Sorry, but there's just no heart in this version of 'Yes'. Totally phoning it in. And Benoit still creeps me out. Don't know why. Maybe he should try being a 1st rate Benoit and not a 3rd rate Jon Anderson.
they sound like the copy band, but I still love YES, hope Jon can write some more music with the only true Yes line up.Get better Jon. Jon sounds good on his own tour ....Peace
I love Yes. Been a big fan since mid -70's. I dont get into which Yes is the best Yes because it just doesnt make sense to me but what I see here is unprecedented and quite amazing. This new lineup consists of members who are pale imitations of former original members. They are ripping off the look, manerisms and styles of thier predecessors. Does Rick Wakeman's kid have to have the Rick Wakeman haircut? Does the Jon clone need to move and imitate Jon? Be yourself. Totally embarassing.
Everybody who went to see a Yes concert knows it brings shivers down your spine when you hear the opening Firebird suite and Yes shows up on stage.......the lights go on and you see..........Benoit :s.....what a desillusion lol
i've seen many versions of YES since 1979...seen this version 3 times now. Verdict; they NEED JON!!!! It just isn't the same. Benoit can hit the notes but so can I....Jon is the true spirit of YES and I won't see them again without him.
I fully agree that YES is NOT YES without Jon. Out of respect, Queen would NEVER have gone out with the name QUEEN without Freddie even if he was alive and just out of the picture (tributes and other appearances don't really count -the band officially folded). It's respect for the band's legacy, and most of all respect for the fans that followed and supported them for many years. Go out there with a new name - fine. Just retire the name. It's the right thing to do.
I don't know if i'm out of line here, but Yes have had many many lineup changes. was Yes not Yes when Trevor Rabin was there and not Steve Howe for example.....
@KOSMICKEN09 Correct. But honestly, Trevor Rabin and Trevor Horn before him, brought something (musical creative skills) to the band other than just being someone that imitates the original singer very well (even dressing like him...wtf?). That for me, my friend, is a joke and an insult to their fans. Until David doesn't prove himself and show us what he's really made of, for me he'll always be the caricature of Jon in a band that wrongly still calls itself YES.
@KOSMICKEN09 Fine, man. Me? I took a rain check this time they were around. And I've seen them every time they have toured since I was old enough to see them in concert (late 80's). I don't know dude. Maybe you are right and I'm wrong for not supporting them. But really! Touring with a new singer/member, and no new material, is something that Yes has never done before. It seems desperate to me.
@Beistovin Hey retard-nice spelling there. It's 'your'e an idiot'. Maybe I'm just not as emotionally involved w/ this as you guys. Has anyone bothered to see how many people have been in Yes since the late 60's? I loved the Drama lp too so call me lame. Have a nice day.
Everyone who thinks YES should change name to NO after doing a big no no when they dissed Jon when he finally got well, put a thumb up and say yes (YES is only YES with Jon)
@1fisiu In your opinion maybe. I freaking LOVE Drama! Life goes on dude. Trevor Horn has a better chance of coming back. Jon ain't coming back. Get over it.
Just as the other one that the wannabee-Jon was in. They can believe and hope that they still are yes but David is just a impersonator, they are just trying to fill out the void after Jon which can not be filled by anyone except Jon, he is too characteristic. 99% of the fans feel the same. Zero enthusiasm or atmosphere, terrible performance. Just watch this song from 2 years earlier, Montreux 2008 where they rock.
This is about as inspiring as food posioning. I don't really care what the lineup is, but if you are going to charge money for a show at least sound like you as the performer are interested. This is horrible, slow and almost amaturish. This is heartbreaking.
I hate to say this about Steve Howe (great guitarist that he is) but, he's a terrible singer. He's so off key most times. They should turn his mike off when he sings. (Btw, great video).
The 2010 lineup is Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, Oliver Wakeman (Rick Wakeman's son), and the lead singer is Benoît David. Benoit David was fronting a Yes cover band and was chosen to replace Jon Anderson when Jon became ill and unable to tour. I met the band after this show during the "Meet and Greet".

Yes is a musical group that Chris Squire is a part of.
That is the only constant.
