  • Who's playing lead guitar, Carl Perkins? Anybody know?

  • @axsys212 Mr. Orbison himself. He played lead guitar on most of his early songs.

  • @collect45 Wow, never thought of Roy as a lead player. This is really good.

  • This 78 is something else....it spits this record out! This song is always great, but this 78 really adds an extra vibrancy.....superb

  • well Honestly The Guy said how much I said 3 bills n he paid i had a mint copy I paid 20.00 for it check ebay for priceing id say

  • Great song on that Sun 78 and that record player has a very nice sound for as small as it is. I have two Sun 78 records, one is I don't care if the sun don't shine by Evlis Presley.

  • I've got this on a London American ep called Hillbilly Rock. I got it circa 1959, other tracks are, Rockhouse, Your're My Baby and Down The Line.

The label is maroon with the gold lettering and the centre is intact. I got it cos my mate worked in a record shop and he ordered it on spec when Roy Orbison was virtually unknown.

I Ioved it from the first moment I heard it.

  • Wow!LOL!!! That explains why I never remember this tune. We were into 45s by then. LOL Hi tech!!

    Thanks for the share!

  • wow, cool.. thanks luv it!

  • superbe hibilly j'ai le meme en 45rpm

  • That's crazy that you still have that record. Cool! I'm a student in the history of rock class at csn in vegas.

  • @StormyNoMore I had this 78 Mind Con like a fool I sold it for 300.00

  • @radioman56

How much would it be worth today, anyway?

  • sounds just like elvis here!

  • its ANALOGUE vs DIGITAL.

    ANALOGUE WINS!

  • Early Roy Orbison is really awesome! Thanks for the heads up on the box set. I'll definitely check it out.

  • Early Roy Orbison at his best!

  • man, this cooks!!! what a beat!

Roy's new boxed set is out now...The Soul of Rock and Roll is the name!

  • Only Roy.

  • Excellent.. Very rare Sun 78. If it were only on the Je-wel label...... Regardless, nice record!!!

  • Muito bom!!!

Tenho de arranjar esse vinyl !!

  • that rockabilly is so good !

  • Well I think it's much more fun to play records, than just press a buttom on a MP3 or CD player. Records also have a feel that a plastic CD or even worse an invisible MP3 dosen't have.

  • I agree,records have a better sound.

  • Interesting. This 78 version sounds a bit different from the version I first heard on a radio show some years ago. Sounds a lot hotter in feel. This was Orbison's very first chart record from 1956.

  • You might heard the version Roy recorded at Norman Petty studios in Clovis some months before he went to SUN. They are very like though.

  • The version I heard, if my memory is correct, featured a more prominent piano.

  • Most likely you heard the version by "The Teen Kings".

  • Probably. I really like this version on Sun better after listening to it a couple of times.

  • I've got this on je-wel label 78 before the sun one, in unplayed condition but have nothing to play it on! The B side is tryin' to get to you on this earlier one.

  • Awesome song of his, thanx for posting!!!
