The Empire we loved through all other elder scrolls events is dead and long gone. there's no more prophecy or heroism that centers or originates from the empire anymore. for me, this is what all the "end times" and "last of the dragonborn" are about: tamriel ends when the empire ends and will either be utterly destroyed by the dragons, deadra and thalmor, or turn back to be like it was before it's union by heroes such as reman cyrodiil and tiber septim. at least that way the world can be reborn

Then, Ulfric storms into Markarth, killing and tortuing women, children and anyone else who didn't pick up a blade in his name. He demanded to openly worship Talos or people would continue to die. The Empire obliged, they had to. Then the Thalmor threatened to kill EVERYONE unless they started enforcing.

Because of Ulfric and the Stormcloaks shitty attitude, Skyrim would fall in no time. Ulfric and the Stormcloaks despise anyone who isn't a Nord. They would lose trade from the Empire, and if they didn't drive out every other race, they would be killed or leave on their own. I highly doubt anyone would support them when the Thalmor decide to kill everyone. The Stormcloaks winning the war? That's what the Thalmor want, because EVERYONE will be cut off and weak enough to be killed and/or enslaved.

@Minos323 You DO know that you find a dossier in the Embassy that shows that the Thalmor are using Ulfric? He's one of their most valuable assets. The Talos ban? It's their way of trying to control EVERYONE, and it's fucking working. They KNEW that it would start a war, and ultimately weaken the last two factions in their way. Skyrim will be far too weak with Ulfric in control, Skyrim will be alone. Completely alone. No trade, no support. The Thalmor wipe out all of Tamriel.

And i saw the height of the Arrow Training Targets in skyrim. Every Thalmor attacking Skyrim would be immediately turned into a Guard

@FatalX7 in my eyes the empire had theyre chance fighting/holding off the elves, they failed. as you said the empire is weak, they've been tough guys in kickass armor fighting off the DAEDRA! but they turned to a shade of what they have been, the empire is dead, but there is a faction ready to face the thalmor, fighting for theyre home till the end. They earned my respect and thats a story/lore of heroes and my reason to join them.

@Minos323 The Emperor surrendered in order to protect everyone. The Empire + Skyrim = a great, powerful allegiance. Together, the Thalmor can't beat them, alone, the Thalmor can stomp them like bugs. The Empire WILL and everyone else will be dead after Ulfric wins. Just like a guy said in game, His cause is true, but the man is a lie. Ulfric only thinks for his own race and NO LONG TERM. That's not a ruler. The Empire gives an equal chance to everyone and they focus on the long term.

empire + skyrim? how would a weak empire be any help? And no, i finished the civil war, ulfric won and noones dead, he now focuses on building an army to fight the thalmor if they attack.
