are they made like this to get you into the habbit of goin down into the drops, i dont know if id get them cus i spend a lot of time up on the hoods,, pity you cant try before you buy to see if you like them...

Be careful with the k-force compact carbon handlebars. I got one and found out that the tops angle sharply upward which puts a lot of stress on your wrists. Also the hoods can't mount higher than parallel with the ground which again, puts pressure on the wrists. They are light, reduces vibration and look cool. Just needs some work on the tops. Funny thing is the $40 omegas are better ergonomically than the $260 carbon ones.
