I had this surgery done twice in each hand. The first time I was awake and the regional anesthesia wore off extremely fast and the anestheiolgist had trouble getting my arm and hand numb. So for the remaining surgeries I was put to sleep.
i had broke my wrist in 2 places over a month ago ended up with cts. and had my surgery 4 days ago wow do i fell the diference now. i was put to sleep
Although the "sensation" of trouble is at the wrest, the actual “seminal” cause is impingement of the median nerve around the pronator teres muscle (proximal to the elbow)!
USA medicine is ranked 54th in world, (The World Health Organization ranked the countries of the world in terms of over all health performance, and the US (was) 37th; In fairness of care, USA is ranked 54th)
i just had this done. i'm absolutely amazed how well it worked. if you are headed in this direction don't worry, it's a piece of cake. no need for sedation. you will enjoy being pain-free.
@bigoonapoona I am getting ready to have to done tomorrow morning and i am sooo nervous and scared. I then will have the other hand done in a couple of weeks after the first. Reading your post has KINDA relaxed my mind but i am still scared. Thanks for your post and words of encouragement.

@EricsKTM85xc Typically, you are not put to sleep, no. Only local anesthesia is necessary. :-)
