Andrew Meyer should have been pounded into the floor. It was not a free-speech issue, it was a matter of a 21 year old punk who tried to fight with cops, and lost. @ConspiracyChannel101 He WAS creating a disturbance. They asked him to stop and leave the premises. They had a right to do that. It was not his questions that got him ejected, it was his BEHAVIOR! He was obviously on alcohol and/or drugs, or mentally disturbed. He has a history of " pranks " . The kid is not a good kid, he is an arrogant punk, who thinks he is superior to others. He is out of touch with reality. I believe he is mentally disturbed. Meyer in German means..superior. He's bad.
@ConspiracyChannel101 You do realize that most college campuses restrict freedoms more than the government can, right? There are less rights, even on a public college campus, then there is off.
@ConspiracyChannel101 Bullshit. He was kicked out for behavior and fought with the cops instead of leaving. All his fault. they even gave him a chance to ask Kerry a question after he was told to leave and when it was actualy another students turn in line (the last question of the day).

They say they are better than the police, but then they completely disrespect both the student body president as well as the police who were showing them respect.
This is grandstanding at it's worst. I support Andrew Meyer in his situation, but this....this is pathetic.
I agree that the actions taken in this situation were excessive on behalf of the police, but they are not being "better than them" by their actions in this video.
This is the behavior of hippies. I fully support the banning of tazers, but suggesting that police be removed from campus' is rediculous.
Furthermore, if the ACLU really believed his rights had been violated (as they claim on their site) then they would have helped him to file & win a civil rights case.
As it is, they saw the video, and they have the brains to read Bethel & Tinker (Supreme Court cases), and knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that they had no case.
Meyer's rights were not violated, and the police acted correctly in every respect.
Yeah the claims that meyer was thrown out for asking a question are just plain stupid. If you are dumb enough to think that, then it is obvious you have no business making decisions.
He was thrown out (lawfully) for disrupting the forum & using vulgarity. The SCOTUS has ruled repeatedly that forum organizers may eject ANYONE being vulgar or disruptive. So it was no violation of his rights whatsoever to throw him out.
I love how these faggots think they're making a differences and shit when the only thing remembered from this is the simple line: "Don't tase me bro!" Fucking liberal hippie douchebags
"I violated the rules of the forums, and was disruptive" "There were rules in place to ensure that the forum was run in an orderly fashion, and I did not follow them"
Legal precedents on limitations of speech set out in Bethel School District No. 403 v. Fraser - May prohibit the use of vulgar language
And Tinker v. Des Moines - Students may express themselves so long as they are not disruptive.
Organizers had ample reason & the right to eject meyer. It was no violation of his rights to do so.
Bethel & Tinker have been cited by the Supreme Court in cases addressing college students so obviously the justices feel they are relevant.
The ACLU or meyer are free to bring a court case if they believe his rights were violated.
I doubt they will, because they know the precedents & at the cases the Supreme Court has declined to hear re: vulgar speech (Robinson v. Montana, for example.)
"It's ironic that everyone is so focused on the forum rules." Why? Breaking the forum rules is why Meyer got thrown out. Nothing ironic about it for intelligent people.
"issues he were raising are slightly more important" Than violating the rights of every other attendee and the forum organizers? Nope. Absolutely not.
"we are punished for it" He was punished for breaking the law, not for his questions.
He was already in trouble for breaking other forum rules, they were just giving him a chance to ask one question.
"he got thrown out for asking a question" And you are incorrect. He got thrown out for breaking a stack of forum rules. The last straw was his saying "blowjob" violating a rule against vulgarity.
His getting tossed out had nothing to do with his question re: S&B, as you will note the police were already standing right behind him long before that question was posed.
Isn't it your other profile name "Nousides" that usually tell us about the Tinker Bell & Pinocchio fairy tale? Ooops, slip-up bro! You have to concentrate!
When will americans wake up and realise they are all living in a matrix called "freedom". Not even their phonecalls or emails are free from being monitored anymore.
Wake up america...the REAL terrorists are the ones running your country...they are the ones spreading the fear that cripples you! They are taking away your freedom. They are even listening to your personal phonecalls and reading your emailsLEGALLY.
How can anyone justify tasering people for asking questions. Maybe he should have been ejected or asked to leave, but being tasered like that is the work of a dictatorship. Ban Tasers and fuck the police
You don't even know what the fuck happened! You don't know what laws were broke, you don't know what rules were broke, you don't know how Meyer was behaving before getting tased. Fucking liberal stupid ass college student fuckheads, bunch of fucktarded idiots who don't have a clue yet about what it's like in the real world.
Organizers had ample reason & the right to eject meyer. It was no violation of his rights to do so.

