  • @amydanielle1027 hi - I was on paxil for A LONG TIME and it just stopped working for me but was soooo scared to get off of it because of the HORRIBLE withdrawal. I finally went to the doctor and was totally prepared to suffer while transitioning to something else. He put me on Lexapro. I stopped Paxil and started Lexapro the next day. What a change!! If paxil no longer works for you, give it a try. The side effects are minimal. The cost is high but worth it! I think paxil should be banned!!

  • I just switched from Paxil, to Lexapro and Xanax. It helped me a lot.

  • A lot of depression is genetic, and a lot is also what we eat. There is an unbelievable amount of crap in our food and drink , chemicals which cause chemical imbalances in our brains. Changing your diet helps. The chinese have got it right...

  • SSRI's are just pure evil TBH

  • The world health organization found paxil to be the hardest anti depressant to withdrawal from period. Though technically it is an SSRI like Prozac, in reality it belongs in a category all it's own. It's true some individuals have no problems coming off it and it works wonders for them but it's not worth the risk. If you're one of the unlucky ones then the experience of coming off paxil is life changing. I speak from personal experience and have been in contact with many others struggling throu

  • @pcrash please do not take paxil. It won't help you process the loss of your father. It'll numb you up and make you unable to truly accept it. Find other ways in dealing with your emotional problems. Paxil is not a fix. At best it'll give you temporary relief but eventually everyone has to come off. The drug will eventually poop out and you'll effectively be in withdrawal while still on the drug. If you're really determined to try an SSRI try anything OTHER than paxil. The world health organiza

  • Very educational, thanks. My doctor is planning on putting me on Paxil due to my emotional problems. I lost my father last year and still having a very hard time with this. My emotional roller coaster is effecting my marriage as well. I'm 34yrs old with 3 kids at home. I'm scared to death to start taking this medication. Any advise or other medication you would recommend?

  • @pcrash12

what doesn't seem clear from my video is that paxil has been a great help to me. unfortunately, i just didn't realize the backlash of stopping it too quickly. i have since heard that it takes months up to a year to get off any anti-depressant. they are all very similar in their withdrawals. if your doctor is suggesting paxil, then I would go with it. thanks for writing!

  • LOOK UP 5-HTP FOR withdrawal AND ANXIETY

  • @mosesman45

yes, i was on that as I weaned off. I tried it all.

  • @mosesman45

yes, i was on that as I weaned off. I tried it all.

  • Did you go back on a generic or actual Paxil and how are you doing?

  • @MrRoark1

I am on the generic. 20 mg and doing much better. thank you!

  • @MrRoark1

I am on the generic. 20 mg and doing much better. thank you!

  • I Hope and Pray that things will get better for you, and every else that's in the same situation...

  • God bless You! Just this morning I have decided after over 20 years of being prescribed cocktails of ssri's, that I am determined to get rid of these toxins out of my body. PLEASE RESEARCH the use of NIACINE. This is the route I am going to be taking to get of these drugs, that unfortunatly, have not worked to lesson my symptoms. :)

  • I really appreciate you taking the time to write something uplifiting. Though I am sorry to hear she had a rough time at first. I've been doing great. Thank you for writing.

  • i enjoyed your video, my sister in law went off her medication, lythium when she got pregnant and wound up in the hospital, couldn't stop talking, she went back on it, and my nephew is fine, no birth defects or problems for her having to take lythium when she was pregnant. best of luck to you.

  • I was taking one pill a day but it was messing with me sexually so been taking half. I lost my paxil so havent taken any for a few days. I feel like a tingling feeling down my right arm on and off. Dizzy and been feeling rage.

  • i have weaned down to 5 mg in 2 weeks. i feel very lightheaded like unbalanced from time to time, kind of nausious, excited with a jumpy heart but NOT depressed and unhappy...at least for the moment..who knows what happens next..

  • I'm on Fluoxetine, is that just as bad to come off?

