The Starliters is considered to be Joey Dee, David Brigati, Larry Vernieri (vocals), Carlton Lattimore (organ), Sam Taylor (guitar) and Willie Davis (drums). Later members of the touring group would include Eddie Brigati (David's brother), Gene Cornish, and Felix Cavaliere - three-quarters of The Young Rascals - as well as guitarist Jimmy James (later known as Jimi Hendrix) and Charles Neville of The Neville Brothers.
i had the great experience to be in this band, in 1983-1985 as the guitar player. everyone i met in the buisness are really great people and full of talent. i love this part 2 and have it in my pc recorded from the original 45, but this one sounds cleaner. it's very good sound quality for 1961. yet i still can't figure who some of the vocal parts in the song are done by.
Who sings or says the part "Oh yeah, I like it like that" as Part 2 begins? He's also at the end repeating the other two as they say "C'mon, C'mon, C'mon . . . . " after the sax solo. I've been dying to know this for 15 years!!
Yeah. I like that guy! He's crazy & nutty and he also screams at the end of Part 1 -- giving the song some extra spice, electricity, and 'jolt', if you will.
I wonder what happened to the other Starliter. I've never read or heard anything about him after year one. Don't even know his name. Thanks anyway Mr.deBrush. I'm sure some insider will know.
Any way we can get both part one and part two edited together so it plays seamlessly and you don't have to click on two different links to hear it?

You've got me there...took me two listens to actually hear it. You know what answer someone will give don't you - Joey Dee or one of the Starliters.

I've a rockabilly song where you can hear someone say 'cook that turkey' in the background... Never quite knew what he meant.
