The only logical reason I can think of why the ATF/Brady camp use the "for sporting/hunting" clause is they want to divide gun owners. Because they cannot attack us and beat us when we are united. I currently hold a FID card, which is a state approved Firearms Identification Card. It is considered the card with the least gun rights. You cannot own guns that have more than 10 rounds capacity, and no handguns allowed. So that means if I want an AR-15, I have to buy a state-approved one that has a 10 round magazine on it. I think California has a similar law.

I live in Massachusetts, and we are probably at the ass end of the gun control movement. That Saiga 12 shotgun seen in this video is currently pending for ban in this state because the state officials claim "It's too dangerous". I should also mention many firearms companies don't like to sell guns in this state because they all have to pass some expensive test to prove to the state government that "this gun holds validity and approval in the commonwealth".

The 2nd amendment and supporting documents make very clear the intent. The Supreme Court over the years has pretty much unanimously upheld the right to keep and bear arms in over 18 cases. Why are we still even debating this? Why is our government still insisting on disarming us? That should be the question not sporting concerns.

@HandzarMitraljezac In Iraq they allow every "adult male" in a household to have one rifle (typically a select fire AKM rifle), one magazine and as much ammo as they want (but only one magazine). There is no provision in their constitution protecting this, but that is what the law states. Pistols and additional rifles may be confiscated, but they are allowed to have one each. There may be US forces enforcing their own rules, but they are in the wrong.

"Shall not be Infringed" is the wording of the 2nd amendment, it doesn't say "eliminated", but the sad thing is that too much of the U.S. has been brainwashed into thinking that "eliminated" would be a good thing, and they that aren't that far gone are largely satisfied with "not quite eliminated but highly infringed".

In that day, the common man in the colonies had access to the same weaponry as the British, within financial constraints, and they recognized this balance of power as a fundamental necessity in a free nation.
