okay so i understand why all of you are saying that pageants are "child abuse" and that you "hate them". but i am a pageant girl. i started pageants 4 years ago. before pageants, i was insecure, bullied, also i had NO self confidence . there's more to pageants than what you see on a show like this. all pageant girls do so much community service activities and give so much back to the community. you all have NO right to judge us and call us mean names. there's more to pageants than what you see.

this is not bad because the kids want to do it..they also want all the games and a spider for a pet and a spaceship and to drive a ship!lets do all their favors because they asked them!plus i am sure that the first words of those girls were i want to be a beauty pageant!its not that mothers with issues and very low self esteem wanted it!nooo you people are so unfair...and to every mom who want this for her daughter,even if your little girl likes it, its still all about how ugly you feel inside

@franzzzzeska HAVE YOU SEEN WHAT THEY DO TO THESE KIDS?? I read an article about Toddlers & Tiaras, and most of them HATE it! They have to have their eyebrows waxed - watch that video with that girl who's mom forces her to have her eyebrows waxed even though the kids' screaming "NO! NO! NO! Please, no!" - and some of them get their teeth whitened, and they are stuck up, rich little bitches.
I'm sorry, but personally, I think these pageants should be banned for kids under 8.

It came from a very bad side of human culture that's where! This is only teaching young girls what their worth is, and that is makeup, clothes, big hair and a tan. You know, there was also a time when kids wanted to grow up to be slave-owners.. it depends what kind of culture YOU support. Stop pretending to be blind.

I think natural pageants are okay, glitz ones are a bit excessive. and with all the money spent on pageants, the kid who is trying to get a college scholarship, she could just save her money from pageant dresses and fees and use that for college!

I think child beauty pageants are just bad. Children shouldn't be taught that beauty is aton of makeup and a shitload of hairspray. Society is already centered around outside beauty far too much. Shouldn't the children learn that beauty is inside?

Some parents, these girls and boys who are pressured into following the dream of a father, mother, siblings or just the idea from them that they will win also is soo wrong. Some parents dont even realise what there pushing when most of the time it has no meaning to the child other than being everythng there parents precieve them to be. Like me when i was young my child wants to do something then quits, and thats cool. He will find what he wants in his own time.

They are being caked with chemicals, and sprayed with crap I wouldn't subject my dog too. Start reading the labels on this makeup, shampoo, and hair products! Get the Book, (What's in my products?) I think that's the name...poisons! these are the same parents that never read labels on foods either. They have almost perfect children and make them feel like they're not perfect, otherwise why all the paint?

I hate how everyone thinks that child beauty pageants are torture. I bet none of you actually know children in beauty pageants, because most of them want to do it. Yeah, there are some out of control parents that cake them in makeup and make them wear skanky clothes at a young age and force them to compete in pageant, but that's the bad side which is only like 10-15% Get your facts straight people.

I can't believe these pageants are actually held. Breaks my heart to see them having to go through this, knowing that they don't want to do it. Kids should be playing outside, not drown in make-up.. I'm a lot older as them, but i've never worn as much make-up as most of them in these pageants are. Thats my opinion..
