  • unfortunately a 10$ to 12$ an hour job has become standard for entry level in certain positions. I think 12$ an hour while peanuts, is better then no job, or a job at wallmart with no room for advancement or future that pays $8 an hour. I think the important thing to gauge when taking on a new job A) is there room for you to grow with the company/room for advancement B) what do you bring to the table, and how does said job improve your skill set.

  • my Uncle was a VP at Motorola, he started out a Long Island based Symbol Tech which was a homegrown local company that The Weyland Yutani Cor- uh I mean Motorola- Corporation purchased in 07. He saw the layoff coming and quit, ironically he is now working for a black-ops weapons manufacturer.

  • The quickest way to increase your expendable cash is to reduce your spending. We don't need technology... IG; cell phones, cable tv, home internet, wifi. Get your internet at any free wifi spot. We don't need stupid food... IG; pizza, chips, pop, gatorade. Get your staple food from the grocery, drink tap water. If you go back to school study a trade... IG; plumber, computer repair, EMT... Any job where you stare at a computer moniter all day can be sent over seas with the click of the mouse.

  • Why is MOT doing bad? Naturally it's the people working at MOT. Who are these people?

MOT's policy has been to discriminate against white American technical people. To discriminate against white Americans over the age of 40. MOT then gave those jobs to H-1B foreigners. Because the U.S. politicial & justice system is corrupt MOT was never prosecuted for discrimination, a FELONY.

CEO Brown & foreigner Sanjay Jha should be FIRED. CFO P. Liska quit.

STOP DISCRIMINATION or end like Lucent.

  • Going to school to learn Chinese is probably going to be beneficial in the future, and less costly at the community level. Being multilingual has many advantages to employment.

    Thank you, DC.

    Five-by

  • I'm surprised you were able to make two complete sentences. Are your Mother and Father aware that you're using the computer without supervision?

  • I agree with the other poster who says don't go to college. Its been a waste of money for years now unless you get a very in demand degree.

BTW Demcad I thought you were employed right now why you looking for a job?

  • The story took place over a year ago when I was in Michigan. I'm an AmeriCorps VISTA in Alaska. I'm in my final month and now I'm looking for a job again.

  • Good luck with your job search!!

  • best choices for education is technical training centers/vocational schools and community college...unless you are seeking a profession such as educator, doctor, lawyer, cpa...

  • 2 years ago i went to a vocational school to see if i could get some computer training but they were asking for $16,000 for 12 months of training. half the classes were absurd anyway. i declined. i am still paying for my previous college adventure and i have no stomach for more debt.

  • Unfortunately americans have been told that college is for everyone...it simply isnt..and only 20% of jobs require a degree...most jobs filled by degreed folks could be done with out a degree and On the Job Training..OJT

  • great video, your better than the networks for the daily news ...i tune in to you everyday for the top stories

  • I personally believe, some people don't have maps....

  • Thx and god bless

  • how cold is it in Alaska? it was -2 in stl i think we were colder =] thanks for the video.

  • DONT GO TO COLLEGE!!! It is a waist of time and money. I have 2 College degrees and cant find a job in either field. DONT GO!!! To top it off Im still over $30k in debt because of it. Please dont do it to yourself... Just a warning!!!

  • And look at the people who went: Alan Greenspan, Ben Bernanke, Tim Geithner, George W. Bush.

    College clearly makes ya dumber.

  • Ya, There idiots. LOL. But they already had a silver spoon in there mouths at birth so they were garentied a job in whatever field they wanted even before they were born. Anyone that had to work for it is usually screwed.

  • my sister is graduating from college this coming semester and she now realizes she should of trained to be a seamstress or a baker instead of majoring in advertisement. i think the best thing you could be is a mechanic. nobody is going to be buying a new car every year anymore.

  • Either that or the medical field. But, I think its gonna get a lot worse for atleast the next 10 years so nows not the time anyway. I hope it works out for your sister though. But she is going to be the exception to the rule. I only know of 6 people out of my graduating class that got a job within a year of graduating college.

  • thanks for the update

th edownward spiral is here, the train wreck happened already, cars are just piling up

  • Good video once again. I think people need to pay close attention to areas hit the hardest first from this depression (let's call it what it is folks). It's a predictor of things to come. Unfortunately, I think this trend will impact other states much harder and faster as the money resources dry up. We need to learn and then act. I wish this country would wake up and the PEOPLE would take charge of what is supposed to belong to each of us! Assume control of basic freedoms. Is it really too late?

  • Why are you calling this a Recession?

  • As Gerald Celente said, students will need to go to community colleges.

  • Well good luck finding a seat. A typical class only has 30-40 seats. If every student went to community college instead, there would be hundreds of students per class

  • Thanks for the update DEMCAD.

  • as long as you tell me where it is so I can take your supplies and add to mine :-)

  • Alaska is great for the retired and married.

  • bank of america 8 $ and citi group 4 $

and nikkei 2 times 5 % in week loss

    mmmmmm

  • Yeah, Michigan sounds horribly affected by the depression long before anywhere else started to feel it at all. Think how bad it will get there. WOW

  • Sorry, but that is nonsense. The amount of people that will go into college will decrease for sure.

  • Right. And the fact is, there is few jobs for traditionally college educated graduates. The few jobs are not paying much!
