I think of these two as 2/3 of the "Glasses Triplets:" Herbie Hancock is the third. The ONLY way this unimprovable performance could have been surpassed would be if HH (and his glasses) were at a third piano.

are you serious? for one thing, billy taylor is SICK at piano. have you seen him play live? his left hand is almost as good as his right hand at soloing, so i highly doubt what you said about oscar peterson. chick corea really would not fit because he's too obsessed with planning out what he's gonna play. rubalcaba has a tyner-esque modal style that wouldn't fit at all, camilo is all about latin jazz, and bill evans? swings in a completely different style. most of those examples are ludicrous.

this ain't a cut session, man. i disagree with your entire mentality. look at it as music, not as a display of chops and machismo. how busy do you want a duo to sound beyond what you're hearing in this video? not to mention, the stylistic feel is right up oscar's alley. if you truely knew about billy, you'd realize he's far more versatile than many of the others, and his music doesn't get stale. it's a shame that so many people think of this music as a competition.
