  • anyone know where i can buy a sheet of grip tape?

  • @BELEVEIT1 try your local skateshop

  • This is why exit is the best at gripping boards. They take off the lacquer. I haven't seen any other skate shop do this.

  • he looks like lizard king

  • I LIKE MOB

  • I am loving the Max-ness!!!!

  • What a good lookin' guy! I am a fan now of a sport I can't do!

  • Where can I buy the screwinwheeltool?

  • just poke a small hole if you get an air bubble and squeeze the air out. sanding down the edge of the grip ( 2:55 ) doesn't ensure the grip sticks to the board. leaving it as is and not sanding it makes the edges more gripy, but its not going to pull the grip off the board or something. i personally prefer the look and feel of the deck when its not sanded. and when you poke holes through for the hardware be sure to press the grip back down around the board holes before putting on hardware.

  • @decisionvida the nose is a bit bigger then the tail

  • I was putting on my grip tape and a kitten jumped onto my board right when I stuck the grip tape down. Hes now trapped underneath the grip tape. Should I start over or just leave him under there?? I mean he wasnt my cat so its not that urgent.

  • 13 people got air bubbles

  • @decisionvida the nose is longer than the tail

  • air bubbles piss me off

  • aam acaso tenia una troca dentro dela llanta

  • TOP.

    XD

  • Mob messes up your shoes faster get jessup

  • @RomanHeng every grip tape messes up yr shoes...if yr shoes are messed up, just buy a new one...simple as that..

  • thx for the hlep cuz i ordered a new board and i have no idea how to grip it but now i do! thx

  • that litle lacker trick is prob only needed for wen the weather is cold

  • wat if ur putting new grip on and need to take the old off wud u be able to if u do that? 0:37

  • is it hard gripping a deck for the first time?

  • @MarylandXterp35 no...i've did it before..

  • @MarylandXterp35 yeah thats wut i want to know too cuz they make it look so easy and i have never done it b4

  • @MarylandXterp35 its tricky but im gunna do it eveytime i get a new deck

  • lol funny off he jus TOSSED his magic screw in wheel tool

  • Which griptape should i buy? MOB, Jessup or Black Magic? What is the difference between them?

  • @DarkDesert23 jessup

  • @DarkDesert23 skating jessup is like skating cup sole shoes, you can do it but your just cheating yourself.

Mob and BM have more grit and last longer, make sure you stay away from anything colored or graphic grip, not only is the grit burned off in the process of finishing these types of grip but you look like a kook. Mob is perforated to reduce air bubbles so if your unsure about gripping your deck its a good starter

  • @akcliffy wut do u mean by cheating yourself? like cuz i ordered jessup and idk how its going to b.

  • @ripstiker20 everyone has a preference so you might be different from me, but I think that jessup has horrible grip, I like skating vulc sole shoes and heavier grit griptape because I like to stick to the deck and have a more aggressive flick. So thats why I use MOB or Black Magic, if you buy something with a lighter grit I think your cheating your self on performance.

  • @DarkDesert23 black magic

  • @DarkDesert23 mob = more grip, once u get a little dirt on there, it feels like brand new jessup. Jessup starts good, but then after awhile it kinda not that great, still skate able tho. black magic is like mob except not perforated (little holes so the air can get out to reduce air bubbles). i would say brand new jessup is nice, but i would say get mob and try to put a little bit of dirt on there.. yes... sounds weird but thats what my local skate shop taught me to do.. and it works. not 2much.

  • blackmagic my friends

    keep it classy

  • You fools are too "new school". Haven't you knew that BLACK MAGIC griptapes are the best griptape ever?

  • wats the point in sanding the edge

  • @1outdooradventures2 so it is equally enclosed/sticked to the edge of the board and it will take more time before it comes off your board.

  • @keanoscarermitano619 ok thanks

  • when he dragged the file across the grip the first time i cringed so bad.

  • @hardytocool101 the grip will peel off

  • mob grip is the best grip ever

  • well i have never had my griptape fall off so i dont realy think taking off the lacker wouldnt be nessacary.

  • How did u get a screw in that wheel?!?!?!?!

  • MOB grip is sick as fuck !

  • leave it all on even the plastic i sk8 a 4x4 so whats up fooooooooo....just playin dont be mad suckazzzzzz...

