  • Fucking gaaaaay! All gays need to die a horrible painful death and burn in the lowest circles of hell for eternity. Fuck all of pro-gay and gay people. I hope you die.

  • @libowarrior May you one day find peace and let go of your hatred.

  • me and my girls were watching the uncut version of this and every time we saw them truly together, we'd start grinning like idiots lmao

  • fucking gay

     good movie tho.

  • I dont remember this movie. But, perhaps he was seeking for more because he had not found the right woman yat. His source of true love perhaps was his connection to hephastios. Im about to see this movie again to remember it.

  • Alexander and Hephaistion are both very beautiful here.

But according to history, Hephaistion had Gold and short curly hair just like Alexander. They both looked alike except that Hephaistion was taller than Alexander.

Alexander was only 5ft. 3 inches in height ~

  • Say that to someone 5ft 2". Just out of interest what was the average size at that time. I don't know, just wondered.

  • Somehow I could not understand one thing. It seemed as if he´was always searching for his home....someplace to be happy´. On the other hand there was his love...and in the End Hephastion was the only one who could really reach him. But why did he try to gain so much...is it just me or was he a bit silly for not being happy with what he had...maybe he wouldn´t have been a heroe like herakles but at least he would have been happy (maybe) Beautiful vid, very well done (sry for my bad english)

  • I agree with you. Alexander had something very few people ever find; he had someone who loved him more than life itself and put him before anyone else. However, Alexander wouldn't have become the great warrior without this endless need to keep searching for something he would and could never find 'out there'. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. 'hugs'

  • I'm fond of wathcing your vids!! you're so nice and sweet!! thanks for be my friend! =D Take care and I hope see u soon! :D I hace to sleep and later I have to travel for my job but I'm so lucky 'cause I know you :D

    Good luck *hugs and kiss*

  • i ran across a text and it says that when Alexander is gone the nations became orphans...even moslem honored alexander....even in bible mentioned him as a two-horned king....i hate those people who defaming him...i'm straight but i adored Alexander more than anyone else the world has ever known...second to Jesus Christ!

He's friendship with Hephaestion is so applaudable...surpasses that of women...resemblance to david-jonathan great friendships...

  • I'm not sure who David and Jonathan are but I agree that for both Alexander and Hephaistion there was no one more important in their lives, no one they loved more, than each other. This was a relationship which defined and shaped them. The trust and love between them is unquestionable. Thanks for watching.

  • ....great job....

  • Thank you

  • I love this movie.

Pics at 3:18, 3:38 and 4:00 are the best.

  • It's an amazing movie. You're a Hephaistion fan I see; those are also great images. Hephaistion is very dear to me as well; where would Alexander be without him (and vice versa of course). :) Thanks so much for watching.

  • the picture in 2:06 is the best ! ^_^

  • That is a nice picture; thanks for watching. :)

  • and for the end i d like to suggest you if you like Alexander so much, defend him,as he is not here, because many name him with strange names and characteristics, and put him next to Hitler too,!!,and some try to change his national identity, except his personality, and name him Slav ,or Slavobulgarian, and not a Greek as he really was,

  • I admire the historical figure but this is also why I want to defend him for all he was and not just one side of it. He was a great leader, a great King and yes; someone to be admired. He conquered the known world before he was 30! But he was also a human being and a part of defending Alexander's memory, to me, also means defending those he loved and the culture he came from which is very different from today's (Western) Christian culture.

  • 'smiles' So don't worry, I do defend him - and Hephaistion - but I want to give a holistic picture for all men (even Alexander) have several sides to them and all are important. As a researcher myself I know how important it is to use all material and use this holistic perspective. :) Anyway, thanks for the debate and take care. (If you should want to continue the debate please send me a message instead of leaving a comment - this tread is starting to take up too much space).

  • i d also like to say that Alexader the third was a man that all humans today should pay respect for what he did for mankind ,most of the people dont know his two sites, warrior was the one and the other was the real great one, but you ll find it in Ploutarhos books

  • Thanks but I already know all this. I admire the historical Alexander for the human sides as well as his thoughtful, military and royal/leader qualities. I think that is all I am trying to say. That for me he is everything; leader, King, philosopher, lover, conquerer, savior, visionary...and a young man, a human being with both strengths and weaknesses and human emotions like all humans have. :)

  • i can suggest you something ,please ?

try to find the books of Ploutarh (Ploutarhos in Greek) that takes about Alexander the yare two, and then you can read Arrian , there you ll see i hope so, a man that is something very different from a soft warrior that looks like a Saxon :)

  • People can be strong military leaders and still be gentlemen and have a big heart and a thoughtful soul. I do not think the one excludes the other. :)

  • the human site of Alexander the C was about 80% different from what this movie shows, and as for Hephaistion its 100% that he never paint his eyes,i tell you because i know the real history and i know the Greeks, as a Greek, and i know better the real meaning fo the word EROTIC ,and how it was used and still is by the Greeks, its a Greek word any way,

  • I didn't live back then so I won't claim to know anything with 100% certainly - not even in regard to my own country's history. Maybe in particular not my own country's history as I could become biased by national pride, personal beliefs and how I would have wanted things to be. But I respect your perception; we're all different and all take a different approach to life; also when it comes to interpretations of historical facts in our own life or in the life of great leaders.

