i bought a mac, cost just 3.000$, and i made a photobook! great, right? okay, i had to change some things, so it took me an hour, but still... really worth the money =)
this stuff is actually forbidden in Europa... other companies and their products may not appear in commercials if they appear as something 'negative'.
takes me about 3-4 days to make a good photobook. converting all pictures to cmyk and 300dpi, layouting all to my wishes, send it to print professionally... a really proffesional photobook can never be made in a few minutes. thats just not true...
macs are for little kids wh cant really use computers, but would like to when they grow up... PC's are for real people in the real world doing real things on a real computer... really!

At the end of the day my iMac runs the software I use in my work faster, smoother and more intuitively than it ever did on my old PC. The system is more stable than Windows due to Apple’s tighter control over the configuration options (which unless you are part of the 1% who actually give a shit) is a good thing, and it is by far more powerful than Windows due to its UNIX base.
...And if I should need to use Windows I can, easily.
@heal0111 just because it's based on UNIX doesn't make it more powerful than windows. the systems are, in fact, equally stable. the reason windows happens to crash more is because of badly coded 3rd party software that people download. the OS itself is stable under any circumstances set within itself. and finally, the most probable reason of the programs running better is because of better hardware in comparison to your old PC. it has nothing to do with the OS.
As Unix is more flexible and can be installed on many different types of machines, including main-frame computers, supercomputers and micro-computers. And the FACT that Unix possesses much greater processing power than Windows, Unix is more powerful than windows.
+Software upgrades from Microsoft often require the user to purchase new or more hardware or prerequisite software. That is not the case with Unix.
@heal0111 but unix's flexibility is destroyed by mac being incapable of being installed on anything other than very specific hardware. also, software upgrades from microsoft do not -require- new hardware to be used, it is just recommended. that is, unless it is a new type of software (ie directx 10 vs directx 11). and even if Unix is more powerful than windows, we're at the point in technology where (in regards to home usage) you will never use 100% of either windows' or unix's processing power.

mac has a minimal amount of software and security compared to windows. and the ease of access, at this point, is personal opinion. It's not windows that crashes, it's the crap 3rd party software that people download off the internet that does.
and of course, you bring up the old "you cant afford a mac" argument. most people can afford a mac. it's just stupid as hell to pay out the ass for one, no matter what.
and yes, windows is far more secure than Mac, even with all the viruses. this forces microsoft to up the security on their OS. the biggest thing is though, on windows if you have a virus, you will know. on mac, if you have a virus, you will never know. this is because most mac users don't feel the need to use an AV, and mac OS itself has no virus detection system. windows, however, does. even without AV, windows will help to find the virus.
@gitghetto 'ClamXav' thats my anti-virus. Apple suggested it to me when I got the mac and between then and now my virus history is nil.
With my old PC the viruses still managed to get round the built in anti-virus in Windows 7 and Avast pro so sorry, I'm not buying that Windows is more secure than mac by a long shot.
@heal0111 actually, mac has a large amount of holes in it's security. this may sound stupid, but the amount of viruses has nothing to do with an OS's security. ie: if you were to develop one virus for both windows and mac, both identical in effect, the probability of windows catching the virus before it causes any serious damage is far higher than the likelihood of mac OS ever finding the virus. and aside from the virus standpoint, a mac is easier to break into, no argument.

mac is great if you are a little wannabe graphic artist or video editor. but when you make it to the big boys youll find that avid rules all. What's the point of a photobook, you dont need to put fancy borders to look at them its a waste of time. Macs come with a bunch of shitty programs most of which you dont use and if u want to do it with any skill you would upgrade to better program which you would have to pay for anyway because of this people think it is reasonable to pay way more and because they are pretty.
It takes just a couple of minutes to make a photobook using any software IN THE WORLD. This is a stupid battle since both systems do the same stuff equally goodly!
I can make a photo book of 2,000 photos in a matter of minutes. It may take a LOT of minutes, but I'm still measuring it in minutes so that's all that matters.

as much as i love windows, windows 7 is complete bollocks, its baisicly vista with a different task bar and some fetures that you dont realy need, and looks more lyk a mac now and i personly hate macs layout.... the onli thing changed from vista to 7 is that it doesnt have the alow or unalow (forgot what it actualy was) but it doesnt even pop up that much and its not anoying, at least u no whats going on on ur pc, rather than everything being automatic
@3eneboy I disagree, Windows 7 is far more stable than Vista, the XP feature is useful. Mine has Ubuntu (Linux) on as well so If I need to do Multimedia, I switch to that.
Oakridge you are a bit out . Apple has a 12 -15% market share and Linux has about 5 % (and growing) Windows has about 80%.
Every Mac is an Apple product and their 12% share generated over $1bn profit last year.
Not every PC is Microsoft product. Their 80% share got them $4 billion.