  • does scrapping some off in the beginin help any?

  • @504mason nah, didnt really work for me.

  • i don't have a razor :( what can i use instead? plz reply!

  • @zterky just buy a razor. you can get them anywhere for like 50 c

  • is this the shop in salem?

  • @TheGassyBoy Yes it is

  • why do u use ur razor blade when u just peeled off the plastic.. wouldnt that just be cutting off the wood? why would u do that?

  • haha grip it grip it lets go rip it my new saying lol

  • what do u do if there still the old griptape on it?:)

  • what i do is take a blowdryer and heat up the grip tape and it will just peel off realy easy

  • break the board and get a new 1

  • i want a brand new board:(

  • wow very nice vid 5* plus fav and sub lmao screw in the wheel tool thats pretty cool thanks a lot this helped me out very much

  • what do you do if there is an air bubble? just poke a hole in it?

  • yes

  • nah just wait and press it down

  • you just poke a hole but most griptapes have little holes all over so there arent bubbles

  • @toymachine135 ok thanks

  • or just skate and evenchuly it wil go

  • nice deck

  • Comment removed

  • wow really are you really asking that question? how old r u like 9 or 10? you buy them at the store duh? home depot, lowes, kfc hahahhahahahaa jk about kfc

  • get an exacto knife from a hardware store

  • if you have airbubbles just take a thumbtac and press a hole in it and press it down

  • damn dude.

    hella pro grip job.

i always forget to take the leftover grip and sand down....now i remember

  • To everyone who keeps complaining about Mob being too grippy, one word, shoe goo.

  • does scraping the lacquer off really help, or does it fuck it up?

  • actually it does, i tried it nd it does so yeah pretty much

  • sick it works no air bubbles yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • no air bubles!!! yeee))))

  • song is helium disco

  • Wth guys stop commenting on which grip is the best . It's all preference. Want it sticky as possible? Mob. Want it a bit slippery? Jessup. in between? BM. easy.

  • haha yup dude mob kills my shoes fast.

  • hahaha. me to but i love mob. it also gives me blisters from time i grab my board and throw it down for momentum every trick i do

  • what the fuck skrew thorugh the wheel tool

  • stfu thebabyblow, you suck fat dick

  • lol

  • he left a big white outline on the board

  • mob is too rough and it leaves bad grip cuts

    jessup is just right.

  • all about jessup

  • damn strait

  • Nice :)

  • to ensure you don't get bubbles, after you put the grip on you can put the backing of the grip (paper) and put it over the gripped side of a board and take a wheel that is already on a truck and roll the wheel over the paper smoothing out all the air bubbles

  • or you could just use mob

  • and then you can buy hella pairs of shoes because it hella tears your shoes up

  • mob screws up your shoes

  • thanx man, you really helped me!

My friend cutted in 3 fingers xD

    but it was ok too

  • can u use a box cutter, and do you have to file it? also, could use the flat surface of the blade to file it? i've never gripped my own board before, so i dont want to mess up :)

  • use a screw driver instead of a file,it doesn't work 100% the same.but its good enough.

  • lol grip it and rip it.

  • you look like a max.

  • i just bought a deck today from exit =)

  • he explains really good .

  • no air bubbles Weee

  • this guy explains it so good XD

  • lol nice vid

  • black diamond ftw

  • take a wheel or something that will roll and roll it across the grip to just stick it on smooothhh

  • I have a question I've been using jessup, so i don't know how mob is better.

  • mob has little holes that helps so u dont have air bubbles and its pretty grippy, but its in opinion

  • i wouldnt say its "better" its all personal preferance. But i do like how mob has holes in it so you dont get bubbles.

  • like every1

  • Grip It,Grip It, Lets Go Rip It lol

  • mob is the best

  • @notpure ya but it tears up your shoes really bad cuz its so coarse

  • mob sux donkey balls

jessup all the way, and west 49 best skate store out there

  • dude that tattoo of exit on ur fingers is gnar gnar.

  • it aint gnar gnar cause ther ring rings lol

  • lol i thought they were stickers

  • na if u look close u can see the slits were they join to make rings

  • i think they are stick stickers too

  • Wow, now I'm going to do that, great video!