  • Thank you for sharing. I am so sorry you were tricked into taking this drug for so long. They put profits over people. Hopefully your video will help others either to not start taking it or to be aware that it is the withdrawal of the drug that causes the problem and not themselves.

  • have you been well now that your back on paxil? and have you been trying to conceive ive been thinking about my future and seen some horror stories from people who get pregnant whilst on anti depressants and this really scares because i cant stop taking mine without feeling like i was hit by a bus

  • I have been on Paxil at 20 mg/day for about 6 years. I have been doing the 90-day refills from my GP, who every time I see him asks me if I think I should go off of it, and it's not that I don't want to but that I know all too well about the withdrawal effects and am angered that he knows nothing about them and can't help me. I've told myself that psychiatrists are too expensive, but, your video has helped to convince me that they are an expense I need to have. So for that, I thank you.

  • It's called Seroxat here in the UK and there 2 or 3 Panorama programmes on the BBC. I think they're on Youtube. I think antidepressants can be life-saving but clearly they also do a lot of harm.

Thankfully, I've never been on medication and never will.

Videos like this are so helpful and I hope you are much better now.

    God bless.

  • I really feel for you and know how it feels to feel like there are no answers. Thank you for your video.

  • I find it hard to focus on anything but how this drug has made me feel. I have never in my life had anything with withdrawal lasting this long.

  • Very brave of you to put it out there and I can tell that I felt comfort in your video. I like many search for others that know what it feels like coming off this drug.

  • I am not a doctor. But, Could your depression be a digestive problem where you are not able to absorb folic acid? I have found that I had fructose malabsorption and very common hemochromatosis(iron overload). I supplement with fish oil, L-methylfolate, and magnesium. This has worked for me. I get phlebotomies. I eat no sucrose or fructose. I do take Relacore and nightynight tea. I have read L-glutathione helps your liver detox. Individualize your tx with the docs help. Be proactive. suzq :)

  • Wow, this is so sad. Thank you for sharing your story and warning people about Paxil. 7 months! This is worse than any kind of opiate withdrawal.

I have a friend who had a healthy baby wile on ssris, she was in the same situation as you, just couldn't get off them. God bless you and may you have the baby you have always wanted.

  • The key to living with depression is minimizing stress, as cortisol is neurotoxic. The SSRI protects the neurons, and if you want to be off of them and not relapse, you have to limit your stress. Best done with meditation, exercise, diet, relationship management. I have been on and off SSRI for 10 years and recently discontinued in August. A great book about all of these details is Against Depression, by Peter Kramer.

  • Godbless you Amy. I know what you've been going through. The best advice I can give to you is read a couple of books. Self help for your nerves by dr Claire weekes and The power of now by Eckhart Tolle. These books helped me a great deal with anxiety and withdrawal. Mindfulness and Meditation hold great powers when dealing with anxiety and withdrawal. Peace be with you

  • Have you tried hypnotherapy? This is a very touching video on the subject most people rarely talk about... I wish you well, you seem like a decent person wanting the best. Take care.

  • @yingdiskette hypnotherapy is fantastic. I was introduced to it about a year ago and it is great. Also, I went off of paxil and was fine, happy and everything and then I became depressed again...I guess not again as I've always been clinically depressed. Back on it and I feel great again. But hypnotherapy is really worth a try works well for me.

  • Butcher206 must work for GSK - always one sad person laughing at other people's misfortunes. When people act that way it usually means they have a crap life, no mates and very unhappy with their own life. spends all day on YouTube insulting others.

Good luck Amy! don't always trust doctors etc - Do watch the Marketing of Madness as someone kindly suggested.

A chap called bob fiddaman may be of some help, he has written a book " The Evidence, However,Is Clear"

  • Jesus.... they just put me on Paxil.... Oh my God, I have to get off of this... thank you so much for posting this.

  • So understand you. Wish you much success and love

  • Take oxycodone or hydrocodone or opana. you'll feel brand new.

