my guess: the hatch serial number is 4 8 15 16 23 42 begin_of_the_skype_highlightin­g 15 16 23 42 end_of_the_skype_highlighting and the hatch was the only dharma station not used for a expiriment. they say it is but after the driling accident where they hit the pocket of elektro magnetic power they HAD to make a station to contain it. the numbers and the hatch itself is meaningfull couse its saving the world so to speak.

What i have found out myself, though, is that in the first 108 decimal places of Pi, 8 appears 15 times. 8 and 15 are the 2nd and 3rd numbers in the series. 2 and 3 --> 23. 4 appears 4 times in the first 42 decimal places of Pi. I seriously doubt that this is a coincidence :P

If you notice, the numbers (4, 8, 15, 16, 23 & 42) are shown as lotto winning numbers and in the hatch on multiple occasions. If you saw in season 6 the latest episode when 'Locke' shows Sawyer the cave where Jacob drew all the names on the wall, each of the names has a number next to it. Locke is 4, Hurley is 8, Saywer is 15, Sayid is 16, Jack is 23 and Sun/Gin in 42. Put them together you get 4-8-15-16-23-42 which is the number from the hatch and the lotto ticket. That HAS to mean something?

108x2=216

216= 6^3. There are two numbers in 6^3, the 6 and the 3.

The numbers doesn't mean oceanic 6... there was a lot of thing in the show, that alluded to the numbers, for example they were on the island for 108 days, before they left, but this is not the reason of the fact, that the numbers counted together make amont of 108!!!! It can be Hurleys voice, but I think that the numbers are in connection

the numbers make the movie! I think without the numbers and darma the show would be not nearly as good. The others and the drama are a waste time in my book. I think the island with the hatchs and "THE" numbers would of been enough for a killer movie!
