It's not auto tuned. Brenden and Ryan can just do a decent vibrato and the three way harmony forms a chord. Before there was auto tune, people could actually control their voice and knew about pitch.
Yes, Aol does some editing in terms of overall volume and blending with the instrumentation, but auto tune? Hell no. Stop saying it sounds auto tuned just because "everyone" big uses it now.

I have to agree with bunniebugs (You described it perfectly!) and I think it sounds great. Somewhat of a pretty discord to me. :) If we know Panic at all, we know they like to play with different sounds and some aren't the safest to experiment. Brendon's always toying with his voice to find what works for the music. Super talented group. Always my favorite :)

Yeah I definitely think we need to hear more of Jon solo. He actually sounds like he has a really nice voice but its hard to tell what he actually sounds like cause Brendon is usually singing over him. Not that I mind that of course, as Brendon is an amazing musician overall, but it would be nice to hear just Jon.

I thought that too, but they're actually meaning to do that. It's actually really beautiful when you listen to it more than once. But, I think you could be hearing Ryan 'cause he's sorta monotoned, despite how gorgeous his voice is. I'm not sure though. =]
I also noticed that Ryan has the tendency in some of their live performances to get off key. I don't think his voice is trained as well as Brendon's, but it still sounds good nonetheless. =)
I'd have to vote a big NO to Eric joining the band as a regular member. The four of them have a special chemistry all their own, and I'd hate to see that disrupted. (Nothing personal, Eric.) I'm glad they always get him to tour with them, though.

Yeah I definitely think we need to hear more of Jon solo. He actually sounds like he has a really nice voice but its hard to tell what he actually sounds like cause Brendon is usually singing over him. Not that I mind that of course, as Brendon is an amazing musician overall, but it would be nice to hear just Jon.

I thought that the first time I heard it, too, but then I realized that they were doing this amazing dissonance/resolution thing that is just gorgeous once you get used to it. I actually almost like it better than the album version, now! :)

I thought that too, but they're actually meaning to do that. It's actually really beautiful when you listen to it more than once. But, I think you could be hearing Ryan 'cause he's sorta monotoned, despite how gorgeous his voice is. I'm not sure though. =]

I also noticed that Ryan has the tendency in some of their live performances to get off key. I don't think his voice is trained as well as Brendon's, but it still sounds good nonetheless. =)

I'd have to vote a big NO to Eric joining the band as a regular member. The four of them have a special chemistry all their own, and I'd hate to see that disrupted. (Nothing personal, Eric.) I'm glad they always get him to tour with them, though.