ok i see whats happening here and i gotta play devil's advocate. Love it or hate it, The 1st ammendment grants free speech UNLESS it is slander against the president or if what is said could warrant a hostile enviroment like a riot or something. Now heres the kicker, when you speak about impeaching the president that is one of those "fire starters" that can lead to a civil revolt. The police were only practicing preventave maintanence to insure that no unintentional fires were started.
No, it's not because he was talking about impeachment. His raving about the governemnt and being wrongfuly arrested, when all he needed to do was walk out definitely contributed to why he was eventually tackled, but that's not why his mic was cut. The guy had been kicked out BEFORE the video starts and refused to leave. Then Kerry told security to let him ask a question, but instead, he started preaching and went back to demanding his chance to speak because Kerry spoke "bullshit" all day.
Hey virtual i see what you are saying; im not saying that its right or wrong im just giving you what the constitution says...Believe it or not the police were legally correct with what they did, however it may have been morally incorrect. Arrested means to stop or cease. If one doesnt agree with the reason they were "stopped" he/she may plead their case in a court. During the arrest is not the time or place to plea whether you are guilty or innocent, hence innocent until "proven guilty"
I agree with you Kreator. I was just pointing out that if you know the whole story, you realize it was not the impeachment talk that got him in trouble.
But yeah, his "free speech" has nothing to do with this. He is told to leave for good reason and refuses. Then it is the security force's job to remove him. They are cops and he fights with them, so he is now breaking the law. Like you said, the time to protest is not while you are in the process of breaking a law or struggling with cops.
"This is the patriot act @ work that George Bush made into law!!"
AHAHAH! This has to be a joke, right?
Yes, only because of the Patriot Act, campus police working security at a student function can remove someone that the event organizers kicked out for breaking rules. Good one.
I would just walk out. Well, actually, I wouldn't have grabbed the mic and started berating the guest anyway, so they wouldn't have kicked me out. If they DID kick me out, I sure wouldn't have fought with police. This guy was NOT having his rights violated. Why do you want to cheapen our rights like that? I respect mine.
PS I know all about the Patriot Act and am totally against it. THIS has ZERO to do with the Patriot Act.
You need to research what the Patriot Act is if you think this has anythign to do with it. This is just a guy getting kicked out of a function and refusing to leave. plain and simple.
I certainly don't know it all, but I know what the Patriot Act is, and I know damn well people had the right to set rules at public events and have security enforce them long before there was any Patriot Act.
I have read the police reports. The officers still acted inappropriately as Mr. Meyer did not threaten Senator Kerry, himself, or others. Resisting arrest seems counterintuitive when there was not anything illegal to necessitate the arrest.
Senator Kerry (or the students) could have put an end to situation immediately, but he didn't, and he is a coward.
First amendment issues aside, it doesn't take a taser to restrain someone when there are that many police.
you can clearly hear Kerry tell them to let him answer the question. Once the cops got on their power trip he wasnt gonna get in the middle of that. But I agree with everything else you said.
Dude my brother got tazered for trying to break up a fight that his friend was in. After, the cops didn't even charge him with anything. Tazers are used to disable people.
Watch the part where he is on the ground. How long is it until he is tazered?
How many times did he swear at the cops?
How many times did the cops tell him to "stop, or you will be tazered"?
Wouldn't you call his behavior "resisting arrest"?
If you don't call that resisting arrest then you are a little slanted.
@ac203009 They are not against police you moron....What are you a traitor to America? Only Traitors are stupid. The people here are against police brutality against innocent students.....Damn...I hate educating simple minded people like you.
this all kinda reminds me of a great song... Revolution... it's by the Beatles you should listen to it, cause the next step in your battle is going to be bombs and harm which is wrong. and no one is ever going to listen to you if you behave worse than those that are in the authority.
Hippies believe in free speech, &they play by rules of their enemy. Revolutionaries go to protests, with peaceful intentions, but wear guns, in case the people that work for them(i.e., the police) attempt to disrupt because they don't like what's being said. You all better stop listening to the beatles and start listening to Malcolm X.
What is really sad is that none of these excited students showed up at the campus public forum a few weeks later. 15 total people showed up, WTF? And only one person spoke up, a geezer non-student. WTF? Did they find out that the dude was just a perp? WTF?
if they are are future leaders then im leaving. ever one is complaining about freedom of speech but if they had their way those hippies would also get rid of guns cause people don't people guns kill people
Peaceful, more like rioting. They want answers but won't give the PD a chance to answer. Hmm, reminds me when those cops just wanted to peacefully walk Andrew Meyer out of the auditorium, but no!!!! Meyers wanted to incite the cops to fight him so all you phoney liberals would think that cops are doing harm to are freedom of speech.
define a radical though. A person who speaks their mind and is upright and honest in their beliefs isn't a radical. A radical is a person that performs physical acts based upon their beliefs. This guy has been treated like most of us minorities in America. He was violated of his basic human rights and better yet constitutional rights simply because he asked a smart question about post election emotions.

