  • he has no wrist support, the exercise doesnt suck but the safety is lacking. Combat sports rely on their hands, why put them in harms way when there are much better and more intense ways to do this particular exercise.

  • its a nice exercise but true plyo metrics focus on the ammortization phase... and the goal is to keep it as short as possible for the most power out put (which is the goal of plyo's).... in this exercise the ammortizaiton phase is long.

  • @dzydave0021 the ball does more than a stationary tool such as a block - it is forcing you to balance yourself which is hitting the tricep mucles much more than any stationary object would. also it is much more of a burn on the shoulders and deltoids when using an object like a ball. the key to core workouts such as plyo or synergenic workouts is fast twich, quick muscle movement - staying on the balls of your feet and pushing your body to the limit and then some! GET SOME !!!!

It's fucking common knowledge that what you are saying is true, but this DOES make you more explosive. go to any mma gym and during circuit training you will be doing an exercise exactly, or extremely similar to this. your comment does not deserve that many thumbs up

  • I recommend using a medicine ball for this. They are softer, slightly wider, and most importantly, not as prone to rolling. With one of those, this is a great plyo push-up.

  • Great exercise MUST BE DONE ON CUSHIONED SURFACE. Even if you do this on your soft rug or carpet at home you'll be damaging your wrist terribly.

  • well, if you are hurting your wrist, your wrists aren't that strong. To strengthen them, do this exersize from your knees girly style and build up toregular poly push-ups. doing it on a soft surface doesn't really help anyone who is training full contact, but is otherwise a fairly good idea

  • Too dangerous for amature! Make sure you don't do this on the hard floor cause if you missed the ball...your chin might hit the floor!

  • the medicine ball is much easier to grip and you can do many exercises with it

  • A medicine ball doesn't move as much as the Basketball It has a far more weight too it and more stable