  • @richiejacklov Are U crazy, these are livin hell to get off! I´m trying right now!

  • Amy.. Please please please.. watch this documentary... and please watch the entire thing... "Marketing of Madness" you can find it on youtube... Please do not get pregnant while being on a drug and please do not trust all doctors or psychiatrists... I don't know you but after watching your video, I care about you... and please watch the documentary.. it is 3 hours but it will be worth your time...I have been studying this field of antidepressants.. please look deeper into this.

  • You are such a brave beautiful person and I so love your integrity. I hope things work out, I think you'll be an amazing mother.

  • Part 3. Now I have dizziness and headache but I will continue to stop taking it. And I just want to say that you are not alone and god and always with you. I have a couple of goals now after I watch your video now. I am going to get my license, them get a job, graduate, and them get the hell out of this house and never look back. Thank you for giving me strength and for everyone else in the world you are not alone. May god be with you Amy and with everyone.

  • Part 2. My sister told me to never do that shit again. I cry myself to sleep that day. I know that hate is a strong word but I really hate that bitch. People don't that must anxiety for me, its my sister and mother. This has mess up my life I have not graduate from a two year college this will be my four year and I have no job and can't drive. I am 22 and started taking paroxetine in Aug and lately I have been having dry brown spot on my back. So stop taking it yesterday.

  • Part 1. Hi Amy, my name is Rocky. Well that not my real name because now I have a hard time trusting people. You see I have Social Anxiety Disorder , so at 22 I talk to my doctor and she put me on paroxetine and told me to see a shrink. Well told my shrink about my problem and what is bothering me, well she when and told everyone in my little town and my sister found out. My sister is the center of everyone that is wrong with me and when she found out she yell at me for it.

  • Thank you so much for getting back to me. The paxil didn't work for me, so my doctor switched me to celexa and now I'm being bumped up to 30 mg. I was so frightened about taking medication partially because I was embarassed about my anxiety. I'm starting to feel better, and if it's something I have to take each day then so be it. People with hear problems take medication each day so why not someone with anxiety. Again thank you for your kind words.

  • I appreciate all the positive comments I've received regarding my video. For those of you who feel the need to post something negative or harsh, I feel bad for you. I am doing much better now that I stopped fighting the doctors and got back on a relatively low dose of paxil. Maybe in the future, if I wean correctly, I can switch to a drug less potent, but for now I know paxil has been helpful to me. I wish I could get along without it, but for now it is giving me back my life

  • @amydanielle1027 I just wanted to let you know that I have been on Paxil for 13 years and last year I had a wonderful, beautiful healthy baby!!

I too was concerned about getting pregnant while being on Paxil. I talked with my OBGYN and he said it would be worse to try and go off of it for me and that there haven't been that many reports of birth defects and that lawyers are the ones who want you to believe that.

  • @amydanielle1027 Also,

I also spoke to two pediatricians about it and they were not concerned at all about it and said that they had many patients whose moms have taken it without any ill effects. I am still on it, I need it. I am better with it, for me, my husband and my baby. Good luck getting pregnant and know you are doing what is best!!

  • Hey I always search on here for paxil withdrawel, because I went through it and want to share that there's light beyond the horizon and you will see it!!! I failed weening 3 times because I tried doing it in a couple months and experienced body convulsions, electrical shocks in the heart and brain, cold sweats, worst panic, and total arm numbness. I then spent 1 and a half years to ween off finally and had 0 withdrawels. Just wanted to share this for HOPE!

  • I have a terrible OCDish anxiety disorder. Mostly just the obsessions and anxiety not the cumpulsions. It makes me a shell of who I really am. I felt great on Luvox but gained 20 pounds. I have gone on and off prozac, zoloft, luvox and lexapro. I got close to my normal weight than felt bad again so I took more meds and gained again. Now Im on nothing and I'm barely losing anything so I don't know what to do. Good luck Amy, you are still a beautiful person.

