  • Goddamn this is lame

  • I got one just opened it fresh out of the box. It's really unresponsive. What they dont tell you is that if you play any faster than what he's playing it's not going to keep up. This is with fresh batteries, and trying to power it with the usb also. The strings are incredibly random sometimes.. this is partially due to the fact that any vibration over the piece that says "YOU ROCK GUITAR" will cause the strings to sound. You can adjust sensitivity, but there is no real good setting.

  • 1:58 "Plug it into any amplifier" ,

    "HURRAY!!!"

  • JIZZ IN MY PANTS

  • I actually kinda want this peice of shit

  • Got this for Christmas

  • @safalafagus Me too xD

  • Just saying that this is a midi guitar, so to all the haters and anyone interested in it, don't expect authentic tones or to play it as just a guitar. Some may think thats bad but its useful when trying to get other instruments and synths and midi sounds.

If you're wanting to get real guitar tones then get a real guitar.

  • 118 persons play real guitar and with me 119 , this is a shit

  • Be able to play any timbre (instrument)? Through headphones (less string noise)? No pedals required (many sounds built in/or from other devices)? Lightweight plastic? ALWAYS in tune? Removable neck? $200 (less than some amps)? Play games? Fix any mistakes you make in Garageband (even change the instrument after you've recorded it)? Option of being powered by batteries by or USB?

This is revolutionary, I think it will go down in history with the invention of the piano (replacing the harpsichord).

  • just buy a real guitar....

  • bro i unsubbed thewhen i saw ur post about how life happens when u plan ahead

  • gutar hero? really? sellouts.

  • That sucks cuz your missing the real feel of the strings pushing back against your fingers and you can't even Bend a string it's like taking the fun out of guitar but I guess gamer would like it

  • I want one

  • Wow you guys have missed the point of what this is for. Imagine the idea of being able to solo using your favorite synth patch!!!

  • i had this, this is terrible. it sounds like shit. nothing like an actual guitar, it literraly, sucks dick

  • You suck at guitar! No doubt about that.

  • I would play a donkey crap before this shit...

  • Cool Guitar but I hate all the new electronic features. I love the the good old Les Paul and Gretsch!

  • Amazing You Rock Guitar™ Hotz Translator Software Demo by Jimmy Hotz = Super Musical Instrument ! It is currently the Main Featured Video on my Channel so just click the Hotz777 below to see it.

Seriously - you need to Check this out!!!

  • The comments in this video are so fucking funny! XD Just making fun of this guy at sucking ass at playing this shitty guitar. lol!

  • maybe sounds bad but its the closest thing to the fender squire to be used with rock band 3 pro mode as you cant get the fender guitar in the UK now discontinued or something ?

  • the tone hurts.... but my Fender G-DEC is a MIDI controller, and i love that amp!

  • you could put this guitar on the ground and start kicking it and it would just play smells like teen spirit

  • Pathetic!

  • sounds like shit

  • this isn't a guitar, this is a computer -.-'

  • Hahaha you cant even bend the strings on that piece of shit

  • Chuck norris plays better than that! xD!

  • Thats a cool guitar hero guitar

  • thats cool

  • man, you suck ass

  • @Mikssk8 through a straw

  • Uh...guys, the YouRock guitar obviously isn't a replacement for a real electric guitar. Have any of you actually used midi controllers for recording? There's nothing but keyboard interfaces...and I, and probably many other people, are decent guitar players but terrible piano players. This makes translating ideas onto a keyboard difficult.

The YouRock guitar is PERFECT for guys like me. Now I can use a guitar interface to control all my VST instruments and what not...it's so much more familiar.

  • @metaphoria Then why don't you just get a real midi guitar instead of this garbage.

  • @DrDrolomehet MIDI information is digital (MIDI - Musical Instrument Digital Interface), 0s and 1s, it's not like buying a real guitar where things like tone quality are considered. The YouRock will send the same 0s and 1s as a $3000 midi guitar, for a fraction of the price ($200). Plus, it's got all those groovy little features like the 65 instant-access alternate tunings, jam tracks, and built in guitar/synthesizer sounds that can be played without an amp.

