  • Cool

  • Nice saw but could do with a sharpen ....also you must invest in some safety gear ...gloves...boots...spats...helmut ..and ear protectors....one dat something will happen and you wish you had.........

  • sharpen that thing and stop using so much arm motion, let your chainsaw do that work

  • its people like you that make accident figures so high in foresty and arb

  • i think if ur going to put a video up wear ur protective helmet ear muffs gloves boots and chaps

  • 15 y/o , it's not a miracle, guys listen: take kare of you're own saw, after every cutting work clean it up, make sure that you're chain is in verry good cutting, and don't put anykind of oil in the gastank. All those thing's only if you're lovein' you're own chainsaw and if you want it to resist more than 15 years !

  • DUDE!! i LOVE STIHL !! SHARPEN THAT THING !! DANG!!

  • a real man saw by hand.

  • husqvarna 371 xp is the best

  • i love stihl we've also got husquvana but i like stihl better

  • isint that shit mexican?

  • dude, i got a 015L its like 20 simethng yrs old. still works. great. i cant sharpen it good.

  • that accesories are for children......

  • you dumb shite wear was the eye protection and ear protection because you cant replace either one of those two or your legs you should be wearing chainsaw trousers

  • where is your eye protection you hillbilly?

  • got the exact same one

  • Its for sure not a 026 wrong air filter cover, looks more like an 038 cover possibly an 028.

  • i think its a 028 av super

  • german technology running

  • that is a stihl 026 Iknow b/c I have the same one

  • But the chain is pretty dull....

  • eye and ear protection?

  • they aren't women

  • Ehh? Ehhh? What was that? Ehhh!

    Hear read this instead.

Sorry I'm blind from the rhus (a nice tree with the same toxicity as a spitting cobra) juice in my eyes.

  • what model was that?

    280 or 270?

  • was it a mean chain?

  • Stihl has the highest quality of chainsaws and they last the longest. Nice vid. Keep taking care of that saw so it will last even longer.

  • chainsaws scare me if im not the one holding them

  • this is stihl 038 right?

  • an o38 don't have a spark plug cover or the anti vibration system over top it has too be a ms270,027,ms280,028

  • 038 would have more torque too!

  • depends of which model 038 piston fi:38mm....038super:piston 40mm....038magnum:52mm piston.............038 4.4hp 038super: 4.8hp 038magnum: 5.3hp

  • ups! 038:48mm....038super: 50mm.....038magnum:52mm

  • 38 super is 50mm

    38av is 48mm

    38 mag II is 52mm

  • oops. That was already posted

  • a stihl 038 would of cut way faster!

  • 038 is a lot heavier than the 026 as well

  • I have a McCulloch Pro Mac 610 which is 30 years old. I also have a Stihl which is 8 years old and it works great as well. The old Pro Mac was my dads saw - they made em really good back in those days. Still running great. I expect my Stihl will keep going as well. Great saws.

  • I guess as long as your happy with your saw, you tend to like the brand for life.

I've got a stihl along with an off brand... I love the Stihl, the off brand was fine also, just not as good. But dang, one day I lost the oil cap, and can't seem to find a replacement, (Eager Beaver)

  • You have an Eager Beaver chainsaw? I am so jealous. Have you ever heard of the video game called Doom? The chainsaw in Doom is modeled after the Eager Beaver. One of the game developers had that same brand name sitting in his garage. When the developers needed a chainsaw to model after, the guy went and got his. So if you ever sell it, put it on ebay as the same brand name as the "Doom Chainsaw."

  • LOL, I'll have to do that then!

BTW, I do love your videos.. you teach a lot of regular stuff that lots of folks just don't know about!

It's sad that the everyday things that our folks knew are not known by half the people nowdays (maybe more).

And now with everyone worried about food prices, how many folks do you think will actually put up a garden in their backyards? A lot I hope... but I am not so sure. But folks like you who put out good info might just help a lot of people out.

  • i have one of those too! but i need a pullcord and a new chain!

  • a mcculoch eager beaver chainsaw!

  • Hey, get back to me and I may have a cap for that saw. For some reason everybody wants to give me their old junk saws.

  • I was a Huskie man for years, then I bought a Stihl 290, then another 290... LOL I've been very pleased with these saws. We heat solely with wood and put up 3-4 cords a year (here in the south we don't need much) and the Stihls are great saws! Thanks. Survival Report

  • 15 year old saw and still cuts like butter,

you can expect that from a Stihl

  • 15 years and still going strong. Enough said.

  • it will last you another 15+ if you keep taking care of it

  • FinalRepublic thats a cool idea... i would use it

  • Gotta say love the videos lots of great information, and the forums are awsome as well. Just a thought though I know you know about wikipedia, well a lot of different communities have used the wikipedia software (not sure where to get it) to make there own what-ever-pedia. It would be great to have a survivalistpedia, would be a good way to organize all the information out there and make it easy to access for those who want to gain it. Just a thought.

  • Absolutely great idea.

  • That's an awesome idea!
