Hehe. He kind of misremembered "the pickle story." Aunt Bee didn't win the contest with the store- bought pickles. They were afraid she would though so they wound up eating all the store pickles so that Aunt Bee would have to make more of her own. :P Doesn't matter though =D
The Andy Griffith show is still one of my favorites for so many years. It brings back so many memories, so many laughs, and a few tears at the thought that so many great personalities are no longer with us. I yearn for the "Good Old Days".
Thanks for posting this video. I think Don Knotts is great.
And I disagree with the comments below about the interviewer. The interviewer takes more of a "Brian Lamb" approach than a "Charlie Rose" approach. In other words, the interviewer does NOT impose the interviewer's own views and opinions into the interview. I think the interviewer did a GREAT job BECAUSE the end result -- the video is EXCELLENT and INTERESTING.
The interviewer while having all the facts could not have been worse. Inaudible at times and dull as hell, how did this guy get to interview a comedy icon?
THE BEST..RIP DON.

Classic Barney comes out right after he takes a drink of water at 18:40. "Well...."

He has the same exact voice he had in his 20s. :-)

He seems so detached from the AG show. kinda like he doesnt really care to talk about it.

I wish that he would have mentioned the late, great Aneta Corsaut (Helen Crump) as finding bios on her is very difficult.

@DayNightJustUs Who was she? I take she played a character on the show.

It's kind of sad that he did't remember some of the funnier episodes....episodes that we really remember Barney for.

@comeoniwanttogo the interviewer sounded like a detective interrogating a suspect. he started with "can I have your full name?"