  • @metaphoria You can get a madkatz midi guitar for like 140.

  • It seems awesome. My friend plays the electric guitar (here on YouTube actually) and I think that he would enjoy watching this video. I'll show it to him.

  • what a piece of shit get a real guitar

  • Comment removed

  • i want to see chilla frillas face plz

  • @MrReviewsHD who said that guy is chilla frilla

  • "I can make it sound like an electric guitar." Correction, a distorted electric guitar. Sorry, I'm picky.

  • It's cool but it sound like shit

  • lol thats pretty sweet but y did u have to butcher sum really great songs =/

  • this video is really entertainning

  • I'm sorry but this is lame as hell... Buy a Gibson

  • lmao he said headfuck! at 3:46

  • But will it blend?

  • @Jslayer261 That is the question!

  • dear santa....

  • Cool Toy, Lousy Instrument.

  • You uploaded this on my 14th birthday haha

  • What a great idea, love it, my daughter will be getting one when she can actually hold something ;o)

  • shit what is that???

  • Can the strings ever break?

  • @Wickalodeon They are supposed to last as much as a guitar, but they can break and there is a string replacement kit you can buy.

  • @nty I'm definitely getting one through musicians fiend. I haven't played guitar in months: bad intonation, dull sounding strings, retuning my guitar every ten minutes etc; It's time consuming. I like the idea of being able to throw it in a back pack. It will definitely help me get through one more year of college.

  • @Wickalodeon Yeah, I'm getting one too in the next two months. By the way, I wrote that the strings last as much as a guitar, but I meant that it's supposed to last as much as the guitar.

  • Nirvana FTW

  • Does this work well with Sibelius?

  • great, but theres nothing like a real electric guitar!

  • @noobedcubed yeah.

  • Paper Jamz can try to copy this, but they'll fail. Horribly.

  • cough retarded as fuck cough wat? cough sounds like shit. dont buy.

  • in terms of a proper electric guitar, this doesnt seem up to scratch, like its made of plastic to be fair, but as a midi guitar it fukin kicks ass!! its like rob swire's 'ztar' ,it can do the exact same thing ,check it out /watch?v=WvthY6PoTIA&feature=related

  • what a shit guitar!

  • smells like teen spirit!

  • or you could actually PLAY A REAL GUITAR!!!!!!!

  • so its a guitar hero controller and a guitar and an electric amp and a bass and an acostic and its portable should buy it

  • It's so sad that this guy can't even play a simple solo but gets to demonstrate it.

  • Hello

    Will Lewellyn

    Glad to see you

  • all the strings are the same gauge lol

  • @dilldonic this looks like the perfect way to learn guitar. especially with all the programs you can use on a comp or the rock band 3 stuff. so this is alot better than practicing on a real guitar. then when you learn this you can upgrade. its not being a poser.

  • @Intergalactiic you're retarded, there is no way in hell this works with guitar pro mode. the fact that you thought it would is beyond stupidity.

  • @DJsnukumz how is it beyond stupidity? it is a midi guitar and it just looks like it would be able to work with RB3 i mean if im wrong its not really exaggerated, besides i heard somewhere that rock band announced this guitar to work on pro mode. thats how i got here.

  • Ist das Ding schleeeeecht!

  • man i hate this !

    stop making music a game

when you start playing you need to develop your earing and your music reading

(i mean notes) when people will buy this thing they wont take it serious enough, they will do it the wrong way.

look the only thing im saying is that i think it is bad for people who realy want to play guitar. if you think im right thumbs up

  • @nirolevy96

    you are sow right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @nirolevy96 You are only half right. If you buy it as a guitar replacement then its obviously fail...but if you buy it as a midi controller then its actually very useful escpecially for the guitarist who cant play keys.how many guitar like midi controllers you know at this price range?i dont believe that there is one yet...so in my opinion is very useful for controlling midi and vsts and wont break the bank.