  • hehe stickers

  • honestly....who the FUCK SAYS HEHE

  • they make it look so easy

  • Hmm this is better than expert village !

  • hmm..i think this is the best explanation about how to put a grip tape on board ..

    exitRealWord..

you make a great job..better than expert village..

  • is world industries grip good

  • get mob

  • mob kills your shoes

  • so does all grip tape

  • but MOB does the most. its way too grippy

  • Mob Sucks It Peals Gnar Gnar

  • don't get anything from world industries

  • hey EXITrealworldshop, quick question... would taking the lacquer off make it more apt to become water logged?

  • No. It makes the griptape stick down better which makes it even less likely to become waterlogged.

  • skateboards are wood bro...you gotta keep em dry or else the wood warps. taking off the lacquer underneath the griptape shouldnt affect anything either way. especially since u dnt remove all of it...

  • PLEASE REPLY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!

so i'm going to buy a skateboard at ebay, but i just realized that it doesn't come with grip tape. Do i really need grip tape to ride a skateboard? What does a skatboard look like without grip tape? Also will it be dangerous to ride without one? I just want to ride for fun around my neiborhood. Will i look weird without grip tape? PLEASE ANSWER!!

  • dude r u serious...... u need griptape... even though u want to just ride around the neighborhood, u should get griptape, and without it u would look retarded

  • dude are you a moron... of course you need grip tape..

  • if you just want to ride aound, get a longboard or a cruiser.

  • Hey musicbox10139...yeah you def want to throw some grip tape on there. Grip tape is a key element on a skateboard because it helps your feet grip on to your board no matter what kind of skating you're doing. And it's usually only like $5! Worth the investment to help those footsies enjoy cruising on your board.

  • LOL NOOB

  • it will look weird and u DO need grip or else u fall or slip off board n its doesnt cost alot

  • @musicbox10139 you're a fucking retard

  • @musicbox10139 maybe you should consider a longboard if you're just riding around for fun.

  • lol after working at a skateshop... grippin over few hundreds of boards. i never did take the "lacquer" off, though eaiser way for me to avoid bubble and easier, use the sheet of wax papaer from the grip tape lay it on top with the grip on the board and push and slide across the board.. it'll take off all bubble and easier/faster... for me anyway

  • agreed

  • thanks man!!!!

  • just got a new deck today, and i watched this video and it WORKED perfectly. thanks !!! ( scraping the lacquer off really helps)

  • do you have to scratch the lacquer off?

  • dont have to but sticks better if done

  • where do you get a razor blade?

  • hardware stores micheals will have exacto knives wich are like rzors but like a pen too

  • now one ever sratches of the lcquer

  • i just moved here but do you guys have banana boards or anything like that?

  • do u have to sand the edge???

  • yeah! definitely sand the edges!

  • THX!

  • when ure cutting off the exess grip do u have to use a razor blade or can u use a pen knife?

    I NEED HELP

  • pen knife cut wont be clean, unless its a real good pen knife...

  • Pen knife? u mean exacto knife?

  • it's a lot easier if you use a razor blade!

  • yeah you can use the side of a wrench or anything metal

and if you take the lacker off then it makes it harder if you want to take the grip off later

and it will still stay on forever if you dont scrap the lacker

  • are there other things i can use instead of a file?

  • saw this guy at skatepark today

  • ive never seen anyone scrap the lacquer off. sounds like a good tip

  • I just grip my board for the first time and did it good nice tip

  • nice finger stickers!!! lol

  • i didnt know about the scraping the laquer off thing. ill remember that.

  • i just griped my deckfor the fisrt time and i did a pretty bad job

  • mob

  • omg skateboarding is so exspensive for me.........I need a good job haha

  • just dont break boards duh!!! lol

  • cheaper than bmx

  • all the file does is sticks the grip to the bored and makes it harder to cut cox he ain't actually fileing it off

  • thnx dude

  • taking off the laqcer does help; i noticed a difference in the two

  • does it? i put on new griptape myself, didn't scrape the lacquer and now its peeling on the ends a little.

  • this foo looks gay as fuck

  • Yo, I'll Play You Skate For The Nixon Banks Plaid Watch Of Urs

  • i need help, when i push my skateboard,it just goes to the left or right on its own, what should i do?