I am a MAC and PC user, I only use the MAC's to learn them.. so I can repair them for customers and help people who are out of warranty.. I make BIG bucks, repairing MAC's, due to the parts are expensive, and well... I can charge more because MAC charges a lot. Example. Replacing a MAC G5 motherboard.. Apples price to fix, 650 USD. My price, 200 USD. Same exact part and labor... why they chargin 450 USD more?? Im comparing apples to apples, not apples to oranges. Stay away from MAC!!!

yes, but i have never had to download drivers for anything on my pc, new drivers come out what are optional, like nvidia im about 3 drivers behind cause i cba to update, my pc runs fine now problems, i have had many compatiblity problems with mac. the only problem i had with compatibily with 7 was my sucurity and it gave me the link to fix it, one free download whats offical to fix anyproblem, yes i know macs dont get virus's but they are on a tiny amount of the market.

and yes, windows is far more secure than Mac, even with all the viruses. this forces microsoft to up the security on their OS. the biggest thing is though, on windows if you have a virus, you will know. on mac, if you have a virus, you will never know. this is because most mac users don't feel the need to use an AV, and mac OS itself has no virus detection system. windows, however, does. even without AV, windows will help to find the virus.

With my old PC the viruses still managed to get round the built in anti-virus in Windows 7 and Avast pro so sorry, I'm not buying that Windows is more secure than mac by a long shot.

@heal0111 actually, mac has a large amount of holes in it's security. this may sound stupid, but the amount of viruses has nothing to do with an OS's security. ie: if you were to develop one virus for both windows and mac, both identical in effect, the probability of windows catching the virus before it causes any serious damage is far higher than the likelihood of mac OS ever finding the virus. and aside from the virus standpoint, a mac is easier to break into, no argument.

@gitghetto Hm. I've used Macs since I was 5, I never got viruses, important crashes, or found it slower than a PC. I use Macs because my parents need Macs because of their work, and I found they were much better than the PC we bought to try out. Despite installing all the necessary precautions, we found Macs to be a lot better. I think I will have to give in and buy a PC tho, the new iMac screen made out of glass is really a nerve-breaker for artists. btw, your argument is very one-sided.

What's the point of a photobook, you dont need to put fancy borders to look at them its a waste of time. Macs come with a bunch of shitty programs most of which you dont use and if u want to do it with any skill you would upgrade to better program which you would have to pay for anyway because of this people think it is reasonable to pay way more and because they are pretty.

as much as i love windows, windows 7 is complete bollocks, its baisicly vista with a different task bar and some fetures that you dont realy need, and looks more lyk a mac now and i personly hate macs layout.... the onli thing changed from vista to 7 is that it doesnt have the alow or unalow (forgot what it actualy was) but it doesnt even pop up that much and its not anoying, at least u no whats going on on ur pc, rather than everything being automatic

Oakridge you are a bit out . Apple has a 12 -15% market share and Linux has about 5 % (and growing) Windows has about 80%.
Every Mac is an Apple product and their 12% share generated over $1bn profit last year.
Not every PC is Microsoft product. Their 80% share got them $4 billion.
It's like comparing a family run chain of resturants making good food at high margins to a pile it high, sell it cheap franchise that sell crap, earns pennies per sale but shift lots of it!

windows 7 comes with works what is a simpler version of office but can pretty much do everything office can do. yes mac is a hardware company at heart but they make nuthing in there computers, cpu buy intel, gpu by nvidia mainly so there moving alot to software in that area. but apple was really unheard of in the 90s everyone had windows. these days everyone wants to try osx but dont want to spend all the money on a mac

I am a MAC and PC user, I only use the MAC's to learn them.. so I can repair them for customers and help people who are out of warranty.. I make BIG bucks, repairing MAC's, due to the parts are expensive, and well... I can charge more because MAC charges a lot. Example. Replacing a MAC G5 motherboard.. Apples price to fix, 650 USD. My price, 200 USD. Same exact part and labor... why they chargin 450 USD more?? Im comparing apples to apples, not apples to oranges. Stay away from MAC!!!

yes, but i have never had to download drivers for anything on my pc, new drivers come out what are optional, like nvidia im about 3 drivers behind cause i cba to update, my pc runs fine now problems, i have had many compatiblity problems with mac. the only problem i had with compatibily with 7 was my sucurity and it gave me the link to fix it, one free download whats offical to fix anyproblem, yes i know macs dont get virus's but they are on a tiny amount of the market.

let me lay this to rest. I am a mac user I also know Linux quite well, and I like it. that said, Linux is not the best out there either. I am sick and tired of everyone bashing everyone else and calling them dumb for which computer you use. I happen to prefer Macs over Linux and well above PC, that's because Macs are perfect for what I do (graphic design, videos, web design) and you would find it quite hard to find industry standard programs for LInux, and don't even try and sell me The Gimp.

Exactly! The quality accuracy and speed of a PC or Mac is entirely dependent upon the knowledge of its builder and operator. So, if your PC sucks ass, learn how to build and maintain them correctly or perhaps buy it from some other manufacture next time. Macs run better only because Apple controls their technology with an iron thumb, and will not let others build them or produce software for it without strict controls: severely hampering innovation.

With Windows Live, I can make a photo book in just a couple minutes. Updating my blog, sharing those photos with others or simply IMing them is a snap. If I want a professional looking photo book, I can order customized prints of my photos directly from 70,000 worldwide photo-printing partners.