  • Comment removed

  • wow, thats pretty cool

  • Haha! You gotta laugh at all the idiots who think people that use this only use it for Guitar Hero or Rockband! They are no doubt the Rocker/Metalhead elitists you saw in High School!

I use this guitar, not for games, but for recording real music, with MIDI control of Synths or Guitar VSTs.

To put it in idiot terms: This guitar has MIDI, which means I can control guitar sounds on my computer and insert them into my songs! You still have to know how to play the real guitar and have skill!

  • @ForestDweller80 hey there Forestdweller, i was wondering if your you rock guitar is able to be used the same as a midi keyboard, aka total midi freedom? or is there limitations? Im interested in this as a cheap way of eliminating the need the need for a keyboardist in my band, i would plan on using it through a laptop with REAPER and a VSTI and then out through the PA. What do you think?

  • @Aryozad Hey Aryozad, yeah the You Rock Guitar functions just like a Midi keyboard, and it can do some stuff MIDI keyboards can't do, like strumming. It has total Midi freedom, just configure it to your DAW and to any VST you have. There are no limitation MIDI wise, it's polyphonic, touch sensitive, the ONLY thing is that since the strings arent connected to the frets, you cant do things like string bends, hammer ons, vibrato or harmonics like a real guitar, but it works good as key replacement.

  • @ForestDweller80

    Thanks for that.

  • At the moment my only questions are:

    1) Can it be used as a "pro" guitar for RB3?

    2) Can you do string bends? All I saw was him use the whammy bar. I assume you can't do most types of harmonics either, but that's just a guess. I don't know how advanced the tech behind it is.

  • @SaiyanKirby The "strings" are just fretwire running down the neck. Not a bad solution - but no string bends, no vibrato, no harmonics. On the plus side, two-hand tapping is a no-brainer, including physically-impossible-on-a-real-guitar tapping tricks like multiple fingers tapping on the same "string". It's a real instrument, with advantages and limitations like any other instrument.

  • @ratelect While that would normally be a deal-breaker for me being that I already own a few real electric guitars, you really can't beat the price. I'll probably pick one of these up at some point in the future.

  • i want one!

  • this is shit. Every idiot can play this thing!

    Learn the Real one!!

  • if i had that id use the tap mode to play NES music. Like mario, Ninja Gaiden II, or Zelda :P

  • STOP USING THE DAMN WHAMMY BAR!!! WE KNOW IT'S THERE!!! but would you suggest getting this if you're in a hardcore metal band? i need a bass that never goes out of tune and we need a synth player so what do you think?

  • @oSirMurkumx Definitely not.

  • If I had money to just spend on anything, this would be just a convienience item, be able to play it at night when my family is sleeping, no amps, perfect for on the go. Although nothing beats the real thing, but its still cool.

  • @MotionAllegiance theres no internal speakers. youd still need to plug it into something

  • @rockSG1212 He just said you can plug in head phones.

  • Crap

  • omfg this is stupid-.-

  • I LOVE NIRVANA, and it already has it

  • is for the game or can u use an amp

  • 0:46 to 1:23 is win

  • Were can you get this beautiful peice of technology and how much does it cost

  • anybody know where they have the best video game gear? seats everything you could think of please message or reply to this comment thank you!

  • "...if you're not sure how to do solos, you can go to you rock mode. For instance this song is in the key of F. If I play anything out of F, it'll mute it."

Kerry King should get one of these!

  • I stopped watching after realizing this dude cant play a god damn note without touching the freaking whammy bar.

  • @SuperDantedmc It impresses n00bs. [just a joke, no offense intended]

  • @ivaneduardo747 lol

  • BUY A REAL GUITAR...

  • @MrAndryguitar first of all, hes promoting it, second, if you had the chance to buy it, why not? it can act as a electirc guitar, acoustic guitar and a guitar hero controller and you can adjust those little thing to it such as the volume and pre set tones. sorry but if your implying that something is wrong with this shit must be spewing out your mouth

  • @TheSTJ24 guitar hero controller that could work... but as a electric or even acustic guitar... no way...

