I worked on the office tower elevators there when I lived in Nashville. (The ones on the office tower that go from the 3rd floor of the hotel to the 26-30 floors of the building) The Sheraton across the way from them had a beautiful old Otis Gearless System that Thyssen-Krapp ruined in the name of modernization.
yes i saw how thyssenCRAP ruined the old otises. anyway the service elevators there are still original. flimed the guest and service elevators yesterday.
The machine and outside fixtures are original. all that was replaced was the interior buttons due to the fact that the upper button floors were not ADA compliant. also the old fixtures, there were no phones in the elevator, only a call bell.
I want to look at the indicator!
I have never went to Nashville, TN!

I like those new blue TK fixtures.

Yes, those are Signa4-VR (Vandal Resistant) fixtures. It's also interesting to come across a ThyssenKrupp elevator without the BUZZ.
CaptainElevator42189 2 years ago
Probably because it's a traction elevator, and ThyssenKrupp didn't modernize the whole thing apparently, not getting rid of the Dover traction chirp.
ElevatorMan2012 2 years ago
Of which I could understand, since the machinery for all I know is still in very good condition.

Interesting how these are original elevators, except for the fixtures, and at least the phone makes the elevators more ADA compliant.
