Hello gamers, I just bought a subscription for World Empires Live (WEL). The game is a blast. It's fast paced but plays like a turn based, wild eh? the hexes are cool, I love the map.
Yes, there is both attack penalty (=defence bonus) shown with a "Sword minus" icon and there is mobile penalty (=cavalry) shown with a "horse minus" icon. Furthermore there is water penalty if attacking with land unit directly from a ship and there is a City Wall factor that can be brought down in order to reduce the defence bonus of City or Capital (Brick Wall icon)

Today WEL was updated to 1.04 and the new version include a instructive tutorial consisting of 19 missions.
I strongly recommend newcomers to the game to try the tutorial on the first run of the game.