their not amazing to me in fact their a bunch of idiot college kids that are mad. so they busted in wow talk about trespassing which they could be arrested for yet they think their big and bad i feel no sympathy for them and their little cause.
Its the fact that the police officers used unnecessary violence. A tazer is NOT a TOY. People have DIED from the police using it on them. He had rights violated and the police are getting what should be coming to them. I have no sympathy for him getting pulled off stage but still, using a weapon DECLARED TO BE DANGEROUS AND SHOULD ONLY BE USED IN BAD SITUATIONS BY CONGRESS (the only good thing they've done in ages) against a person who is NOT being violent?
those kids that you speak about are some of our future leaders and heroes. they're most likely twice as smart as you, this is no diss it's the truth. When you spend most of your time studying you tend to be smarter than those who don't.
Not really. People think tazers are a toy- they aren't they hurt. BADLY. This guy didnt threated the cops around him, if you see the other video, the guy was practically laughing t Andrew. He obviously thinks the thing is a toy. THE USE OF THE TAZER WAS UNNECCESARY ON EVERY LEVEL
Its federal law that all law enforcement officers and security officers that are issued tazers and/or pepper spray are required to have that force used against them.
Your comment makes as much sense as anyone whose never been shot before, shouldn't shoot anyone because they don't know the feeling. Thats outrageous!
If you act like a retard and resist the police. Of course there gonna do what they can to get you out of the building, lol. He was not tazed for asking a question. He was tazed for resisting arrest. Better than being shot in the ass I figure, lol. What a waste of demostration power. How about stand up for police brutailty on a global level not just for some over active kid shouting blow job in from of a possible US president, lol.
He was resisting, he kept moving towards Kerry...like backing towards him when the cops tried to arrest him. Then he wouldn't leave the building, hehe.
Bush was getting asked strange/awkward/stupid questions and the police tried to remove the kid, but Bush said "STOP LET HIM TALK" and the police backed away. Kerry was a total wimp. "i ll answer his question ill answer it, but ill answer his questions" wasn't exactly forceful enough to inspire me. I dont see whats so funny in laughing at the kid, getting tazed for not staying within time limit, asking what he did and such.
He wasn't arrested for asking a question. He was arrested for asking a question the cops didn't understand. Kerry understood it and acknowledged it was "A very important question", but because the cops didn't understand the question, in error, they believed that Meyer was badgering Kerry.
its funny how people still think he got tazed for asking a question. he got tazed for resisting the officers. if a man is pulled over for a left tail light out and runs from cops and spends 4 years in prison, he is in prison because he ran from the cops, not because he drove with a broken tail light. TELL ME IM WRONG YOU STUPID HIPPIE MOTHERFUCKERS!
Hey fucktard. I am no hippie, I hold several degrees and I obey the law of the land. What they did to this young man was a fucking joke (like you asshole). He did not need to be ejected from the meeting in the first place you stupid piece of shit.
You have shown intelligence. I am surprised if you are an american. But I feel I should remind you of something important; Debating on Youtube is like competing in the Special Olympics. With that, do as you will, but it is because you have shown yourself more intelligent than others here, that I feel for you. I'll make it clear: I am a troll, if you reply to me, you are silly.