  • well this sounds awful

  • 1:56 "You can plug it straight into any amplifier"

    "hooray!"

  • Dear Faggot,

The annoying spammers and trolls, I didn't like it, but I can live with. I've gotten used to it now.

    The comments aren't as bad.

But THIS, is just too much to take! Every video I watch now has some annoying little bitch complaining about Youtube and how they're unfair!

I doubt u have a life, but I think I speak for a big part of the community when I say "Douchebag, shut the fuck up and shove your complaints up your ass."

    We don't care so stfu!

    Thumbs up and copy/paste

  • For the price and certain purposes this is fine. Not a substitute for a real guitar, but useful as a synth guitar, scale and chord practice and some recording applications etc. What seems to be missing is the ability to bend strings. You don't want to use the whammy bar or some other dial everytime you want to bend a note or do vibrato. Defintely a place for this though.

  • There was a midi guitar controller with different strings for the left & right hands for sale in the mid 80's, called the synthaxe - but that cost $6000.

Allan Holdsworth was a fan of it.

  • No lo leas no lo leas!!no leas esto!!si lo has leído copia y pega esto en 5 videos mas si no lo haces tu madre morirá en 3 dias por favor hacerme caso es una mald

  • sounds like pure sh iiiit

  • NICE!!! Price?

  • @Yunyan00100 < or = $200

  • I'm definitely considering one of these, not as a guitar, but rather as a guitar based synth controller. I've been playing guitar for close to 10 years and write a lot of music, but I've been kinda limited on synths because I can't play the keys and haven't taken the time to learn. There are some very good VSTi synths out there, and this might be just the thing I need to really use them.

  • I play real guitar....but this seems like fun haha...

  • Whats up Will Lewellyn from California.....How you doing??

  • way to fail at the easiest solo of all time jackass

  • They are ruining the guitar/music industry with this junk! My childhood has all but faded away now. Oh, and I wouldn't be caught dead playing that in-between my classes.

  • Must be really expensive.

  • I play real guitar, but this looks cool... I don't think this kind of "instrument" are for people who are so lazy to play guitar, because the player have to know at least the basic chords to make it sound good.

Maybe the best use for this controller is as a MIDI device to record keyboard lines, because people who play the guitar maybe can't play keyboards.

  • Ga! Shit its alright but when he put that distortion on it it went shit! Just get a real guitar, this sounds like a electric piano getting strangled by Chuck Norris while he was roundhouse kicking it in the face!

  • wow...thats some cool shit...i sort of want one...

  • yea but what happenes if the strings break???

  • Looks like... Sounds like... and Feels like... nothing close to a real guitar.

    Buy a REAL guitar people...

  • thats pretty badass haha but you should learn real guitar

  • Its handy for midi work though as a controller for composing using a PC sequencer and save a fortune on buying a midi pickup etc

  • This is pretty cool, but you can learn the real thing for the same price or maybe even cheaper.

  • frankly spoken, the guitar sounds sound worse than on my yamaha keyboard with general midi 1 - this is less than a guitar and less than a keyboard- folks, please learn to play REAL instruments...

  • @tomm0rello , it could work better with Eastwest's MOR

  • i actually sortof want this. i play real guitar, but seeing that this is so much into one.

  • can u use a capo on it?

  • Can you bend the strings at the fret?????????

  • OMG ! What is that jacket ?

  • now i can play dragonforce

  • are there any other guitar midi controllers out there?

  • i know theres alot of dissing on this product from real musicians but as far as tuning purposes i feel its a bigtime advantage. How often do people play and the guitar keeps going out of tune? I dont know about yall but to me eventually it becomes a pain in the ass. or just useful for quick tuning. Yea it dont look as cool as a regular guitar but for situations like tuning it helps. But thats just my opinion.

