@Brys9876 Andy Scott has been performing since the split, Steve Priest has just started performing again and, unless you have been on a desert island somewhere, you must know that Mick and Brian are no longer with us.
@aironatape tks, man for your reply - I´m living in denmark so maybe im not so well informed. Sorru to hear aboy Mr. Conneli and Mick - I´m a bass player and I played in a band during the 70. Fox on the Run and so on.... tks. again..
I wish this version was on the remastered version of Off The Record from '05. I heard that there was a problem with the original tape of the song. To bad.
Good comments but as I have said to other 'Tubers, it would not do for us all to like the same thing and I don't like everything the Sweet produced. Yes, Sweet lost something when Brian was asked to leave but having heard some tracks prior to Brian leaving, it was understandable why he was he was told to do so because of his very poor voice and because he could not even remember the words in some cases. I feel Sweet missed out on becoming huge and lasting for many years. Very talented and missed
"Off the record" was definitely the right way to go. But the next album "Level Headed" was completely the wrong direction. The hit single "Love is like Oxygen" covered it, but they left all the rocking stuff out (Cover girl etc.), so the album sank like a stone ... you can't switch from a Heavy-Rock Band to an mix of Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Pink Floyd with just one album ... that pisses the fans off. The next stupid move was sacking their singer Brian Conolly ... a band had committed suicide!
Level Headed was good album! But you're right, too. I will always blame Andy for being an asshole who's taking the lead in the band (half LH album is his solo work). He was the great guitarist but lost the note of rock (Cut and Waters Edge are just sweet pop/rock, not to mention his solo work in the 80's) They just couldn't survive without the big rock producer and Brian, of course!

Where is some video Air? :) Yes, as you might see I like "Laura Lee" so I added my little contribution as well. However, "Show me the way" in my opinion is just the opposite of the way they had to go. Totally wrong choice by them, where lacks the right production. Phil Wainman did try to lead them to more melodic and blues stuff but they've never listen. Shame.
I didn't mind both tracks so that is why I put them together.
We all have our opinions as to how Sweet should have progressed but what they achieved in my mind was brilliant. I'm not saying that I liked all of their tracks, because I didn't and I doubt if any Sweet fan can honestly they liked all of the tracks produced.

One of the most beautiful "slow" songs from Sweet. Sweet was, is and will ever be the most favourite Band! Andy, keep the spirit alive!!

It shows the talent that they had and what they could have achieved should they have stayed together.

Cool. Classic band from the old school days. I like the picture of the magnified record. It actually shows the record grooves.
Saved in playlist #21 "SR - SZ".
Thanks!