I would have thought there would be more educated people at a college campus. You don't have anything better to protest...not iraq, not darfur...He deserved to get tased. And he deserves all the beatings he's proabably going to take later in life for being the "Don't tase me bro" guy.
hopefully your children and your childrens children will all be tazed in public school for asking undesirable questions in history class, or for not praying the alloted minimum of five times perday. people like you do not deserve freedom and you need reality to hit home before you realize WTF is going on. USA has gone to far and its on your back(s).
This is just normal behavour in a democratic country... Is America turning into a police state or something ???... Even just watching Cops on fox i am amazed at their brutality.. Very scary police force you have there, alot of them look like they inject steroids and maybe their is a roid rage epedemic is the police force...

The corrupt elite uses censorship & aggression as a regular tactic to suppress dissent & inconvenient questions (corruption in politics, Skull & Bones). They often do it in Mainstream Media & have done it in UF Adrew Meyer's case
& some people who don't realize it are behaving like sheep &, to a certain extent, are collaborating with the corrupt elite
YOU ALL ARE AWESOME!!!! I'm so proud of these students! I'm a 47 year old father of a college student. I would want my son to act just like you in all this. I SUPPORT ANDREW MEYER!!!
this is all such a joke... you cant trust any "external" bs... just think about one thing, WHERE DO THEIR PAYCHECKS COME FROM = WHERE THEIR MOUTHS ARE ;D
In Indiana a man (David Snyder) was ejected from a town hall meeting and on the way out the cop shove him through the door onto the ground and started pounding on him. It's pretty messed up.
You can still find it on google. Search "David Snyder"
The way to really counter this threath is to ask every public speaker whether they are a part of the skull and bones society and then have a web site of such people where a concerted campaingn is put up to root out evil from public politics.
Great action!!! Again, the students need to flex their political muscle and promote progressive politics in that town so that the cops wind up working for the people and not taking orders from corporate flaks from the ACCENT "speakers bureau"!!!
ACCENT Speaker's Bureau, the largest student-run speakers bureau in the nation, has been bringing prominent speakers to the University of Florida since the 1960s. (352) 392-1665 ext. 306 Ask for Max Tryoler, he was one of the suited guys who gave the order to the ufp to go after myers. They are the ones who started all of this.
The guy speaking is really inspiring. Yes, we are all watching this. I dearly hopes he, and those he inspires, follow through with this case until tasers are correctly considered to be what they are - instruments of torture that have no place in any civilized society.
secondly, he was arrested for disturbing the peace and, susequently, resisting arrest. dont get me wrong, im on the kid's side. i personally think kerry deserves shit thrown in his face, like every other lying politician. but the kid wasnt arrested for the wrong reasons.
and thirdly, why does EVERYTHING become a race issue?? :/
WOW...quite the opposite...the media would LOVE to get their hands on such a solid gold controversy. The police would probably drop the charges to avoid negative public opinion id he was black.
yep. the nazi are back!! Study the new Bush laws, differant words, same nazi history!! Time to choose a side, the Truth Warriors Vs. the Nazi Skull and Bone Grinders!!
I pray America learns something from this & stand up as a people in future. Your Government & the police works FOR THE PEOPLE! Not the other way around REMEMBER THAT.
Lets see if you have the balls to stand up for whats right next time instead of being a bunch of fucking brainwashed ignorants
BlindJustice15-I responded to your point on the 3rd part of this video. I will simply say the logic is all wrong here. You don't stand up against murder by killing someone. There are times when people are going to say or do things we don't agree with. Don't you see, you are doing exactly what you are protesting against. Kerry didn't want to hear or deal with a conflicting opinion. Do you have the nuts to do just that or do you need a taser?
I watched the Part III portion of this video before this, and at the end there was a very articulate young man speaking to the media. I found the statement that he would not take questions from Fox News a complete disgrace. You carry on this protest in the name of free speech, and then you refuse to allot the same privilege to others. Do you realize what a bunch of hypocritical morons you are being perceived as?
I went to school with the kid in this video and he is a typical leftist. His ideas are dangerous and he shouldn't be aloud to speak publicly or he will just make things as crazy as he did in high school. His name is Ben Dictor so if you meet him just tell him you don't want to listen to his liberal garbage.
Who are you??! to decide who shall have rights to speeech and what subject that speech follows!!...get a life, don't you know when you stand up for his rights you are protecting your rights from those that look at you as a pawn in their game.
Any million dollar executives out there? See that cop in the uniform? Go check out ALL the videos of this guy. I dont'know how you would use him - but this guy is A class fuck up the biggest bank robbery kind of guy.
Tasers are ONLY supposed to be used in a situation that would normally require a gun. Meyers did NOTHING requiring a gun. PERIOD. LEARN TO PLAY OR TAKE THEM AWAY. I side FIRMLY with these students.
wrong. Tasers, as per the acceptable use of force guidelines (at least here in Canada) Are a non lethal weapon, and as such are placed below batons. In fact, being tased is better than being physically restrained, it hurts like hell, but is only temporary, a broken wrist will last for months. (and yes, breaking his wrist is acceptable
When will people open their eyes and stop protecting cops from their terrorism on the streets of our cities. Cops are public servants, and if they say they are not, walk away as they are delusional and probably on some mad power trip.
How was he not being peaceful? Did you even watch the full tape? He was asking very important questions. The point here is he was denied his first amendment and arrested for trying to do so.
learn the law, it was a public forum, he was no threat to anyone, he just fluffed the officers ego. At no point and time did they place him under arrest, they man handled him, and invaded his liberty and space.
Just humans on the common law land. The cops broke the law when they manhandled him without cause. Refused for cause for failure to state a claim. Know the law or cops will tell you their version of it, which is totally unlawful.
Dude shut the fuck up. Stop trying to put anti-semitism into everything. This has nothing to do with that issue you fucking terrorist. Go watch a car bomb video or somethin!
everyone who does not conform to your views you consider a terrorist? It seems that tactics of our president and government is working. Learn to think for yourself.
Andrew Meyer is a dick. There are certain courtesies this Nation has, in this case at a public gathering. That dink, Andrew Meyer, crossed over the line by leaps and bounds. He was a rude jackass. If everyone acted like him, the world would be in chaos... Envision all of the people in that room acting like him, people would have been hurt.
How was a Andrew a genital? Just because he was asking important questions, that most people are to scared to ask? He had the dangling parts of the genitals that most don't. He was not rude he was assertive in front of the microphone.
Taser is just a nice word for cattle prod which is exactly how the campus security sees all of you. shame on them and shame on the people who were cheering during his struggle. When people cheer the loss of free speach the terrorists have won.

