  • there is no problem at all with bringing your car. going further into the deeper water is crucial for whitefish and trout, but the shallow waters has good and many perch, you'll bbe busy all day with fun. whitefish takes a lot of experience. my friend learned the hard way-learn it himself. he didnt catch a thing for two years but now hes probably the best on the simcoe ice. he simply never come back empty handed. one of his trick is to go where there ARENT people, where the fish seem less lures.

  • hes no idiot, he's simply a beginner. Feb ice on simcoe could be as much as 15 to 20 inches. i was at big bay point every week in feb. the ice was exactly two feet. 2ndly, ice fishing is 1000% easier with a fish finder. you may get some perch with simple equipement but whitefish, pike or trout in the bottom deep waters will be impossible without a fish finder. but no matter where you are, a dead rule for ice fishing is that you MUST fish at the bottom. 4 to 7pm is best. xprience=reward. gudluck!

  • Try fishing where people are, there's fish there, that's why they are still there, also, when you jig, the jig does most action while falling so let it fall! Jig it up, count to 2-3 then back up, once fish are there, small action works best

  • noob... hah... good start though... Minus the gloves maybe...

  • a good way of knowing if you're in the right spot is take a look around you ... there's a reason nobody is even close to you !!!

  • not a good idea to bring ur car

  • Nobody starts out an expert. There is the learning curve. Some lessons are best learned the hard way. Bottom line is to get out there and have fun.

  • this guy checks how thick the ice is after he drives his car out duhhhh that`s smart

  • hahahaha,,,,,,,,,,,,,all comments are funny. This guy is an absolute rookie. I remeber I was the same when I went icefishing for the first time, but never used kitchn gloves to remove the choped ice from the hole...HAHAHAHA......

  • Try augering the hole with two people.

You face each other and both of you turn, it's a lot easier.

    WTG, everybody starts somewhere

Tight lines, I drive my jeep out every weekend the ice allows.

    See ya out there

  • This guy is an idiot! Should've hooked the line on the windshielsd wipers and turned them on! Good thing he brought the yellow glove and the 2 dollar fishing pole!

  • Hi, Im the "Idiot" ice fisherman ! Wow, great idea to hook the line to the windshield wipers !! im going to try it next time, i'll upload the video to show you guys how it works. We still had a good time drilling toilet holes at Lake Simcoe that day lol :P

  • hicktowngal if you dont like the video why would you spend your time on commenting...

  • @hicktowngal This is why girls stay in the kitchen.

  • Buy an ice scoop bro.

  • you remind me of myself when i was starting to learn icefishing. i used to drill hole like....in HUNDREDS.. but it was fun.

i may say the importance of CLITS and SCOOP. you look cool anyways.

    cheers..