  • I have went through this, now I reduced my dose 10 percent every 3 weeks , with the gradual taper I had very little withdrawal. A huge difference then the first try which was horrible. I feel great and I am finally getting my life back. Slow and steady wins the race!

  • i really hope you get better soon!

  • I'm really thankful for your video, I was thinking about taking medication. I believe you can do it. I am sure you are strong enough. You will get through this.

  • Interesting to see how women can stay in this state for such a long time. I wouldn't be able to make a video if I were truly depressed. SSRI withdrawal can make me really easily enraged, so I stay away from anything overly stimulating. BTW, Feeling good tonight! Paxil 5 mg

  • I'd try a tranquilizer of some kind, but only when you are really feeling stressed out. I've been on and off of Paxil / Lexapro for about 9 years now at a minimal dose (2.5-5mg). I do notice a difference about a week afterwards, then even more 2 weeks down. Eat very clean. Stay away from booze. Make sure your support system is there to keep you energized. Take a break when it gets to be to much. Watch a lot of comedy, and take rides on motorcycles.

  • i highly reccomend marijuana. i'm completely serious

  • I think what we all need in life is a hug :)

  • DON'T take Paxil. I've seen ads ALL the time on TV "If you've taken Paxil, Lexapor, Topamax etc while pregnant and your child has birth defects you may be entilted to a settlement" DON'T TAKE IT!!! I wish you luck when you do get pregnant.

  • lol funniest video ive seen all week

keep up the good work, this is comedy gold

  • @BUTCHER206 are you kidding me, please god tell me you are fucking kidding me. you think you're funny making light of mental illness you FUCKING PRICK. You think its fun not having control of your thoughts, not having control of your feelings, feeling like dying and you don't know or understand why, being afraid to leave your home because you don't know if you're going to experience and panic attack in front of people. I wouldn't wish depression or anxiety disorders on my worst enemy.

  • my wife went through almost this exact same thing about 4 years ago. she got off of it way too quick and had an extremely hard time with it. she's doing much better now. don't give up.

  • This is why people should just smoke weed........

  • this video makes me realize how lucky I am that I didn't go through the same thing that youre going through. I was on several different antidepressant/anti anxiety meds over the coarse of several years, and abruptly stopped after ramping up the dosage to the point where i was uncomfortable. I experienced very very intense withdrawal symptoms for months on end, but they were mostly auditory and visual, leaving my emotional state virtually unchanged. you're going to be that smiling bride again.

  • @darkmessengerix dont give up and don't think that going back on the meds is your only option, especially if youre planning on getting pregnant. if your baby ends up having health problems of their own, you might end up blaming yourself and getting depressed all over again. slow and steady wins the race. but I know you can do it. you have plenty of time to reach an equilibrium again. have faith. there are natural ways to help dig yourself out of the mess you're in. youre strong enough.

  • @darkmessengerix one more thing: this should be an eye opener to a lot of people to how dangerous prescription meds are. I was once a heroin addict, and withdrawing from that was nowhere near as shitty as withdrawing from celexa/zoloft/etc. love yourself and nourish yourself and your relationship with yourself and whatever spiritual power you might believe in, don't go on meds, they'll cause confusion down the road, i promise you.

  • @darkmessengerix These medications definitely are not for everyone, but Zoloft has saved my life. I was on the edge when i started taking zoloft, because of severe anxiety which in turn caused depression I could not form or maintain any type of social life or interaction. When I reached a point of suicide as a possible solution to my problems my family got me to see a psychiatrist. Since then my quality of life has bettered tenfold, are things perfect, no, but i will never look back.

  • That scares me. BEcause herion I thought was suppose to be the harest drug to clean out of your system. Then they say the Meth is Death because ppl can't stop using it after starting due to the hard come down. I can only compare Paxil to Opiate withdraw. Opiates were a walk in the park compared! So please place me in your prayers. I am just worried my abnormal brain anatomy may freak out & cause another stroke or something. I am going Tues to a NEURO specialist. Hope he don't want to dissect me!

