Very clear and strong singing, but is it authentic to Baroque style? Were soloists so powerful in the mid-18th century, or does his voice belong to a later time of Mozart or even a Verdi opera?
@brassspitoon I half agree.. I do prefer a more gentle approach to this style. But it is a relief to have such excellent phrasing, I've heard many a tenor make a hash of this.
I think the tenor should sound a bit more soft and caring when he says "comfort ye," but he's amazing.

This singer is praised to be one of the best interpreters of the Baroque period...anyway, we barely know how Baroque soloists really sang...!