  • ill just stick to my Ibanez this is lame! lol

  • A real guitar will teach much more and sound more authentic but this is AWESOME as just a "controller" for a game. Plus it has MIDI and USB so you dont have to buy a super expensive real guitar or extra hardware..

  • Now hold on guys - there's a real USE to this thing... maybe it's not a replacement for a real guitar, but imagine using it to play the guitar SOUNDS in Garageband - and perhaps (?) play it into a notation program to transcribe TAB for your students or something. A VERY inexpensive alternative to a MIDI guitar interface for certain purposes. I want one.

  • It's just a piece of shit with electronics inside.. but it's interesting

  • What a stupid waste of plastic. Learn to play a real guitar and stop being a bunch of pricks. Anyone who buys this is a retard. Sounds terrible.

  • @RealTomSawyer I totally agree. There is nothing more annoying than people who think they are musicians because they play a stupid computer game. Put the plastic down and buy a strat.

  • Comment removed

  • If this was able to respond to bend's on the actual strings it could be a semi-usable guitar midi controller. But as it stands i don't quite see the point. It's not a guitar, it's not a games controller and it's not a decent midi guitar either. What is it?

  • that smells like solo sucks dude

  • I myself know how to play a real guitar but i cant help to play around with this idk it might be fun to mess around with so yeah it to my opinion is not to be confused with a real one but it is always fun to mess around with something new

  • why did the guy kept playing that bad sounding Em chord

  • you mid aswell lern the real thing instead of being a poserrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • @dilldonic

    HAHAHA,

    Awsome.!!

  • @dilldonic Nonsense. Anything that makes music makes music.

People called electric guitars "not real" too. Now they are canonical instruments. If you can be creative on it, it's a real instrument. I don't care if it's sold as a toy.

Did you know that John Cage wrote concerti for toy piano? People who are so self-certain that they make pronouncements about what's "real" and what's not "real" when it comes to art only manage to demonstrate their own shortcomings.

  • @P0peRatz0

i agree, i think this is a great idea, but i would have included somem tuner pegs, even if its just for aesthetic reasons.

  • @P0peRatz0 I think you're right, while i would prefer a normal electric, this one would be nice to add to your collection, its awesome.

  • @P0peRatz0

yes but with electric guitars you still are technically playing them, this makes playing "guitar" easier then it should be, sure its a real instrument, but this, and i'm sure others will agree with me, is no guitar

  • @P0peRatz0 Right. It's just a guitar shaped midi keyboard.

No-one would complain if it was keyboard shaped.

  • @BJMonkey You're talking over the heads of 95% of the people watching this video, words like "Keyboard" and "Midi" go right over their heads. Use words more like 'suck' and 'stupid' and you might be on their levels..........I know I'm buying one of these things.

  • @dilldonic you "mid aswel lern" how to type on youtube.

  • @dilldonic You, my friend, might want to learn some English, instead of being a illiterate retarrrrrrrrrrd (or try using a spellchecker).

P.S. - totally agree, this ... thing is totally pointless, i.e. sucks ass.

  • @dilldonic You have to know how to play real guitar to know how to play is when you aren't doing rockband. How the fuck are the owners "posers"? He obviously are ready knows how to play guitar. You are fucking retarded.

  • @dilldonic You might as well learn how to spell and use correct grammar. I seriously can't tell what you're saying.

  • @dilldonic hmmmm, if you don't know how to play guitar the only thing this thing is good for is a game controller....so your argument is kinda pointless....I use it on Garageband alot....and I actually have a guitar....

  • this thing sounds like a synthesized piece of crap. dont confuse this with a real guitar.

  • It's $199.00 from the "You Rock Guitar" website.

On ebay, there is currently one, its used, $150.00, free shipping, and no bids currently.

    Your welcome :)

  • @SuperVuvuzelas thank you :)

  • how much

  • @weezyfan25 200$

  • how much and when?

  • dude this shit is awesome :D its a piece of heaven XD

  • OK so finally we know that Chillafrilla is Will Lewellyn !
