  • Cheekbones for days. She's gorgeous.

  • Very beautiful, very unusual song. Just discovered it while looking through her discography; it deserved to be a much bigger hit than it was!

  • DAMN!!!....this sound is so timeless!!...wish we could produce this today....but at least we can remember it when music was 'real' and not manufactured like a 'pop factory!!'...

  • @acallender58 Unfortunately you're absolutely right!...This is an 80's Pop/Soul/R&B gem and ironically, I must add, very much alike to american Pop/R&B of the time! It's really sad because this type of situation still happens nowadays! I don't know why but americans seem to discard their own real black music foundation culture!...:-(

  • I will give her an award! no matter what , within my Soul!

  • She made the Top of the Pops. yay. i was so proud when i saw her perform on that show. Go Donna!

  • Beautiful and talented.

  • YOWSA! I WANA HAVE DINNER WITH 'DONNA' hehe! Oh man just Dreaming. Such a Beautyfull creature, makes me glad i have the eyes of a Man.

  • Donna Summer....TRUE LEGEND.

  • I wanna have dinner with no additives.

  • "I wanna talk theory with Curie." Clever.

  • Glad to see she's not wearing that awful black tutu and leather jacket (for once) in this clip! And this is an impossible CD to acquire now.

  • Donna Summer is the best female singer in the world. This is coming from

    a (very aware) American.

  • I liked it then & I still like it now!

  • @acallender58 The album was very good, especially the song fascination. Yeah sorry most Americans were sleep on this one. They were lost in Rap!!!!!

  • Gosh, I can't believe that this song is 23 yrs old!

  • I LOVE this song much, it's just fantastic, every time I listen to "Dinner with Gershwin" I feel like I'm back the 80's, this song has that magic & wonderful atmosphere about it, SUPERB xXx

  • She is truly incredible!!!!!

  • sorry for throwing up that night Rob!

  • love it!!!!!!!!

  • I'd let her...

  • Christ almighty, she would GET it.

    Proper woman.

  • I so agree with you!!! Americans take not of an INCREDIBLE SINGER!!!

  • Wow! she is so sexy. i rememeber watching this back then on TOTP. i was 18. Christ they were great times...

  • @TheGodParticle

Agreed, very beautiful. She is REALLY cute and adorable performing this song. BIG Donna Summer fan. Great song!

  • same way with lisa stansfield...

  • i love the 80s!!!

  • I saw an interview with Donna Summer when she was promoting this song.... The interviewer asked her which Gershwin she wanted to have dinner with. By the confused look on her face, it was obvious that not only did she NOT know their names....She didn't even know they were two brothers - George & Ira.

  • I love Donna Summer, and I love this song.

  • Donna was changing with the times.......she is very versatile

  • Yes, and in bed.... she's also Versatile!

  • my jam back in the day

  • e.w.f. faces said: "actually this was her best song ever."

    agreed!

sick rhythm arrangement and slick synth texutres and brenda russell the songsmith.

    her best song.

  • donna is a classic!

  • Love it...it really has a '80s feeling...

  • this was unrivalled classic tune

  • I loved this song way back then. Thanks for posting x

  • too bad Americans were ready to welcome Donna back until 1989, but at least the British had sense and made this a big hit

  • well said !

  • Sometimes stars have to reinvent themselves and this is a classic example of how it can work to best effect, not her usual thing but great song, arrangement, and performance probably the best move she ever made.

  • bionda pure

vabbeh tutte le tinte, tagli e capigliature ha fatto ogni anno... brav a ess

    fortissima song cmq

  • Donna Summer is the Carol Vorderman of pop!

  • Do not knock Donna down as her career happened to go into this direction like so many other female soul singers during this period.

    The game was changing.

  • i dont like when she sings in that frog like voice, this was a terrrible song choice

  • I tend to agree, but the song itself is pretty good, the problem is the arrangement. If you hear the song sung by the woman who wrote it (the talented Brenda Russell) you'll hear what I mean. Summer is not good at funk.

