The difference is methodological. While China only does business and don't meddle in internal affairs to get the oil, the USA meddle in internal affairs, cause more confusion in the region...to get the oil.
...If Venezuela wants to sell oil to Sweden, Cuba, UK or Jupiter, China doesn't give a damn. Chinese continue doing business with Venezuela anyway. With the U.S isn't the same. USA imposes more restrictions, wants to control which countries can or can't buy oil from Venezuela.

President Uribe has had 70% approval rate for his 8 years in the presidency. There have been some inocent people killed in Colombias struggle against the communist guerrillas by some rotten apples. Every military in the world has rotten apples. That is regretable, but do not be naive, if the narco-terrorist communist guerrillas take over the country. Pol Pot's death camps would have been a walk in the park. The US is seen in Colombia as honest, hardworking and brave allies.

Well, along with the Colombian bases and a revival of the US' Southern Fleet in Latin America, comes a big US push to establish a network of bases and a military presence throughout the African continent. Colombia has improved so much under Uribe. I have family in Colombia and go there practically every year. and ever since Uribe has been president, it has improved year after year. The kidnappings, the drug cartels, the violence have all dropped significantly. You dont know how many people in Colombia love the president, and hate the terrorists and paramillitary groups. I and most of Colombia is prouder than ever to be Colombian, and for good reason.

Our foreign dept is bad, but its not in the danger zone quite yet....
I'll remind you the British empire had 250% debt in the early 1800's and they lasted for another 150 years. The Japaneses had 200% in early 1900 and would probably still be around today if they weren't defeated by American forces in ww2.
So ours could be paid off in 20-30 years. Our economy is the strongest GDP in the world by 4 times more then second place Japan.
Venezuela economy is very poor. Even if its debt free.

What are you talking about? The US considerably weakened the Japanese Empire and pushed it all the way back to the mainland before nuking it. As for Vietnam, we had been winning the entire time we were there and nearly completely crippled the communist regime before pulling out. South Vietnam thrived for 2 years after we left and controlled more territory than ever before. Even North Vietnamese general Vo Nguyen Giap said they were surprised that we left because we were winning.

i think the world war will start here in Latin America.. Colombia (traidor) with USA against the Latin American new society just formed, Brazil is a strong hand in here, and Venezuela supported by Iran, Russia and China. Mexico is ally of US but is Latin American so i think we won't accept any incursion into south america.. India is ally of Mexico, Cuba with Russia, Argentina with Brazil.. etc etc.. I hope everything gets resolved in a safe way.

If you read Hugo Chavez' statements on this matter instead of the distorted version of them presented in the rightwing press, you'd see he has only spoken of being ready to defend Venezuela against attack, not attack anyone at all.
Speaking of disparity, if you try and argue against disparity as a trade union leader in Colombia, the chances of being a victim of the paramilitaries and the same government who is inviting the US in, are horribly high.

Well, along with the Colombian bases and a revival of the US' Southern Fleet in Latin America, comes a big US push to establish a network of bases and a military presence throughout the African continent. If I'm not mistaken the planned bases in South America might even be used as a possible southern gateway to Africa, in any case, they definitely want access to both.

Colombia has improved so much under Uribe. I have family in Colombia and go there practically every year. and ever since Uribe has been president, it has improved year after year. The kidnappings, the drug cartels, the violence have all dropped significantly. You dont know how many people in Colombia love the president, and hate the terrorists and paramillitary groups. I and most of Colombia is prouder than ever to be Colombian, and for good reason.
