  • Thanks for this excellent historical upload about these brave, heroic women ...

  • Спасибо! I enjoyed this very much. There is much more to be told about the heroic efforts of Soviet women soldiers in WW2. Was there an episode in this series about Lydia "Liliya" Litvak and other female fighter pilots? Also, women snipers like Roza Shanina made enormous contributions. The world needs to know about these heroines and the sacrifices they made in the drive to smash the Nazi war machine!

btw did you do the subs? They're good but some are unclear. If you want I'll offer suggestions

  • @thecollector89 Hi! Thanks for your good words! There are several others documentaries about women on Eastern Front. All of them are incredibly touching, since it is against common sense than men have to fight for women and war is not a place for women... but stories of women at war perfectly shows what does a "total war" mean. Women working 16hours at factories are not less heroes than those being at front.

Greek women also gave a heroic effort while supplying troops in Epirus.

  • @BitnikGr I would like to see those documentaries! Do you remember the names? Do you have links? Many Soviet films portray women's role in WW2, like Zarya zdyes tikhie (The Dawns Here are Quiet). But this is the first documentary I've seen. The interviews are really moving. I'm so glad this film was made!

  • @thecollector89 There is a great 30 minute documentary "Окопная Жизнь. Женщина на войне". But I can't find it at YT any more. Try rutube or torrents.

  • @thecollector89 Yes, I did those subs myself. I am open to all kind of general suggestions in terms how to make future subs better. But I can't change subs in already uploaded videos, since they are hard-encoded.

  • @BitnikGr If you want, next time you do something like this, send me your subs before you encode and I'll check them. I'm fluent in English and have been studying Russian for a few years now.

  • @Vanyaaynav Men who already had experience from DOSAAF Schools don't need such moral booster, apparently. But not all VDV conscripts come to service with parachute jumps experience, right?

My wife has one parachute jump and as she says women were not jumping from separate plane, neither after men. Order was mixed.

  • @Vanyaaynav It is not silly. It is a psychology. And they are not "used" in bad meaning of this word. Those women are personnel of Russian Air Borne Troops and as such they MUST do regular jumps throughout their carrier. So, when new rookies come to make their first jump, they are placed in same plane with women, which have already dozens of jumps.

Plus, for every jump everyone gets a bonus to their monthly salary.

  • Hanna was NOT the best woman pilot! She was an excellent test test pilot only...

Vasilievna Budanova and Lidya Litvyak are two Soviet women lady pilots who are officially recognized as Soviet Aces and still hold the standing records for female pilots!

  • Hanna was an exceptional test pilot but she was not an ACE many times over! These soviet lady HEROS prove that if a woman has the desire to risk her life fighting for her country she should be allowed to do so!

  • man thankks for uploading this... grat brave women... thy showed and still showing the world that women are equal or even better in some subjects than men... they are just inspirattional

  • @infirmusisdrums "they are just inspirattional" - That's very true actually! I saw one other documentary dedicated to women in Army. There was an example, that in Russian VDV troops (paratroopers), when young soldiers had to do their first jump, together with them officers were placing an already experient woman. And she was jumping first. So, man just couldn't to not jump, because if woman can... he must do it too :)

  • @BitnikGr ywah broo i really dont understand why people.. or well men.. say that the women are the weak sex.. man.. they are great en i love women..LOL.. yes.. mann as i said.. they are just inspirattional.. and of course you should know the best sniper from the russians.. ahhh se was called..."lyudmila...something" i dont really remember.. but bro those women just rock!!

  • @infirmusisdrums "weak sex" is just an expression. In peace time men must be gentleman and kind and with nobile behaviour towards women. That's because they are called as "weak sex".

  • @infirmusisdrums -

Another example was one other woman - commander of Marines company in WW II. Her soldiers were doing humanly impossible things, because she never retreated and always were going into the heart of the battle! Men were following her... It's kinda Joan of Arc effect.

  • @BitnikGr yeah man.. do you know hanna reitch!? she was the best pilot.. during the world war.2.. she was not dogfighting but she haved some steell nerves, she was the most important test pilot for the theird reich!

  • @infirmusisdrums Nope, I didn't know about Hanna Reitch. I don't know how important test pilot she was, but I don't think she can be compared to any of Night Witches who flew more than 600 real combat missions, (taking in mind that RAF pilots were sent home after 25-30 missions). Or Anna Yegorova with 277 combat missions with IL-2, which had the highest loss rate among other aviation types... and she survived several months as POW. These women hadn't only nerves of steel, but they had BALLS!!!

  • @BitnikGr she was so important because she was the one that ensured the development of the lufftwaffe most important planes such.. as the "comet" and the me 262.:P and well bro.. you are right about the hours in combat.. and about. thie steel nerves:)

  • Great Serial

    thanx for Upload :)

    5/5

  • oh man, brings tears to my eyes seeing what these women did for us and how much they sacrificed for the motherland.

  • @Hatinonthehaters Yes... When 3 teenage girls load 9tons of bombs in one single night with their bare hands it is touching.

I've googled for numbers of combat missions for crew members of B-17s and I found some memoirs speaking about 30-35 combat missions. They were also 18+ guys, but they were 10 in Flying fortress, which had 6 gunners and was flying in dense heavily protected formation. It is not even close to what those girls were doing in "rusfaners".