"still don't see what forum rules he violated"
All forum rules to be moderated > Meyer jumped the line & ignored the moderators.
1 question > 6 without pausing for an answer
30 seconds > Well over 2 minutes.
No vulgarity > "blowjob"
No disruptive behavior > he was disruptive & disrespectful.

Are you really this stupid? Or are you a troll?

He was already in trouble for breaking other forum rules, they were just giving him a chance to ask one question.
"he got thrown out for asking a question" And you are incorrect. He got thrown out for breaking a stack of forum rules. The last straw was his saying "blowjob" violating a rule against vulgarity.
His getting tossed out had nothing to do with his question re: S&B, as you will note the police were already standing right behind him long before that question was posed.

ok i see whats happening here and i gotta play devil's advocate.
TheKreator03 3 years ago
No, it's not because he was talking about impeachment. His raving about the governemnt and being wrongfuly arrested, when all he needed to do was walk out definitely contributed to why he was eventually tackled, but that's not why his mic was cut. The guy had been kicked out BEFORE the video starts and refused to leave. Then Kerry told security to let him ask a question, but instead, he started preaching and went back to demanding his chance to speak because Kerry spoke "bullshit" all day.
virtualdynamo 3 years ago
Hey virtual i see what you are saying; im not saying that its right or wrong im just giving you what the constitution says...Believe it or not the police were legally correct with what they did, however it may have been morally incorrect. Arrested means to stop or cease. If one doesnt agree with the reason they were "stopped" he/she may plead their case in a court. During the arrest is not the time or place to plea whether you are guilty or innocent, hence innocent until "proven guilty"
TheKreator03 3 years ago
I agree with you Kreator. I was just pointing out that if you know the whole story, you realize it was not the impeachment talk that got him in trouble.
But yeah, his "free speech" has nothing to do with this. He is told to leave for good reason and refuses. Then it is the security force's job to remove him. They are cops and he fights with them, so he is now breaking the law. Like you said, the time to protest is not while you are in the process of breaking a law or struggling with cops.

