    .

Today's music is not music - it's mu-sick! Since the satanists took over the industry, Music is no longer made for the masses of people to enjoy - it is made to complete an agenda!

  • @HorChild I am happy to see U R an aware being.

I think we need an underground to keep instruments alive in music.

Kids are claiming computers can make all of the sounds...

even the noise a vinyl record makes.

It will be sad if the electricity fails for them...

Then we will come Funkin by them :)

  • Fra i miei preferiti, quanti ricordi, ma lo ascolto ancora, all the best from Corrado Mazzallo.

  • CLASSIC!!! Big up JAMAICA 'n' all my fellow YAAWDIANS

  • @mackerel81 It's to Jamaica NY, USA, not the country Jamaica. They're all Americans.

  • Its funny how some singers that sound like Chaka also look like her too...Vesta Williams, Toni Smith

  • Is that the same lady on Thighs High?

  • Wait a dam minute! I had no idea there was a video...where does this stuff hide at!

Still FUNKY after all this time!

  • masterpiece!

  • pure

  • this is such a awesome song! feel the funk!

  • LOVE IT!

  • Tonni Smith is the female singer of this song but she sounds a lot chaka kahn. go to ms smiths home page

  • not really

  • Bolt running the second WR in Berlin! Why? Jamaica Funk, that's what it is!

  • G-Damm!!! sound like this ladies voice is better then Chaka Kahn.......... Great Funkin Video

  • better than Chaka? I doubt it, like many other Chaka impersonaters she's pretty good...but definately not anywhere near Chaka who is the original voice to "her" own sound.

  • Check Robbie Rivera - First the groove, it contains a sample from Funkin for Jamaica. It's Great!!!!

  • Good PV!

  • This song just does something to me everytime I hear it!! Love it!

  • I finished my freshman year in college when this song came out. Very good memories!

  • FUNKY

  • lol, kept singing this song to my aunt when she was going to Jamaica, LOL.

  • Chaka Khan?

  • Wow...I grew thinking that the vocalist in the song was Chaka Khan; the ironic thing is, is that I only came across this great throw back jam bcuz I was watching Chaka's videos & this was in the side window. I miss these days...just funky!

  • I was just listening to the cover Mariah Carey did in 2001 and they're both great...I'm tellin' ya if it wasn't for the Glitter album I wouldn't be so interested in early 80's music...

  • This was soo much fun . I was there and we as a band traveled with this same spirit and respect for eachother for 2 years. WOW You have no idea and today it still grooves. Peace

  • Comment removed

  • Hype, I wasn't even thinking of being born when this came out, nonetheless, this hype!!

  • Truely a great classic, thanks for posting. Tom Browne was the shit back then, and Toni Smith could sing her fine ass off.....peace

  • Tuesday night parties at the Apothecary. Underground Atlanta. Free bus ride to and from campus. Circa 1981. Holla back!

  • When I BLAST this in my 93 NSX on the Alpine ... well ... it's like everyone's already said ... it's classic but imagine how it sounds on my system going 140 mph :)

  • i love that mariah carey used this song for Glitter.

  • Classic jam!

  • trop bon son

  • man that horn is so damn awesome , long live trumpet players. aint nobody these days use brass

  • This song is a flat out Jam. This along with most of the great jams of this time all have a little bit of that great sexy CHIC sound. Bernard Edwards you where the best.

  • Thanks to MTV for making this available back in the early Eighties. These guys were pioneers of the Music Videos you see today, Five Stars all the way across the board. Love the Trumpet, and all the Musicians worked hard and had fun back then, no Computerized crap like you see today, These guys had Talent and worked hard at it.

  • OH! YEAH! Damn doesn't get any better than this HORN baby, Used to drop this to packed houses in the 80's clubs..DJA

  • All these years, i've never know what he looked like! This son was the bomb in HS!

  • does anyone know where to find this sheet music?

  • go away with your Metal and rock shit ..punk !!!

    this tune is hot !

  • LMAO. your wrong. but very funny

  • yeah he's definately wrong lol lol lol

  • anybody know the lyrics of this song? I CAN´T FOUND IT. THANKS!!!!!!

  • I bought this song years ago and it still sounds great!!

    :)

  • Man--This video brings back a lot of good memories of the 80's. Wow!! A real live band who can really play insruments!! --I prefer this music over the regurgitated crap these kids are putting out today.

  • D sick, on the bus, waiting to hit Jamaica (Queens) leading me to the E or F train, to 6th Ave in the Village...grabbing a taxi to 5th st. and Ave. B.

