The Milford Mill swim club, that place has been there since the 50's atleast! I went there from 68' thru 77', also went to Milford Mill High. Great times at that quarry!
do they still make you take that swim test from the peer to the pool on the right and back? I also remember at 12 in 1978 we used to swim up onder those peers and hang out under there lol. Barrels hold them up or at least they did back then. You jist go under water and come up under the peers. I reamber one chick on the pulley swing did the usual jump out and grab to get speed hit flat.. she came up like adad fish. they rescued here she was out cold. wow, mildord mill is still open :)
BTW we knew the owner of milford mill swimming club. In the 1970's he let his big ass dog a great dane jsut roam teh grounds. It was white with black spots like adalmation. In todays times you would never see that happening :) THen agian at those times not everyone wanted to sue you over anything..
I used to go there in the late 70's. I remember the pully rope that is to the right of the peers.. people used to push it a bit out, then, jump out to get speed. This women did it and missed the roped. she fell and hit the water flat. She floated up to the top... The life guards got her and she was okay as far as i know. IT was 1978. I love the old pinball machines. I was only 12. Is this place stil open?
Thank you so much for posting this,I grew up going to Milford Mill Swim Club and remember the tarzan ropes well. This brought back so many great memories.
Brought back some wonderful memories. Best place to actually let go and have at it -- that rope swing will definately tire you out! But then there's always the Pinball!
dude lol.. i remember the pinball at the consetion stand :) with the juke box... i remember "Only the good die young" , "tow tickets to paradise" and much more playing all the time.. miss those days.
Hey Malik, if you can think of something special. I can make a video of you and your friends. Not of the swim club though, something different but really cool. let me know