First amendment issues aside, it doesn't take a taser to restrain someone when there are that many police.
anarchrisis 3 years ago 5
you can clearly hear Kerry tell them to let him answer the question. Once the cops got on their power trip he wasnt gonna get in the middle of that. But I agree with everything else you said.

"Did he do anything to necessitate getting thrown out of the forum?"
Yes.
"When getting thrown out of the forum did he do anything to necessitate getting arrested?"
Yes.
"When getting arrested did he do anything to necessitate getting pinned down?"
Yes.
"When getting pinned down did he do anything to necessitate getting tazered?"
That one is arguable. I don't know that it was "necessary", but it wasn't outside of the law either. He shouldn't have fought them.
virtualdynamo 3 years ago
Dude my brother got tazered for trying to break up a fight that his friend was in. After, the cops didn't even charge him with anything. Tazers are used to disable people.
Watch the part where he is on the ground. How long is it until he is tazered?
How many times did he swear at the cops?
How many times did the cops tell him to "stop, or you will be tazered"?
Wouldn't you call his behavior "resisting arrest"?
If you don't call that resisting arrest then you are a little slanted.

jason420jason 4 years ago
Bush was getting asked strange/awkward/stupid questions and the police tried to remove the kid, but Bush said "STOP LET HIM TALK" and the police backed away. Kerry was a total wimp. "i ll answer his question ill answer it, but ill answer his questions" wasn't exactly forceful enough to inspire me. I dont see whats so funny in laughing at the kid, getting tazed for not staying within time limit, asking what he did and such.
huhokay 4 years ago
He wasn't arrested for asking a question. He was arrested for asking a question the cops didn't understand. Kerry understood it and acknowledged it was "A very important question", but because the cops didn't understand the question, in error, they believed that Meyer was badgering Kerry.

BlindJustice15-I responded to your point on the 3rd part of this video. I will simply say the logic is all wrong here. You don't stand up against murder by killing someone. There are times when people are going to say or do things we don't agree with. Don't you see, you are doing exactly what you are protesting against. wrong. Tasers, as per the acceptable use of force guidelines (at least here in Canada) Are a non lethal weapon, and as such are placed below batons. disobeying an officer of the peace
it's pretty cut and dry.
dkeough722 4 years ago
There was no order to be disobeyed, or no peace being breached, learn the facts. The officers are going to be slap with a fine and be sued.

dkeough722- There was no breach of the peace.
When will people open their eyes and stop protecting cops from their terrorism on the streets of our cities. Cops are public servants, and if they say they are not, walk away as they are delusional and probably on some mad power trip.

If he was arrested for "Resisting" arrest, then that implies he was "Under" arrest. So the question would be -
What was the charge of the arrest, that this kid was supposed to be "Resisting"?

Bush appointed 11 Skull and Bones members to his Administration in his first term.
Skull & Bones is the U.S. branch of a German secret society.

These people just want to get on tv. Yes, what the police did was wrong. But they need to realize when to be vigilant, and when to be peaceful.

How was he not being peaceful? Did you even watch the full tape? He was asking very important questions. The point here is he was denied his first amendment and arrested for trying to do so.
markangeloc 4 years ago
He was clearly resisting arrest. They had grounds for arrest because he deliberately disobeyed a peace officer, a felony.

learn the law, it was a public forum, he was no threat to anyone, he just fluffed the officers ego. At no point and time did they place him under arrest, they man handled him, and invaded his liberty and space.
markangeloc 4 years ago
You can "Disobey" a cop, who are they anyway?
Just humans on the common law land. The cops broke the law when they manhandled him without cause. Refused for cause for failure to state a claim. Know the law or cops will tell you their version of it, which is totally unlawful.

I am kind of waiting for people to say "So what was that about Kerry and Bush belonging to a secret society called Skull and Bones?"
People ought to look into it. I did.

No - Andrew was "goatboy" on SNL and deserved to be tased.

Taser is just a nice word for cattle prod which is exactly how the campus security sees all of you. shame on them and shame on the people who were cheering during his struggle. When people cheer the loss of free speach the terrorists have won.
