  • Awesome! You've definitely taught me something. How to put them in, and put oil in the hot water. I usually just use hot water, no oil. Thanks alot!

  • whats the differ btw individuals and micros??

  • i like ur voice

  • wish i could braid my own hair

  • What brand of hair did you use?

  • @Kardashian1011 I will try to remember to do one when my hair is in braids again :)

  • i love your hair :)

how long did you dip it ?

i plan on doing my hair the same way this weekend since i do my own hair.

  • @aazya97 I just dip it in the water quickyly I actually did it just like in the video ... i dont leave the hair in the water long...

  • @jazzybee445 thanks (=

  • is there a limit on how hot the water should be before dipping...? like will it melt the hair?

  • @1andonlybabyt As far as I know the hair will not melt however I have never gave it much thought. I just put the kettle on the fire and wait until it wistles and then pour it into a large pot.... Ive never heard of the hair melting... just make sure not to burn yourself thats all... its important to have a towel to keep any water from splashing on your skin

  • Nice video

  • @TheNeeuqnozama Thank you! :)

  • Why do u use gel???????????

  • @2Young2GiveADamn I used to yuse gel because it helped my braids to stay need while I was braiding. However I now use shea butter

  • Perfect demo - I could see and understand very clearly what you did and how to do the braids so they don't fall out. Thanks - I'm gonna try it!

  • @blenellchaney Thank you! so gald I could be helpful! let me know how it works out and if you ever have any questions!

  • They re gorgeous and you are a hair saver ! lol

  • @ChocolateDropStylist :) thank you!

  • wat is that song in he bginning it sounds like Carl Thomas.

  • @Bzgurl85 it is :) its called hey now

  • i want my hair done like this so bad but i dont know anyone who will do it

  • @madisonavnue try doing it yourself! Its easy to get the hang of. BUT it will take a while your first time, especially if you have alot of hair!

  • @JAZZYBEE445 did this make ur hair grow longer? did u do it tight>

  • @Simplyfearless16 Nope didnt do it tight at all. and I believe that braids are great protective styles when used properly. You just have to remember to still take care of your hair while they are in. I have a video on how to take care of your hair while in braids, check it out when get a chance! :)

  • you made attaching this to your own hair look super easy.

  • @godsflame2 :) thank you

  • wow you did a real good job!!!i wish i could do my hair like that!!!

  • @sweetlady1218 you can :) just give it a try one day!

  • Wow you have a lot of patience...BTW you had me rocking out to D Angelo.

  • Wow you have a lot of patience...BTW you had me rocking out to D Angelo.

  • @makingthebook2 lol its so funny because I have all the patience in the world to do this kind of stuff but for most real world situations I fall short on patience... But yea doing it urself saves money;-)

oh and I love d'angelo I had to put him in this vid! :-) thanks for watching and commenting!

  • y the baby oil n the water? just wondering does it cut down the frizz time

  • @TheSexxyno1 Well the hair that i am using is very dull looking so I like to use the oil to make it look glossy or have a tiny bit of shine. dipping on its on can help with frizz (i think...)

  • @jazzybee445 o ok thank. cause i do these braids all the time and im really trying to find a way to cut down on that frizz that happens at the ends.. so thanks again

  • do you have to add the synthetic hair at the root? can you just start adding midway?

  • @wigwambam well i have done that before when I used to do cornrows.. but im not sure how it would turn out if you did it all over.... I mean its possible...

  • You did an amazing job! I think im gonna hit up the hair supply and braid it up! Thanks for the inspiration :)

  • @thsongstress Aww thank you! :-) glad to be of inspiration! :-) lol

  • I have a feeling somebody already asked this but what kind of hair did you use and how much did it cost

  • @BlackBarbiee184 lol its cool. The hair I used in this video is called "Black 'n' Gold" and i usually get the one that is called silky its in a silver package. However since i end up dipping the hair it really doesnt matter if it is the silky hair or not.

  • Wow this is so pretty and neat. I bett the takedown process is tiresome, I wish I could wear these!

  • @NapturalJas lol you are right! the take down process is pretty exaushting! but i just suck it up lol because wearing braids allows me the freedom of not having to really mess with my real hair for long periods of time. You should give them a try! :-)

  • Ciao! sono ancora italiani ragazza:)) .... Mi è venuta in mente qualcos'altro ...

dopo aver trecce chiuse con acqua calda e olio, di rimuoverli senza gettare i tuoi capelli si puo 'fare? :)

grazie per essere cosi 'gentile! :)))))

  • Yazzy @ HELLO! Thank you very much for your response! The lighthouse is the first time 'Braids ....

Kanekalon before you buy, try and try and try with other synthetic hair of a wig! I get the anger behind Just Because I find it hard to see ... I have bad mirrors! Both if you tell me that do not see anyone behind, then maybe I'm 'more' quiet! I Had not thought of this ...

I'll let you 'know the disaster!

PS: I hope my English is correct ... use automatic translator!

  • LOL That's funny! Can't wait to see the video. Thanks for getting back to me. This is so helpful. Now I can get my braids done and not have to worry. LOL

  • How do you wash your hair in braids without it becoming frizzy? Every time I get braids it becomes very frizzy after the first wash. Then it looks a mess and I have to take them out before I've had them in 2 weeks. Please help. LOL

  • @MzHypnotiq27 I think it is sooo funny you have asked this lol because i literally just finished editing a video yesturday where I answer this lol and said the exact same thing you said about not liking to because of the frizz (however i editied the frizzy part out because i started going off topic lmbo) anyways when i have my hair in braids i dont usually like to wash because of frizz HOWEVER (lol ) you can avoid this by using witch hazel on ur scalp.-- (continued) ..