  • I am going to attempt not taking any Paxil Sat night and Sun to see if I can get through. If the symptoms start to manifest, I will take a half and try to go some more days to up my thresholds & get my brain/body use to not having Paxil daily. Thank you for all of your info. I am really just scared of what this med is doing to EVERYONES body/brains to cause such horrid symptoms from anti-dep meds. I have read post of ppl trying to get off this, they once used herion..& that PAxil is harder???

  • 21st, 22nd, 23rd took half by biting a small amt off. So It may not even be 5mg as I am only trying to give my body enough to help with w/draws. I have neurontin 300mgs...I read this medicine helps with opiate w/draws. So I started taking 1 of those w/ the halfs. I also have Busiprone (anxiety med) and have been taking a 1/2 of 7.5mg. It has helped because I can feel my touch & symptoms are manigable. Fainting feeling still bad & the explosion head pain too.

  • @rachkat I agree with the normal comment. Really, what is normal. Its a scientific theory supported by studies of selected ppl in mass numbers. However, my brain anatomy is far from the normal seen in most ppl. Did the explanation help? That is why I am scared of this all. My brain abnormalities are surfacing more&more with cognitive issues, vision and coordination. I have horrible tremors right now. I am on 1/2 doses. The 15th to the 19th I was w/o Paxil. Went to ER 19th. Took 1 10mg 19th&20th

  • @rachkat I was given no real solid answers until the pharmacist explained on day 6. I quickly took a 10mg after filling the script. Then I took another one 12 hours later to stop the horrid feeling all over my body. I have MS so it made those symptoms worse. I really had trouble lifting & moving my arms. Like I would go to grab something & overshoot it. I had parathesia, numbness, loss of touch sensation, hot prickly feeling, and the brain zaps as well as major fainting feeling each time up

  • @rachkat And MANY drs & hospitals won't take me as a patient & I was afraid to go to SCIENCE NEUROLOGY for fear I would be dissected or a guinea pig. Maybe even accidental death from a minor procedure to where they can take my brain and slice it apart. Thats why I say & know I am alone with it. I have researched for 9 yrs now. Not found 1 other person. I guess that really sets me apart. I went on day 5 when the withdrawal really started to become to much. I ran to the ER thinking I was dying.

  • @rachkat So its just not me dealing with chemical imbalances or other things that are considered to have many ppl affected. I am by far to date the only 1 found to be living with 14 major & rare brain abnormalities. It was said that I barely escaped Spinal Bifida as my spine where the gap occurs had a very large spongy opening when spinal taps were done. There is no1 I can really talk to for support who understands & can help me have an idea what to expect in life. I am writing history.

  • @rachkat I also have Chiari Malformation Type 1 & to add to that malformity, my brain stem is crowded. AS a result, I have adult onset obstructive hydrocephalus, which has left me with a VP Shunt in my head. Drs say I should not have been able to walk or talk. Yet I lived 25 yrs w/o any noticed effects. I seemed ‘normal” until a seizure/TIA/fainting spell occurred.

  • @rachkat What makes me think the rest of u have a normal brain?I meant as far as the parts of the brain.Like the anatomy of the brain. I am missing the Septum Pellucidum, Agensis of the Corpus Callosum, Empty sella syndrome, Flattened Pituitary Gland, Aqueductual Stenosis, & more! Meaning, I am missing parts of my brain anatomy. The DRS all say I am a walking miracle. CONT

  • I am scared to death. I was prescribed Paxil a lil over a month ago to help me with my new diagnosis of MS. I have multiple neurological problems & brain abnormalities. Due to a flair up with MS, I had not got out of the house to fill my script. Well, I originally thought it was a MS spell but quickly learned different. On day 4, I thought I was dying. I could not make my extremities move..it felt like some1 was pulling on them. I felt like novacain had been shot in my whole body. Touch was numb

  • all over. I really had no idea it was Paxil withdrawal. In the month I was on it, I would miss days. Then I would have days where I just thought my muscles were freaking out. I also am on Oxycodone and Fentanyl for my neurological problems which are rare. I have chronic pain. At my visit before the day the withdraw started, I cried about my muscle aches not responding to my opiate care which had before just fine. I was then given muscle relaxers. On day 4, I cried I was dying & rushed to the ER!

