The McCoy family lived 20 miles northwest of downtown L.A. which means the value of their land went through the roof in about 1965. They sold out to Northrup, which built a factory to build F4 Phantom jets. First thing the McCoys did, they got Grandpa a decent suit.
Actually, it was retitled "THE McCOYS" when CBS scheduled daytime repeats of the series when first-run episodes began airing on the network in the fall of '62; the custom at the time was to retitle a series for daytime or syndicated repeats while the original was still airing in prime-time (i.e. "THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW" as "ANDY OF MAYBERRY" on CBS daytime from '64 through '68). "THE McCOYS" continued to appear in syndication through the '70s- the original title was restored some years ago.
"The Real McCoys"--{For the 1961-1962 season}On Thursday Nights at 8:30 PM{et-Right after "The Donna Reed Show, 8:00 PM et}was a sitcom, as we can see on the life of a mountain family.
It was simply renamed "The McCoys" in it's final season, which was on CBS by then{1962, ending it's whole series run in 1963}.

They killed of Kate and Hassie disappeared after about season three or four. I used to watch this in reruns as a child.

Interesting to see the A.B.C.. lowercase letters on this promo, which came out in I think the late '50s.
