  • the games shown are oil panic and donkey kong

  • Nintendo DS. The early years.

  • that would be awesome if ds was the size of that.

  • Aimed at their target audience there.

  • Yeeeeeesh......without adjusting for inflation, these would cost $78.16 USD each today.

  • these are the type of games they had back in my day lol

  • ammm they are adult and they look quite educated and they sit down in the park and play the nintendo? O_o

  • the beginning of the nintendo ds

  • wow this is really old but seriously u got mufti screens on handheld console but waaaaaaaay back wow

  • It says NO instead of "iie"

    Hai / ii = Yes

    iie = no

  • @Gizametalman yeah i wondered why they dont say iie

  • my parents used to play game and watch when they were young. these games look awesome compared to new crap.

  • what i dont understand is why did this go to a gameboy with has 1 screen? why not just directly have a ds?

  • the game & watch IS a nintendo product. donkey kong first appeared here.

  • The original nintendo DS :D

  • The most humble and polite advert I have ever seen...

  • "Cigarette case?" Um... fairly sure that's not kid friendly questioning.

  • "Dual screens, three times the fun."

What? What kinda logic was that?

  • @TheOfficialComokanu

The one where you use 1 hand to play with yourself and the other to play the gay watch hence 3 times the fun.

  • Game and watcha Larger Screen!!!!

  • The 3DS's grandfather

  • DONGKEE KOUNG MULTEESCREEN

  • wow, a normal japanese commercial

    This is weird

  • @Batpod05 Gotta love them Japanese commercials

  • @Batpod05 Normal by your standards ;) What may seem weird to you, does not seem weird to them. In Fact i think japanese commercials are full of life, While America's are just boring

  • @WaterCrystalline true, never thought of it like that. I guess you have to give the japanese credit for their imagination, with american and british commercials, you kind of know what to expect

  • @Batpod05 This is a weird commercial in Japan

  • Donkay Kong Oi Panik! Sorry. I should be so uh.... accentish...

  • wow, I remember playing this as a kid

  • @TheRealGameAndWatch

    SUCCESS!!

    Thank you, sir.

    Have a wonderful evening. :)

  • @ClippleNips Dont you know who he actually is?

  • Comment removed

  • @ClippleNips Yeah, its true, go to his channel, theres proof awaiting you there

  • @luigipizza41

Ok, so he IS Game and Watch. Regardless, if he's so butt hurt about newer technology, then he shouldn't buy them... It's that simple.

  • @ClippleNips He never said he was butthurt about new technology

  • @luigipizza41

That's because I said it. Hurp.

He said he misses the old days, and implied that he doesn't like the 3DS and NGP. Correct me if I'm wrong.

  • I was lol how he said Donkey Kong

  • GAMUWATCHI-MARUCHISKUREEN

  • damn, this console now must cost more than a wii, an xbox 360 and a PS3 together...

  • Nintendo should make DS that mimics the case of the old game and watch's that would be cool in my opinion, Like how they made the NES sp.

  • Cigarette Case? No, it be crack :S

  • good times :P

  • No DS, I AM YOUR FATHER! Ds:No. No. That's not true! That's impossible!

  • @RetroShinigami *cough* 6000 yen is around 55-66$ which isin't that much for such a classic.

Try finding an old Atari console for under 500$ in the US....

  • This commercial is calming and peaceful.

  • the great grandfather of the ds

  • Munchy screen!

  • 6000 yen, damn that was like $80

  • game and watch for 6000 yen .... really expensive

  • did he said '' monkeyscreen''?

  • @goldentwist007 Where do you hear the word "monkey" in "multi-screen"?

  • Ya see when people could mention cigarettes and it wasn't considered a sin??

  • the very first DS is from japan where i was born there so i got the very new one but that old one is from 1980 because japanese people are very smart than USA and canada

  • Not only the Nintendo DS was influenced by it, the Punch-Out!! and PlayChoice 10 arcades and the Virtual Boy (using two screens for 3D effects) were also influenced by the Multi-Screen series of Game & Watch handhelds.