  • There, I got no answers. I was told all things were stable with my heart because I felt like I couldn't breath. PANIC &ANXIETY I NEVER have HAD even when dealing with brain surgeries was all over me. I was dismissed from ER with no answers. That night, I started decreasing all meds. I thought my brain was overloaded, over saturated or something. I had a brief moment of let up. I got out of the house to not go insane. At Walmart, I went to fill my script for Paxil as anxiety was bad.

  • I asked to talk w/ pharmacist. I told her what I was feeling & if opiates can overload neurons. She said, how long have u been w/o Paxil. I said 5 days now. She said, that is your answer. She then tells me the horror she is aware of w. this drug. I filled it & took a 10mg right then. After 5 hours, it was not letting up enuf. I took another and w/in an hr I felt improvement. The next day (last night) I took a half of a 10mg. Repeated tonight but I am feeling some of the w.draws again.

  • I have w/drawn off oxycontin & zanax at the same time in 4 days of a taper using oxycodone for breakthru this summer. It was tons easier than this. If Paxil is doing this horrible stuff to ppl w/ normal brain development, what will it do to me? I really feel like an alien in my own body. I am so scared..I feel my arms not wanting to move. Having to focus on making my fingers type. I am trying to just take half of 10, is that safe to cut them? Can some1 plz write to help me! see next post

  • I hurt for you. I've just started Paxil recently. I have very bad anxiety.....feeling a bit better. I will pray for you. BIG HUG. You are absolutely NOT a failure!

  • Please look up Ann Blake Tracy. She has extensive research on SSRI's and how to wean off safely if that is what you want. There are nutrients that might could help with withdrawal and depression.

  • I was on paxil for a few years, and over time I weaned myself off of it with smaller and smaller doses until I was taking about 5 mg a day or so. I ended up switching to Wellbutrin, which made the paxil withdrawls pretty much disappear. It worked for me and many other people, so it might be an option for others looking to get off of Paxil. Plus, Wellbutrin has nearly no withdrawal symptoms because unlike paxil, it gets out of your system quickly.

  • O_O OMG!

I was just prescribed this. I still haven't taking it, my doctor said this could help me with my anxiety attack. Screw it if the pill gonna make me worse and with all these crazy side effects, screw it!!!

  • oh my

  • give me paxil any day and its side effects over an excruciating clinical depression!

  • My brain is now damaged by SSRIs

  • Wow, I really hope everything is better now. Stay strong.

  • Amy disregard anole44's comment. I'm sorry that you feel this way right now anole44, but no matter how bad life/the world is, it's so worth sticking round for those minute little moments of happiness that EVERYONE does experience. There's no doubt that life can be extremely difficult, but being alive is one of the most amazing things imaginable, and the gift to make a life is so rewarding and life enriching for those lucky enough to be able to. A life lived for others is a life worth living! x

  • I just started taking paxil last month.

  • You look like you are really suffering, I hope you have improved since this was recorded.

  • paroxetine is good it has really improved my life.panic attacshave stpped.other med i will prescribe for depression is flupentixol melitracen combination .

  • I hope it's getting better.

  • You are so strong talking openly about your experience, i wish you all the best , hang in there

    /hugs from sweden

  • I'v been suffering from anxiety my entire life, and my doctor wants to put me on 10 mg of paxil... I'm really scared about it, I'm only 23 but I just don't know what else to do. I'v never taking medication for anxiety before and researching about paxil is starting to be terrifying.

