If they were looking to make the chracters in the show like the characters in the book then it would be impossible because PAuley PErette is already in show. And i kinda think that Jane Rizzoli was kinda like Clarice Starling. A woman law enforcment officer who always has to prove herself to the male majority that surrounds her.
The point is that the BASE of what each character STANDS for (not what they LOOK like) is being portrayed. Forget what Jane Rizzoli is suppose to look like. Her character on the show portrays a strong female woman whi against all odds is part, and a succesful part, of a MALE dominated world. Same with Dr. Isles.
I think it's lame how people bitch about the fact that they made the characters on the show more appealing to the eye than the characters on the books truly are. You know what kind of message you're sending? That to be a strong female you have to be ugly ass hell and a total outcast. That if you're the slightest bit good looking you won't be taken seriously as a strong woman because all anyone's ever going to take notice of is that you're a pretty face. The point is that the BASE of what each c
Will the show come to the UK at some point?-And does the show follow the books or are they completely different?
I got one of Gerritsen's books at christmas, two weeks later i had bought every medical and thriller book she wrote, they are all fabulous! cant wait for The Silent Girl to be released.
Ah come on Gerritsen, they raped your books and you know it.
They changed everything to Hollywood standards. They made Isles blonde, I mean wtf.
But more importantly once again, they have portrayed two beautiful girly women. This was their chance to have a regular looking but awesome strong female character and they blew it. Nice message they're sending out.
I honestly didn't know about the books before (shame on me) but since the series I've become a big fan of Tess Gerritsen's work and I've started collecting her thrillers who are just breathtakingly awesome!

@wolfke1979 I just got into Gerritsen's thrillers starting with the Surgeon. I already finished 2 books in 2 weeks, they're that compelling to read.
