SG. I have always wondered what the differences are as I have owned severa Gibson models though none are custom shop. Always ready to augment my knowledge.
Are there any guitars you can't make sound fantastic? I tend to favour your Teles but this sounds fantastic. Greg, you really have the ability to make any guitar you touch sound like "Gregor Hilden's Tone"
Play some AC/DC on that thing!

@Zas3I It's just a bent piece of metal. If you think it's like a Fender or even Bigsby tremelo you'll be disappointed.

@tacomadc I know what it is, I was just wondering how it effects tuning.

I think that SG is as good as a Les Paul... sometimes a SG is better because it has a better sound when playing rock

custom shop = "best" wood quality, they are handmade, these guitars just sound killer - its amazing-i have one and this year i´m going to buy my 2.
just take the time, go to a guitarstore, play some CS-guitars
its hard to explain, but i guess your going to feel the "magic" which comes with those guitars
also try the fender cs relic´s ... they really sound better then the normal fender cs guitars (less vinish -> the guitar can "breeth")
sorry for my bad english :D
if you have question, ask^^

You make the SG sound almost as smooth as his brother the Les Paul but the SG is much dirtier.