  • no the plain fact is taht the 70s were her time of shining...not really the 80's as much thats why she couldnt really get ahead

  • she might not be all that good at funk...but if u listen to this song... youll kind ofagree that it sounds a little like some disco...i think disci is what brought out the 80's sound...but i love this song too much

  • she might not be a great performer but she can half wiggle. and obviously you never saw her do i love to love you baby

  • for non UK people Top of the pops was a music show that ran 1964-2006 on the BBC here in the United Kingdom

  • In the 80's the UK was the shit. Man all the good hits came from the uk

  • i love this song.that change is happening.

  • Great track

  • I really like this song but I am shocked at her awful dancing!

  • She was never a great performer.

  • Past tense?! She is still alive!

  • sooo not true

  • i'm a big fan of donna but i don't care for this song. just blah

  • I used to feel the same way, but after listening to it a few times, I found myself singing along to it, then the next thing I knew, I loved the song!

  • Donna Summer looks like my ex girl friend watching this video makes me think of her i wanna cry it makes me think of how much i miss her and realize that she is the only one for me in my life

  • è BRAVA!!!

  • Well I love it, it takes me back to those days!

  • I totally disagree. I love this album! And I especially love this song.

  • I disagree also...I love this song! It is a very unique song.

  • Its one of the finest songs I've ever heard,

reminds me of Stevie Wonder very superstitious & She is "The" most beautiful woman I ever saw on top of the pops:)

  • the album was bad. This song was good

  • It's Summer-Summer Time! She's never been better!

  • I love Donna Summer. She is the one that had me singing before I could talk.

  • This song was about her fantasies being with people and places long gone in history!

  • there's a segment in this song that i've always hated and think totally destroyed whatever potential this song had as hit for donna. it's the part that sounds similar to when pac man is eaten by the ghost (sorry that's the best way i can describe it). it works great in the arcade game but totally destroyed this song. whenever i hear that part it makes me wince.

  • I think what you are referring to is Gershwin's part of this song. Without that part, this song is nothing

  • This song is great even without that part

  • I stand corrected and hypocritical I noticed. This song truly is great no matter what.

  • yeah it is

  • LOL. Yeah I see what you and that always gave me this unusual awkward feeling of annoyance, really. Overall it's not her best at all.

  • Your very luck to have met her, i think she's gorgeous i would have asked her out for a drink.

  • great song written by brenda russell. Have to say that Brenda's version is better. It has more of a funky sound to it. But I do like Donna's version as well. Met her in brentwood, tennessee a couple of years back where I used to work. Nice woman!

  • Anyone got the Video for Fascinataion? Now there was an awesome song she sang with Emotion.

  • love the song. thanx for posting. bring back the 80s

  • Fantastic. Love this song. Thanks for posting.

  • Beautiful.

  • Is she lip syncing in this? Looks like it.

  • OMG!! This was the stuff. Man 20 years...wow. I still have this freaking 12 inch. Thanks for posting this video.

  • She sounds like Jody Watley

  • Great song.....these were the days when people mimed on totp as donna summer is doing (not very good though!)

  • I love this period. This track and "All systems go' were played in my house for weeks and weeks!!

  • love this song, my favourate after This time i know it's for real. She is a great singer, saw the video to this a couple of years ago on VH1

  • i love this song. i'm only 18 though

  • Aaaaaah! 1987! Reminds me of my stint in the army in a very different South Africa - and, of course, my first boyfriend from that time! I am now filled with grief-stricken nostalgia!

  • Great tune! I wish I could find "I Don't Wanna Get Hurt" on YouTube somewhere. Anybody? Help!

  • whow i was looking for some video of that song I JUST LOVE THAT ONE, thanks for posting that one ,hugs from Brazil!

  • they do not make music like this anymore. i miss the good old days

  • Fall of 1987.... wow the memories! thanks for posting!

  • yeah fantastic song and great memories to it when i was a 10 year old, awesome!