  • @Samantha2011xo

Hi there! I am very careful about reading people's comments because I'm still so vulnerable about what happened to me. But yours stuck out and I wanted to get back to you. Sorry it's taken so long. I'm definitely not a doctor, but I can say this much. Paxil has been a wonderful drug for me. Unfortunately! I wish I didn't have to be on anything, but I now treat this as any other disease and know I need it to get along in life. That is a low dose. You will be okay.

  • @amydanielle1027 I agree Paxil has worked wonders for myself. And new studies show that paxil does not cause birth defects.

  • I appreciate your comment more than you know. I am slowly weaning off the Ativan now. I'm down to .4 mg. Can't wait to be free of that medication. This has been the most challenging year of my life. And to think I would've been fine if I had just stayed on the 10 mg of paxil. It's mind blowing to me. But things are looking up so I'm thankful. Thank you Jonny8339 very much for writing.

  • @amydanielle1027 Hey Amy, your welcome! I was on Paroxetine for three years for anxiety. I found it helpful, but i entered a relationship and had sexual dysfunction from the drug. So i took myself of it in a very controlled way, but still had an awful awful withdrawal, and was in torment. You are a very wise person for doing this for a healthy pregnancy, but this medication is important for you, there are women who are a HELL lot more wreckless while preganant. Give yourself a break! x

  • thank u very much for uploading this, its been very helpful and comforting to me. i wish you all the best x

  • Wonderful story on a site called Wellness Resources and the story is called:

Why SSRI's cause brain damage, breast cancer and early mortality.

One will see all the data and stories backing up this new information, this is a wake up call for all women, especially if you are still young!!

  • This is the worst story yet about SSRI's, either get off of them now, or wait and suffer more when one is older, especially women.

  • ......which scares me. But I know I'm in a situation where I need it. Hoping not to be on more than 20 mg when the time comes. But I've been hopeful before to no avail. I'm comforted knowing your doctor told you paxil would be okay. I've only been told that by a psychiatrist and not an OB. Seems they like to push zoloft, which I tried but couldn't take- made me sick so here I am back on paxil whether I like it or not. Where do you live? Are you pregnant now?

  • Ericaville- I can't find your first message but remember reading it- I think it was you. I feel for you, believe me. This is the hardest thing I've EVER been through. Absolute hell. I hope you have a good doctor and are okay.

Hbanana7- I definitely can't comment on what your doctor told you. I did tons of research and all I knew was that paxil was moved to a Category D drug instead of C, meaning not as safe. But I've been told it's a lot of media hype. I will be on it when I get pregnant

  • I believe I also neglected to mention that now I'm in the process of weaning off the additional drug I had to be given through all of this which is Ativan. I can't figure out if it's real withdrawal symptoms of anxiety & dizziness or me freaking out about weaning once again and causing me to feel that way. I'm doing it slowly and was only on 1 mg a day. But was on it for 7 months so was told to be very careful. I feel awful today after feeling amazing for a week. Continues to be frustrating

  • i was told by my doctor that it was okay to have babies on paxil. Were they lying to me?

  • How is your sleep and if you are sleeping how long did it take for you to sleep?

You are not alone, I can not believe the people that are taking it, you would never know, but I have been shock to find out.

  • I have to say you are a very strong woman :) I totally understand what you are going through I had the same thing with Cymbalta. I still have brain zaps and feel like I want to claw my face off and it has been almost 2 years. I am on 2 drugs now for depression and I am doing well most days. I think we will have some bad days as well. I am going to therapy and it helps a lot. Please keep us informed on how you are ;0

  • Hi! There are a few points I forgot to mention that I believe are of importance. I first went on paxil in 1993 for depression. But that was nothing compared to the hell that I've experienced over the last 7 months. I also neglected to mention the frustration of finding a doctor I could trust or felt comfortable with. I went to 5 different psychiatrists who all treated me with different meds. This only added to my anxiety. Settled on a doctor at Columbia-can only hope current plan works

  • hey sorry to flood your page with questions i just was interested
