@lindell92 Your place that you activate the stair from may be not on a wall but the stair still comes out from the dirt wall.

@lindell92 ... It goes down and then left, whats is to the left, a wall of dirt. Of course goes it down, but to not use any walls all the blocks needs to be hidden beneath and not in the wall to the side.

@lindell92 when the floor opens, the pistons come out of the wall, altho the wall is not above ground level

@lindell92 you moved the wall into the ground, that's all. It's not possible to make a hidden stair case without sideways pistons, hence the perpetual need for a side, that when placed above ground, would form a wall.
