  • send TAB pls :S

  • Very nice job! have you a tab?

  • a man (or woman) who loves steve morse is a good person! ^^

  • great job! Do u have some backing track for this or u just play along with original record?

  • Where did you find the tabs ?

  • Best version on youtube!

  • Steve is superb!!

You play very well, the degree of difficulty to play this is very high!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    cheers from Argentina

  • Steve morse is amazing, i met him yesterday and hes also a great guy ( :

Keep up the good work, very impressive!

  • I just had an eargasm when I heard this for the first time live. MAGIC!

  • No one can play like Steve Morse, well I saw some guitarists that are as skilled as him, doesn't they want to play like him, but still Lenny Breau played like no other and since then no could ever play like him. He's a real genius of the guitar! Steve Morse is awesome still!

  • yeah man ¡

  • ooo great

  • Steve Morse is the best guitarist ever!!! And your cover is good!!

  • then i saw you using it haha

  • awesome dude!!! you need to use that pinky more :O

  • Great!!

Steve Morse is one of my favorite guitar player!

    just a question:

could you tel me what you play from min. 1:40 to min. 1:47?

Because a can't ear whitch notes Steve plays in this part and there's no good tab on web!

    thanks!

  • You honor the name of Steve Morse by playing his signature guitar so well.

  • nice!

can you tell me where you find the tabs for the song?

    and good job:)

  • cool

  • it's alternate

  • One criticism...you may want to lift the camera up more so it's level to the guitar....your crotch is front and center...ah, may want to fix that. :) I have the Smy2d...great guitar indeed

  • Want this guitar so badly!!

  • The beginning has string skipping so use upstrokes and downstrokes. Easiest way to play it and that's how Steve plays as shown in GP newest lessons.

  • It's hard to distinguish any sound other that of Steve's guitar. Is your amp on?

  • I like Morse too cause he keeps DP alive but Ritchie is the master with magic hands, he has a unique style to play the guitar soft and hard together, no matter if rock-guitar or classical in his actual formation.

  • i also think that steve is a better guitarist than ritchie, but i also beleive that ritchie can play classical guitar, bluegrass, jazz and country.. not to mention the fact, that he cofounded a celtic rock band, so i guess he should be able to play celtic style..

  • @mazanylisak01

there are no 'better' guitarists... What are you? in high school? no offense.

All talented musicians famous or not who practiced and have a major passion for their instrument and perform with such soul doesn't need to be known as 'better' since they're good. It's confusing to explain, I could have elaborated more, but I don't have time right now.

  • well played. you are good. @ the blakmore bit in your description: saying ritchie cant play different stuff/different guitars, i think you never heard of blakmores night :/

  • While I agree with the comment in your video description about Morse, you have Blackmore wrong.

You do realise Blackmore is classically trained, don't you? Have you heard any of his recent material? Heard any of his very old material?

  • Steve = God.

  • Steve Morse is the BEST!!!

  • Whoever gave this less than four stars needs to have their youtube account suspended. This is incredibly well done, especially the ending. Also cool that it's the same guitar Morse uses. Great job!

  • you are amazing, but i don't like your sound and you should smile lol, but really i enjoy your vidéos, thanks

  • hey thats some pretty impressive playing, can i ask where you got the sheet music/tab as i would like to learn it myself

  • Thanks for all the comments guys! I haven't posted a comment in over a year or so because I now have a 15 month old son and I am engaged as well so needless to say my life has changed a lot. haha

  • if i had one bit of your playing (im not speaking about steve) i wouldnt have to work!!! man you play sooo cool.... you must be a super fan of steve morse! bye...

  • holy shit, can i like....have ur hands lmao

  • your play is so cool!!!

    awesome!!!

  • Incredible playing!! You're awesome! Congratulations!

  • Мля,бэст! Аффтар жгёт!)

  • smart ass, oh yeah learn to spell "replied" you wrote "replyed".

  • i don't even know why i replied to your stupid comments, pffftt, im outa here to work, good luck kid. haha

  • That's what I am asking to me as well..why have I replyed to your comment? life's strange..

  • and that comment you posted "but Blackmore'g got more charisma and personally " blackmore from what i hear was a total ass that friends that i know met him, he plays then leaves. im done comparing but steve morse is more open on stage and actually has smiles and you can see its always new since his style is so much more wide then blackmores playing for me is to predictable. nuff said!