And hearing this song in my head, gave me the strength to make that 1 1/2 hour trip. all I think about...as I was "Funkin' For Jamaica" JR

  • I love this song and once again, Mariah Carey did remake it perfectly!

  • This song is tight more than 25 years later. As fine as she is she sounds like Chaka (who's also still fine). The Clark Sisters sampled this beat for "Livin"

  • This is a great video. How and where can I buy a copy of this performance

  • I think no cover ever will surpass this 'direct hit', performed by Tom Browne and the incredible sexy star singer Toni Smith. I still remember the first time I heard this funky song when I was aged 10! And the video shown on the Dutch program 'Toppop' meant a really sexual revolution towards every growin up boy, I guess. Wonder what became of Tom and especially Toni. I heard she also did the vocals of the '88 hit from S-Express. However, they somewhat twisted her voice, then.

  • What became of Tom Browne was he works with me at Mountain air cargo, flying an Atr aircraft. He is a fed ex feeder pilot. He brings hir Trumpet with him and practices with the mute inside the aircraft when we are on the ground.

  • That singer sexy as hell!!

  • Toni Smith in vocals: She sounds just like CK. Great!

  • Thats one funky white boy up on the horn y' know they dont make em like that no more

  • Tom is not white, but i agree he is funky. i work with him. he is a musician and a commercial pilot. He is a Captain at Mountain air cargo.

  • classic old skool 1 of my favs...dont make them like this anymore :(

  • this is a great song. one of our members is from JA

  • The MOTHER of all bass lines.

  • Ain't nothing like it around!!!

  • toni rulez !

  • the line dance only makes the song better

  • today SHIT, aint got SHIT on THIS!!!

  • This song was a hit in the UK before it was a hit in the US.1980.

  • you r so wrong

  • I loved the line dance to this song

  • That must have been the woman that gave me my first big boner. God she's soo sexy

  • They just havin fun and wildin...damn i wish i was grown during those times...but i came 8 year late:D

  • Looking at the comment by nikidijawen it was released in the US in 1979 then in the UK in 1980

  • I bought this single when I was 16 in 1980 at Boots the chemist - We used to the title by a slightly different name Lol

  • one of the many classics ... pure 80s funk ... im thankfull that my cousin was playing me these ... thanx Niko ...

  • This song wasn't released in 1981. It was released in 1980, at least, if not 1979 as one poster already seemed to have said.

  • I was just contemplating the music of '81-from this to say PIL, A Certain Ratio, South Bronx, rap on the Enjoy label-. it's endless

  • Haven't seen a blue wifebeater in awhile!!!!

  • funky or what great tune

  • after the first horn, talking, then and instrument that sounds like a deep bass? or some kind of keyboard?I'm just wondering what instrument that is?

  • had this record, when I first went to N.Y. in "79" got there at 6:30am, first thing I thought of was this song. what a voice on her, I would love to hear how she sounds when she talks, I cant believe her voice, its like eating something so rich.

  • all of it, at first that horn by itself, then them talking (like you see people sitting and talking on there steps watching the people go by etc.)and those horns.

  • Great track. What a bass line, sleezy groove, hot chick...

  • This is my favorite "old school get up shake your ass" song. I am so happy to have found this video.

  • This is TRUE funk

  • You aint neva lyin..these kids today just don't realize what they missed in 80's music. REAL Funk/Soul/R&B/Hip-Hop. They'll try to discredit the "original" s***, but will big up some wack ass "sampled" version of it & don't see the illogic in that..

  • Perfect Funk

  • This tune has to be the most funky ever. Tom Browne is young! In fact all of them young. I always imagined they were sophisticated jazz musicians just playing around!

  • sexy and funky!!! i get a high when i listen to this song!!! awesome!!!

  • The first time i heard this song I was 18 years old sittin up in my room listening to an old school radio station and when this song came on I was like wow! Im 19 now and am so glad that I keep an open mind about what i listen to cuz this song is a straight classic!!!

  • i'm glad i'm too young to have dressed like them. boy the 80's were a real expressive era. :-)

  • This was my cut back in the day!! I LOVE OLD SCHOOL

  • One of the if not, the best funk tune!

  • Toni Smith (lead vocals) is so funky!!

  • I know most of us at some point in our lives thought Toni Smith was Chaka Khan singing leads.

  • omg, I was totally just searching Chaka Khan for this song, too!

  • haha i found mariah's song with mystikal & damn it sounds the same

  • ur right, I did.......lol

  • always love hearing this song!