  • i know that you are not attacking religions , this is very clear, you just make a mistake ,for me, choosing to present this ,because it is not true, and any way there are so many other great things to show about Alexader ,and its a pity to show something like that ,not because homosexuality is something bad ,we dont exam this here .but because the way it is presented in the movie it shows some ridiculous man, when he was so great and we all today pay respects to him,

thank you for your time !

  • It is hard to show Alexander's life in a movie as there is so much to tell. I love the movie though because it showed the human side to Alexander as well as his strong bond with Hephaistion which I love as I admire their bond, love and devotion a lot. I agree that it could have showed his military side more but then so many other movies do that. This was a very human portray of Alexander. Anyway, again thanks for dropping by and take care. :)

  • where in history it is written that Alexander the Great was not Greek and that he was a gay?

  • To answer your first question then his Kingdom was Macedonia. The reason for the conflict between Greece and Macedonia today is that some parts of the current Macedonia was likely Greek back then and vice versa.

  • the answer to my question should be that history says "there" that... that thing.but you dont know Macedonian history thats why you dont replay correctly,

Makedonia is a Greek name given by Makednos to his land,aLEXANDER WAS FROM THE GENERATION OF HERCULES originated from timenos ,king of Argos city in Peloponnese .those that claim to be Macedonians today are nothing more than slavobulgarians, that came to the Balkans in 580 AD and in Macedonia in around 8 th century AD,

  • I am not from Greece or Makedonia so I am not emotionally involved in this debate. All I know is how history outside these countries paints it.

  • Oh, to clarify then I'm saying his Kingdom was called Makedonia. What nation Alexander was from depends on how you judge it. In modern times he would likely be called Macedonian but in ancient times when you traced bloodlines he was Greek. This, however, still does not resolve the conflict between Greece and Macedonia. It depends on how you choose to judge it. :)

  • In repy to your second question then Alexander cannot be labelled as gay or straight. These concepts came with Christianity and the religion hadn't been formed yet when Alexander lived. In Alexander's time sexual relations between men were common and often encourged. It was assumed that such unions could create closer bonds than with women. It didn't mean that men didn't marry or had female lovers, they did, they just often also had a male lover.

  • An example of the concept is The Sacred Band of Thebes. It was one of the most feared and respected Greek battle units. It consisted of 150 pairs of male lovers. They were assumed to fight better as they fought for a loved one as well as for political reasons.

  • In regard to Alexander; he had 3 wives and children. He also had several mistresses and at least one well known male lover (Bagoas).

  • The relationship between Alexander and Hephaistion takes center stage to all these relationships because it was much more than a physical relationship. Alexander trusted Hephaistion completely and saw him as an extension of himself; he rewarded him with great power and wealth for his love. From childhood Hephaistion had been Alexanders confident and loyal friend. He also married a sister to one of Alexanders wives so their families became connected by blood. In their love they were as one.

  • If you are interested in reading about the different lovers Alexander had I recommend this book: Alexander's Lovers by Andrew Chugg. It details all Alexander's different lovers (male and female) and has extensive historical references (from letters and old historians etc.). You can buy it from Amazon.

  • I hope this answered both your questions. Thanks for watching my video and take care.

  • as for the Gay thing, well surely he liked womans, so he was not gay. so far i had readen three books ancient books, about Alexander and i only saw that he was straight, THANKS FOR YOUR TIME,

  • Its always hard when you grow up in a time where there exist labels like gay and straight to see that some cultures saw it differently. The Christian religion has for many years meant that a lot of historical facts and knowledge has been left out on purpose. When my own parents grew up they were never told that male/male relationships were common in the ancient world (or that most men had several wives for that matter) but when I was in high school it was a natural part of the teaching.

  • Alexander was an amazing man. He doesn't become less amazing by history acknowledging that in his time there were different views on love, relationships and right and wrong. Its important not to judge history based on todays religious beliefs. And about booksIt's first in the last ca. 40 years the world has slowly started to become ready to embrace and accept this diversity in history. If you want I can send you a list of books which includes this diverse view on Alexander and his life.

  • Anyway, let us not debate the matter further. I am not a historian; I readily admit that. For the detailed account of the diversity and complexity of times long since gone by there exist many fascinating books. If you choose to read some of them then happy reading; they are all very interesting. Thanks again for dropping by and take care. :)

  • Just wanted to clarify that I am not attacking religion here but just expressing how I have learned to view historical development. In the end it is a matter of perspective; our own cultural upbringing is very clear in how we view everything - also history. At least I think so. 'smiles' Anyway, just wanted to make sure I had not offended you or anyone else during our small debate. Thanks again for dropping by and take good care. :)