  • amazing awesome steve morse forever

  • No man, u are ridiculous saying that Ritchie isn't as great as Steve Morse...just two different styles...Ritchie can play celtic, classical, blues and all this things...just go and search for Blackmore's Night or Beethoven Deep Purple on youtube and u'll find out

  • I grew up listening to Ritchie and playing his stuff. I still love him but he is nowhere near the player that Steve is.

  • I am not saying Morse is a sucker. totally not, he's awesome and should be more internationally recognised, better than many other known guitarists out there. But Blackmore is a legend and he has a different style. Morse is better than Blackmore in his style, and Blackmore better than Morse in his one. They are just different. Some thing like that can be found in the question "Who's better: Deep Purple or Elton John?" They are just different ;)

  • While saying who is the "best" player is subjective and pretty nuch impossible you really can not put it that way. If that was the case than every player is the beterer than every other player simply because they are not identical. Steve's technique is considerably better than Ritchie's and he draws his influences from a much wider spectrum of styles.

  • Wow, nice typo. That was supposed to say "If that was the case than every player is better than every other player simply because they are not identical.

  • I don't think so...I think that one of the best songs Morse ever recorded is Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming and I really love it (except for the funkying interlude that has nothing to do with the whole song) but I think that it can be compared to Soldier Of Fortune or Catch The Rainbow by Blackmore and it's difficult to choose the best one, just because they are simply excellent. What I am saying is that yes Morse is an excellent player but Blackmore'g got more charisma and personally

  • When speaking of Steve playing classical it isn't talking about playing rock versions of classical pieces, it was talking about playing actual classical guitar, which is not to be confused with just playing a nylon-stringed guitar or playing basic fingerstyle. It also isn't that he can play a classical, celtic, or blues song, it is that you can find the influences of those and other styles in everything he plays.

  • As a guitarist, that he puts more of his soul in wath he plays. I think that that is the most important thing to do. I'll choose Malmsteen as best guitarist but the thing is that he doesn't put his soul into his songs and that is important

But as said, there are no bests in the best ones...;)

  • was ritchie voted best overall guitarist five years in a row? i didn't think so.

  • That doesnt mean anything

  • actually it does. don't argue with me.

  • That's just a group of people who voted and expressed their opinion, that's not the voice of truth. Those people could be experts but aren't the truth, so...

And btw you know they also voted Kurt Cobain as most influent guitarist and they put Eddie Van Halen, Malmsteen around the 70th place?

That just to make you see how this is TRUTH

  • the truth? and where did you hear this???

it seems allot like soloist guitarist get left out of the picture. when it comes to crappy magazines like rolling stone mag and guitar world, ha couple years ago guitarworld had some lessons from steve morse, i bet since hes now the guitarist for deep purple (RockNroll band). what im trying to say allot of people pay to much attention to rockNroll type of stuff then a soloist.

  • have you my the tab's? sorry for my english i can't ...

  • You play well. Very well, but the camera angle might scare people away.

  • id rather see your face than your balls....but you play good!!

  • dude, ide only be convinced if u did it without the music!

  • Very good !!! But you´ll have to leran to play only with your wrist not with all your arm

  • VERY GOOD!!

  • good stuff but... id like to see players like you play some of there own stuff not just covers and signature licks..

its good to have idols and stuff but i think the thing that makes a great guitarist is the originality in there playing.. feel and almost perfection. thats what makes hendrix, angus, santana, morse and many more so great.

but it shows you practice lots your awesome :)

  • very well man, excelent, I love that song, can you help to play it, please?????

  • i want you to PLEASE tab the part after intro you play first 1 3 5 than 3 5 6 than 6 8 10 and then this going up on high strings after 6 8 10, in tab on oficial Steve Morse site this moment is tabbed in one position and it sux alot playing it like this; So if you please find some time and tab this, i would really aprecciate it. Greetings

  • im doing this for my gig in three months can't wait!

  • where did you get the tab?

  • awesome dude!

looks playable... i'll try it out, too.

  • wow, awsome :)

  • do you pick the first part: down up down up down or down down up up down?

  • All alternate picking dude:)

  • thanks ; )

  • and one more thing, where did you get the backing track!? =p

  • WOW, 5 stars for you. Hey ive a question, at 01:40, how did you get that tone, i tried myself and those string skipping notes simply jus ring. thus with distortion, i cant hear the individual notes ;( And btw where did you get the tab? really appreciate if you could share it with me ;)

  • stevemorse (dot) com

  • yeah! every one can teach or what ever listen or check thous tabs ... but you play that song excellent or what ever... you rock... im so wasted so i cant write, but you rock

  • hey man, do you hold down on the high E when you do that hybrid style picking, or do you release it, cause im working on this song For A Gig Coming Up this spring, now & Im pretty Far Into The Song and i want to make sure i do it right

  • yea i have no idea what you're talking about man.

