  • One of the few singers I've listened to who really has a musical voice. He doesn't scream or yowl the way most contemporary singers do. I listen to this every now and again just to enjoy the instrument of his voice.

  • Hahaha... I read this joke in the Bloody Jack series... I think it was the fifth book ^^

  • Ha ha, I'm half Scot by blood myself, and this is absolutely hilarious! xD

  • good job man i love this song

  • Heard a guy sing this in a bar in Florida once, with his guitar, but this version by Bryan Bowers, with no instrument behind him, is the alltime version of this song. Later, Bowers came on the Dr. Demento show with an autoharp and played one called "Rufus and Beverly," an oddly appealing twisted love song. His performance almost convinced me to buy an autoharp, rather than the q-chord I bought. What i got is much lower-maintenance.

  • This was a song by Bryan Bowers, not Dr Demento. it was showcased on the Dr Demento radio program.

  • im so happy i found this song. i have been looking for this forever. i first heard it on the oldies radio.

  • charles.coulston@kctcs.edu

  • CrazyStickFigureGuy — March 08, 2008 — Another Song From The Artist Dr.Demento

Ummm, this song isnt from the artist Dr. Demento. Dr. Demento often featured it on his radio show, and has it featured on a couple of compilation albums, but the song is originally written and sung by folk legend Mike Cross. It has been covered by many other artists though, including John Denver, and Jim Stafford, and others.

  • @lawleb70 Are you sure? I thought this version was Bryan Bowers.

  • Comment removed

  • Ok.. that was adorable

  • This song always put me in a good mood no matter how bad of a day Ive had LOL

  • just wanted to say that drfual is right, this song is by North Carolina native Mike Cross. great tune though.

  • Brian Bowers does sing on this version but Mike Cross wrote the song

  • this is another funny song

  • Can I just say that this song is by Brian Bowers, NOT Dr. Demento. Dr. D often played the song on his show, but he did not write or perform it. That honor goes to Mr. Bowers.

  • @godlydaddy Brian Bowers does sing on this version but Mike Cross wrote the song

  • Dr.Demento is not the artist, check the album cover.

  • I'm with the lost soul it is the best drinking song for a Ilander

  • at least he could have put tits on the girls

  • This is too funny. ^_^ Do they still wear kilts?

  • Yes we do :P

  • I do!

  • I haven't heard this in years! It always makes me giggle! Hey, I'd take a look too!

  • bryan bowers

  • Lol, the stick figure's last expression is just priceless. You captured the feeling in that line perfectly with just a stick figure, you should feel proud of yourself! :)

  • dr. demento is the dj. dr. demento always says the name of the actual artist i just forgot his name great song though.

  • LOL this is too cute

  • It's KILT not QUILT....

  • Comment removed

  • when you are feeling down this would be a great video to watch. it made me feel better and giggle. lol

  • the actual writer of this tune is Mike Cross .and dates back to his Live and Kickin album back in the late 70's and has been covered by everyone from Bryan Bowers to the Rovers. and even the black eyed peas

  • You do know the bow goes around the guy's dick, not his kilt, right?lol. Great pictures!

  • its actually Seamus Kennedy singing this one.

  • Its Bryan Bowers, off his CD Home Home on the Road. Look it up on Amazon, it gives you a small clip. The people in the background are making the same noises.

  • I am so urked. I posted this to my FB page and FB pulled it saying it was "offensive material". OMG, the filth people post and they pull an old drinking song. People need to pull the sticks out of their butts!

  • Sounds like they are scensoring, big brother at its worst.

  • @amyisinwv my question is what's wrong with people thinking any of this is offensive? legitimately, it's a happy song, too. i dunno, not cool eh, not cool.

  • gr8

  • Bryan Bowers not Dr. Demento.

  • I just stumbled across this guy and his stuff is pretty funny! I am a singing comedian and I must say this guy is Uber funny!

  • This is Bryan Bowers and the songs is from his 1980 album "Home, home on the road".

  • Yeah, though it seems that just about anything gets attributed to Dr. Demento.

  • i meant irish rovers

  • this is aris rovers

  • The random scream after he says "birth" the first time at 1:10 cracks me up to no end.

  • Wonderful :)

  • GOD SAVE THE QUEEN!!!

  • why?

  • this is not dr. demento

  • yeah i think its aris rovers

    Great diffrence

  • dude do you know me? like at all really come on man...im half scottish and i happen to take pride in my heritage so why dont you shut your damn mouth

  • Lol..

So American... yes maybe you indeed got some good old scottish blood in your veins...

But i bet my 1200 year old swedish heritage that your passport says "American Citizen".

You are not scottish, you are as much scottish as iam a Wallonian Blacksmith.

  • i dont care about my passport dude.....im just proud that i have scottish heritage

  • @andysomethinsomethin Scots are originally Gael Celts anyway, so you might as well say you're Irish - look up the origins of Scot (Scotus). (I hit reply to wrong post first time.)

  • @WillGerard5 Naw that's bollocks, only Plastic Paddies say that to suit their political views.

The Scots are their own people, they largely descend from their native Caledonian Pictish ancestors of old Scotland (Alba) as genetic research proves with the OGAP4 haplotype code.

The first kings of Scotland were all Picts too.

  • @WillGerard5 Hehe i noticed :P

Iam just so tired of all the "Oh iam 1/10 part Scottish! That means iam scottish!"

Kinda like smoking a cigarette and call it a cigarr, sure both contains tobacco but its still not a freaking cigar.

  • @SpisadKoTunga Scots are originally Gael anyway, so you might as well say you're Irish - look up the origins of Scot (Scotus).

  • @andysomethinsomethin have a sense of humor, they aren't dissing the scottish heritage.

  • @YOOemilyx3 dude i do have a sense of humor....im pissed because they say im not scottish when im related to a scottish king

  • @andysomethinsomethin- I'm part Scottish as well, but it's just a song. Calm down, my friend. Have a laugh, huh? I don't think it's meant to offend.

  • @MissCamryn im calm but thanks a lot

  • @andysomethinsomethin Jeese Its Just A Song!

  • @andysomethinsomethin Then you should know that you should refer to yourself as being a "SCOT" not Scottish : D

  • Ignore this idiot. He only wishes He was a Scott.

  • bitch come over here and talk shit like that

  • funny stuf, stick figures nice touch

  • bellissimo!

  • Brian Bowers is the one singing this song called The Scotsman .

  • EPIC!!!!...aaaahahaha i LOVE this...and the Clan MacGregor makes it even greater...GOOD JOB!!! WEEEEEEE!!!!!

  • This is Heywood Banks, isn't it? Or he's done it, too, I think.

  • no this is Hair of the Dog from Saratoga Springs, New York.

  • The stick figures just make this funnier.

  • lol, quilt.

  • whoever sang it its still funny as heck

  • That was great. hahaha

  • I have to learn this for my band.

    Hahahaha.

  • Ugh, ignorant people make me frustrated..Dr.Demento wasn't an artist he was a host of a radio show, he only made if a little more heard. The song you are hearing is an old scottish tune that has been covered and sung by everyone from high school kids, to famous musicians. The voice you're hearing right now is that of Bryan Bowers.

  • lol dude i know what you mean but what can we do

  • THATS FUCKING DOSS!

  • its kilt, not quilt

  • good job and its yon scotsman not young I've seen other lyrics.