  • its the new DS and its better with the 3DS and the PS3 and XBOX360 wow! xD

  • These games are for download on the dsi shop channel under 200 pts!

  • looks like nintendo ds

  • Gem wochi maruchi sucrin!

  • MACHY SKREEN

  • game and watch is for nintendo club members... they also released it for ds (to club members) but like a regular game. I have this rom on my ds

  • geime watchiiii

  • this is the grandfather of the ds

  • I love how in japan they use English so much.

  • @5k4k1dhtp its because there is a core class in school where they learn English

  • @Cookieparts Ahh cool, I didn't know.

Also, I'm not sure why I didn't capitalize Japan before... It should be capitalized...

  • game 'n watch is so much better that all the gameboys but now as good as ds and dslite and dsi but it is better that dsiXL

  • my god...

  • heres how the story of pokemon is supposed to be.mew and aceus we're both beings of great power. arceus creat dialgal and palkia. Mew granted them the power of time and space.then they created time and space along with giratina the distortion pokemon. then arceus created pokemon to live in the time and space. Mew gave them life. and then the 3 emotion pokemon(from diamond and peral) created emotions and thus the world of pokemon.

copy and paste to all pokemon videos to help the fan out

  • @gopets82 you mean, your story?... cause all what you are saying is just some pokemon fan dream.

  • @gopets82 your wrong 1. giratina is the pokegod 2. even though mew contains the dna of all the pokemon doesnt mean it had anything nto do with the creation of pokemon it couldve just been an after effect or sumthign and three nothing that important wouldve been an event pokemon .. mew was an event pokemon yes but in the original japanese version you didnt need to go to an event so mew may still be part of the storry but arceus has nothing to do with it

  • it was expensive when it came out. i remember buying 2 every year. one for my birthday and another one for christmas. i even had that micro vs system boxing game and watch with two controllers for two players. the good old days. this was portable gaming way back. thanks to gunpei yokoi, kids today have their nintendo DS

  • 0:13 i thought that guy was saying "touchscreen"

  • gameoowatcheh mulchy screen

  • WOW! 6000 yen!

  • 60 DOLLARS!!??? XDDDDDDDDD

  • the guys voice is he said (Numb) LOL

  • whoa!! I used to play this game when I was 8 years old!

    I am 36yrs old now.

  • Not only the Multi-Screen series of Game & Watch handhelds were what the Nintendo DS was inspired by, but it was also inspired by the last three arcade games Nintendo independently-created (Punch-Out!!, Super Punch-Out!! and Arm Wrestling), as well as the Virtual Boy (which uses two screens to create a 3D effect).

  • gay watchy, majora scream

  • I'm always amazed by the pronunciations of occidental words by Japaneses.

  • Nintendo DS, this is your father..

  • @FrogTesticle NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! lol

  • @FrogTesticle

nintendo 3DS, this is your grandfather, virtual boy is your mom

  • @TheNinwii

3DS, your mom is actualy ugly

  • @FrogTesticle NO!!!!! THATS IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!

  • @FrogTesticle Then who is his mother?

  • @FrogTesticle grandfather

  • I bought the orange Donkey Kong for one euro a few years ago. It still works perfectly and I am happy to own one of these originals. As a kid I broke the ones I had, as every kid always does. These games are the best. I am still looking for Oil panic.

  • @bazajaysee - These were so great. They're adding these old game watch games to the DS store. If you never played the originals, they can be quite boring. Luckily, I owned the Donkey Kong Jr. one.

Mine was a redesign though. Much thinner and more compact than these big hunkin' things you see in this commercial. Mine was a single screen too.

  • nintendo's first step to portable gaming

    game and watch

    gameboy and colour upgrade

    virtual boy (which sucks)

gameboy advance and SP and mirco upgrade

nintendo ds and lite, dsi with camera and mp3 player and dsi xl upgrades

    nintendo 3DS unknown for now

  • i got g&w chef on the dsiware, its soooo fucking addictive!

  • I bought the G&W versions for the DSi, I like those old games.

  • it look like the ds

  • it looks like a ds

  • No, a DS looks like a game & watch.