  • ummm... what are you talking about? hes playing it right, well i have no idea what your talking about.

  • that does not really matter to me, steve is a 6 time grammy award winner, voted best overall guitarist 5 times in a row, they had to take him down cause they need A new winners.

    enough comparing!!!

  • the tabs they put on the steve morse site for this a wrong at this part 00:28 you playin the right way, i had to do this by ear, its a pain when people put up the wrong tabs..

  • hello

you re not easy looking but you re a really fantastic guitar player!!

  • Your balls are showing...BUMBLE BEE TUNA!!!

    Nice playing

  • You can shred dude, that's beautiful. One of my fave Morse-era DP songs.

  • Ok. This was AWESOME dude. YOu're VERY good.

  • Well steve IS great, but Blackmore.. You know he's a living legend, and first ''fast'' guitarist in world.

  • Prolly never heard about Maclaughlin, Steve Howe or many others I could listsay.

  • Of course i've heard about them dude. There both 2 of my biggest influences for sure. Steve Morse is more versatile than both of them however. I've listened to all the stuff by both of them. Yes, Mahavishnu, shakiti, all the solo stuff they did. Their both incredible. Maybe you should check out more of Morse's catalog. You might change your opinion

  • darn great!

  • Great playing!

  • gordo sedentario buchechudo

  • vai-te foder paneleiro!

  • fala "vai-SE fuder".... e mehlor

  • "Let's see if ritchie can play classical guitar, bluegrass, jazz, country, and celtic style guitar."

Ritchie sold more than 50 millions records. So?!...I dont agree with you but your playing is fantastic. I've apprecited your "Air on a 6 strings" maybe one of the most difficult song ever wrote for guitar

  • I hear ya. I was speaking of who is more proficient and well-rounded guitarist. Let's face there are millions of artists who have sold more records than Morse has. Limp Biskit, Korn, Linkin Park, and many other atrociously awful bands have more sales. That's why todays' generation of music is absolutely degrading:(

  • man !it's a very hard music to play !!! you are great really !! my dream, one day is to buy this guitar, you're guitar, and i hope that this day came very soon !! keep this !! can you give me your version (tabs) of this track by a personal message please !! ++

  • ha! thats sicko good, how long did it take you to learn? also, on the arpeggiated bits (like the start), do you play 4 semi-quavers? or is it just 3 notes?

  • I actually don't quite remember how long it took. A few days perhaps. The end section is one of the most difficult things to play on the guitar. You can get the tab on Steve's website:) However, a lot of the tab is innacurate so i transcribed nearly half of the piece. haha

  • You're a beast

  • Good stuff, dude.

    This song kicks arse live.

  • how did u learn that dude i always want 2 play well dressed guitar

  • My opinon is the same as yours dude...(Refering to your Desciprtion about richie)

  • Check of my cover of sometimes i feel like Screaming and comment please... if you would?

  • hahahahahahah alex thx for all the kind words my fellow student. ha.... by the way criticism is a very important thing. Hopefully it's constructive tho. One of my professors at berklee, Julien Kasper, once told me during a solo i did in a guitar lab "hey ed, that was complete shit". I couldn't have agreed more with him cuz he know i was capable and his words only inspired me to become a better player:)

  • ...SHRED THAT SHIT!!!!!!!!!! no social life payed off didnt it man. =D btw everyone if you criticize his hard work you wil have to personaly speak with me first so i can kick your ass.

  • very good!!

  • thx for the compliments everyone. I got the tab from Steve's website. However, a lot of the parts in the tab are inaccurate. So i transcribed nearly half of it myself. haha

  • i have that guitar thinking of trying to finish this solo... awesome Job!

  • Oh my god !!! XD

  • one word...Awesome!!!!

  • I'm not familiar with this song by Morse. But it seemed you handled the lines very well. I just didn't care much for your tone.

  • Nice! I Have The Same Guitar. :)

  • where did you get the tabs?

  • dude you fkin rock!

  • Holy $#%&...

  • Very nice

  • It's great to see someone paying tribute to such a great guitarist, and doing it well at that.

  • Thanks for the kind words my friend.
