  • if i wanted to read i would pick up a book! besides, the pictures and information on science books are cool,i mean if a kid who couldnt read but liked the pictures had one of these mechanical messes it wouldnt be the same!!!! down with e-books

  • whata? they talked only about whats in past.

  • NEIL PATRICK HARRIS!!!

  • Printed books makes you aware of an information that you did not ask for but will now ask for because you are made aware of it's presence. Printed books are the catalyst of the information age for they have preserved the needed information needed to create the series of foundations leading to the information age. But your hyped overconfidence on E-Books which is also a tactic to hide their flaws, weakness, disadvantages, & shortcomings will destroy the information age because of no past history.

  • E-books equals DIGITAL DARK AGE

  • Printed books shows you all information that you need and the information you need but did not ask for because you are not aware of it. Printed books shows all information at once and allows you to choose & collate information. Printed books makes you aware of an information that you did ask for but will now ask for because you are made aware of it's presence. Printed books shows all information whether asks for or not and that raises curiosity and creativity. E-books does not have these traits.

  • These E-Books promoters and advertisers are deliberately using advertising hype to hide the disadvantages of E-Books that they can be tampered without you knowing it, electronically censored, erased back to the stone age, consumes more energy and raw materials than they are willing to admit and these computer generation and E-book generation has no wisdom and no sense of posterity that will only hasten the world down the path of a DIGITAL DARK AGE. Printed media is not easily censored, and lasts

  • Hemp paper production is non-toxic and lasts for thousands of years. Inert inks which are non-toxic already exists, especially the rediscovery of mayan blue. E-books requires continous energy consumption and a viewing equipment but a book consumes energy only during printing and a pair of eyes and 2 hands to read it. E-books promoters are using advertising HYPE to conceal the disadvantages of E-books and they have NO WISDOM to preserve the past for future generations.

  • E-books can be wiped out by EMP weapons, a printed ink on paper book retains information permanently. E-books are more energy and raw materials intensive, printed books are not because hemp paper and inert ink which are non-toxic can be produced indefinitely, especially mayan blue-based ink. E-books does not provide certainty but printed books can only provide certainty of information. E-books accelerates the path toward a Digital Dark Age, printed books lasts 500-1,000 yrs, Library of Congress

  • E-books and all forms of electronic media are limited in their advantages. They can be tampered, a book once printed and distributed can't be tampered. Electronic media requires power and viewing to read, a book requires only two hands & a pair of eyes. Electronic media requires continous energy consumption, a book consumes energy only once during it's printing because once printed the energy consumption is stopped. E-books and electronic media can be thrown back to the stone age by EMP weapons

  • I'm a computer science major in college, and I have a neutral opinion on this. Paper is toxic and wasteful, but electronic screens strain your eyes. People who read for hours a day may over work their eyes.

  • I dont like this, technology improves and we forget about what was there before, i hope we still have books I love to read, there is nothing better than finishing a book and saying "wow" love that feeling

  • I Love my Kindle too. ink? I'm allergic to the paper/ink and had to give up reading for a while until I got my Kindle. And now I dont have to try to find shelf space for books (I have a lot of books) as I can store them on my Kindle. Oh and I can carry them around with me if I want, not just one or two, but all of my Kindle books.

  • Magazines = toxic mess .. poisonous inks .. promoting disposable culture. Everyone should have an email address assigned to them at birth. You are not to leave the house without planning your route on GPS. Deviations are penalized. Save the rainforests - no mahogony dinner tables or burial caskets. Recylcled cardboard only - no cremations (greenhouse gas) - dumped at sea to feed hungry malnourished sharks. Everyone must learn 10 new 10 letter words a day - or get dumped at sea.

  • i can imagine authors jumping at the chance for people to download their books for free

  • I am 15 and i LOVE my Amazon Kindle!

  • I couldn't imagine not having a book. The feel of a book's cover when I caress it combined with the faint scent of the pages is bliss.

  • I'm not to excited about the possibility of censorship either. Easier to delete an E-book than burn an actual book

  • Nice poetry

  • @Hermy1Star1 yes! the smell of pages is just orgasmic!

  • books shouldn't be replaced, they along with plays are probably the only pieces of culture that have survived since the middle ages

also if you spent the amount of time it takes to read a book staring at a screen rather then reading from a page, you would develop some sort of brain condition after like, the 10th novel

  • Yea its easier to read from a book to me

  • What a waist of time peace of tv. incomplete history, bad summ up and no conclusions. One of the worst serious meant tv peaces I have ever seen.

  • i stick with the old fashion style. :D

  • this video has a good point, I would definitely buy a lets say...screen book? a book that you flip open which contains screens, which are touch-screen, this could so be marketed, features could go all the way to wifi connection but simplest would be a hard-drive containing selections of e-books available to 'spread' page to page on this digital/real book, which you can 'flip' through from hand slide gestures or something, that'd be pretty cool

  • haha shit stuff like this's already out there, i'm so buyin one now haha

  • I can't imagine not having my books!!

  • @BroadwayDivo I cant imagine having the power to read a book :/

  • i curl up next to the fire with my laptop and click through a good book, it's soo much better than book. I have so many books that take up a lot of space i would like to have in a digital format.

  • There are some good and some bad with this, Taking all the fun out of the search if you want to go to the book store or library, And then they already have people bitching about obesity , Just gives them more of a reason to complain, But anyway, what do I know? Guess I'm just another "old fart" that doesn't know shit lol