  • @Velofarm The Nintendo DS doesn't resemble every Game & Watch handheld. Most use one B&W LCD screen, some colored LCD screens (e.g. Panorama Screens, TableTop).

  • @1983parrothead: of course I meant the dual screens. I do have a pretty ok collection of Game & Watches of all types. :)

  • @Velofarm

Well considering most of us saw the DS first, it kinda is the other way.

  • funny how they don't have their own japanese words to say some things. Thye just took english words and made it sound japanese LOL

  • how much is 6000 yen?

  • Comment removed

  • @purplepotatochipPPC About $60

  • @purplepotatochipPPC bout 60 bucks. but with inflation it'd be about $154.20

  • I think this is where Nintendo got their DS Idea. No Wait. I know this is where Nintendo got their DS idea.

  • "Cigaretto" case? ;)

  • quite slim and slick for it's time.

    Games are pretty fun too.

I remember playing manhole, mario/luigi and donkeykong in mid 80's

  • i had both and donkey kong jr and zelda. now where the hell did i put it?? :(

  • Compacto? Cigarette case? Children's Game!

  • GAY WATCH

  • i rated a 1 star by accident when i tried to press play.......sorry .....5 stars!

  • I want one.

  • is how a nintendo ds ^^

  • How much is it in HKD?

    If 100 yen = 7.5 HKD,

    Then 6000 yen =...

    450HKD!!!

    OMG! SO EXPENSIVE!

  • @badmonkeyballplayer lol standards of living. Remember, currency rates then were not based from currency rates now. So 6000 yen could be like what...100 HKD 30 years ago? I could be wrong with the calculation but you get my point.

  • Well, Japanese is basically ripped off Chinese, and Japan borrow many words from other languages and they are still doing it today. Just like root words in english are based off latin.

  • @Shad0wBlah There isn't a single language in the world that doesn't include words from other languages. Japanese borrows words from english mainly because they don't have the word anyways. Why don't you do some research before you post an asshole comment like that?

  • @1eevee133 Well I'm sorry I didn't word my comment smartly, but I am part Japanese and living in Japan and I'm not trying to insult anyone. My bad my wording was bad, but no need to be so aggressive.

  • That was the first DS.

  • does anyone know what theyre sayin?

  • For the most part. It's just in Engrish.

    -Compact?

-No. Game and Watch. Match screen.

    -Cigarette case?

-No. Game and Watch. Match Screen.

  • @Kalatos "Multi Screen", not "Match Screen"

  • I don't know "Engrish"

  • Okay. Basically Engrish is the English language spoken by people native to Japan. Since it is their second language, it comes off sounding slightly different.

Come to think of it, it is the same way with us when we try to spake other languages. I wonder if Japan has a name for that, lol.

  • I've got Donkey Kong II and Donkey Kong Junior.

Also Balloon Fight Crystal Screen, they've been sold for 300 dollars where I live.

  • Nintendo was aware these things looked like compacts this long ago? Damn them...

  • ゲーム&ウオッチ!

    Ge mu uochi!

  • And you thought Mario was old!

  • does anyone here think its weird that i would rather play one of THESE rather than something like a DS?

  • me i do

  • I'm just like that. Still have my good ole NES.

  • really? wow i thought i was like the only person like that thinking that things dont have to be new to be fun

my brother isnt exactly like that though

as an example when he got Assassins Creed he loved that game then when he got Assassins Creed 2 he wouldnt even touch the first one

  • @indyj1698 To his credit, Assassin's Creed 2 actually is better than Assassin's Creed 1 in every way. Unless you got a fetish for Islam or something...

  • Man, this is really expensive!

  • actually 6,000 yen is onlt about 57 dollars american.

  • yeah but 57 $ for a thing like that is not cheap, nes or snes is much cheaper.

  • i have snoopy tennis widescreen :)

  • Totally doesn't look like a DS.

  • Totally? No.

  • I have Super Mario Bros and Bomb Sweeper (it's a multiscreen like in the video)

And a bunch of those mini classic reissues you can find in Walmart.

  • I REALLY WANT THAT!

  • WOW!!! I didn't know the Nintendo DS has been around that long!!!
