It is a bit random.The interviewer thinks the guy was unfaithful, KB says no.Surely he was, he thought Babooshka was another woman.The fact that she reminded him of his wife doesn't detract from that. In other words, he still loves his wife, and the love for the wife is the one that made him attracted to Babooshka.