  • @MzHypnotiq27 ...(continued)... witch hazel is a natural astringent that can help remove build up from the scalp you can just put some one a cotton ball and rub it along your part area. I will up load the video i was talking about today (i think) but yea if i dont have witch hazel i just go ahead and clean my scalp with water and shampoo or conditioner and i try to only stay in my scalp and not move down the braids then i tie my braids up to help smooth the frizz (if that makes since... )

  • Hello! is an Italian girl and I'm writing from Italy right ...

you did a beautiful video !!!!! I really want to try to make me alone the braids!

I have a question .... how did you to divide your hair back?

    Kiss!

  • @babba446 Hey! :-) Thank you ! for the hair in the back I part with my fingers and occasionally check to make sure I am doing them somewhat straight with a mirror. I dont really concern myself anymore with the straightness of the parts back there because no-one will ever see them. More recently I have been just grabing small pieces of hair that feel about right and making sure there arent any stray hairs with my fingers and just braiding it up. Please let me know if I answered your question :-)

  • Are u making a knot?

  • @sxyj230 hey! with this hair you don't have to make a knot at the end. But in general no I'm not making one.

  • @jazzybee445 Hi! I really love the hair style! I'm going to try to do them! can you het them wet? Great Jib and your hair looks AMAZING!

  • @rainbowcupcake411 hey! Thank you! Yes you can get them wet and they still look good after. Once you get the hang of it braidimg gets really easy good luck!

  • those r super longgggg ..&& good job :]

  • @Anaaa1224 lol yea they are I have yet to learn how tto cut braids myself so have come to terms with long braids. Lol but thanks love!

  • how can i make sure that the root is tight enough so it wont slip out? and do you use the same technique for the back or your hair?

  • @jolidiamantnoir well the way that i braided my hair in the video is the way I braid all over my entire head. The method that I showed has been able to lock the hair onto my hair and not cause slipping. I dont braid the same way others do because i taught myself and the way that I braid is the only way that is easiest for me and works best for me.. but there are other methods... so if you find that by doing your braids this way it keeps slipping try another method to see what workds best for you

  • Good job! Thanks for your help!

  • @GirlfromCarolina Thank you!! :-)

  • @NickiMinajIsAHooker No its cool! :-) I dont mind answering your questions! but i dont sell it :(... It's so easy to make tho! So if you ever feel like making any let me know how it goes and feel free to ask anything if you have a question!

  • @NickiMinajIsAHooker Hey girl! This gel was surprisingly easy to make because all you have to do is get some flax seeds (which are super cheap like $2 a lb) and you put them in a pot and let them boil and the water turns into a gel. :-[ Im a little embarrased to say but I have never used the gel as a styling aide for ponytails and stuff. I have only ever used it for my braids when I put them in..So i wouldnt know how long it holds that way. But naptural85 she uses it and it seems to hold well.

  • @NickiMinajIsAHooker Hey! Thank you so much for watching! :-) Yes I made the gel myself, it is called flax seed gel :-) it is very easy to make you should try it out! :-) there is a great tutorial on how to make it from naptural85... Yea i dont understand why i always fall back on braids when I now can do so much with my own hair. I think it is a habit that I have and it allows me to be lazy with my hair and still look nice... Thank you so much for the lovely comment! :-)

  • I used to pay to have these done..$120 CAN, every 2 months for 4 years :( I'm so glad that you have been so generous to post this video, thank you :) I have been natural since Feb 2008, and did not know how to style my own hair, so I thank you for helping people like myself out to gain some self-knowledge :) All the best, I have subscribed and plan to keep watching!!

  • @anyomay AWW :-) I am so happy to help you out! If you EVER have a question or need help with anything I will be more then happy! Thank you SOO much for subscribing to my channel and I hope to be of some help as you continue with your hair journey! I know I am just recently discovering all that I can do with my hair and plan to share as much as I can with my subbies! :-) I used to pay soooo much to get my hair braided also! So i know exactly how you feel! :-) Thanks for watching!

  • Thank you. You just don't know how much you have helped me! Your hair looks good.

  • @MrzThang100 aww:-) im glad I have helped! Thank you for watching! and feel free to ask if you have questions...

  • do u remember what type of hair u used in this video....

  • Hey gadamned123! i used the silky black n' gold Kanokelon hair. It's the really cheap hair that i think can be found at most beauty supply stores... If they dont have the silky the regular kind will turn out the same after you dip them1 :) hopefully this was helpful

  • Thank you so much Jazzy, it helped a lot!!!! I'll have 2 send you a pic of my hair when I do it! Take care sweetie and be blessed!!!!

  • @GODDESS9723 AWW! Definitely send me a picture!! I would looove to see how they turned out! and thank you so much for being so sweet! :)

  • can u use only hot water when dipping?

  • @ATS80 as far as I know yea... I've never heard of any other way... the hot water sets the braids so that it doesn't unravel..

  • @ATS80 nvm I think I read your question wrong. Yes you can only use hot water.. you don't need the oil.. I only use the oil because it makes my braids look polished... but it is not necessary to use the oil.

  • Hey Jazzy, I absolutely love these braids. I am considering doing my hair like this for an upcoming trip. I have watched the vid but I would like to know what you did when you got to the ends, did you knot them or did you just leave them or put glue to make them stay?

  • @GODDESS9723 thank you! :) dipping the braids in hot water causes the braids to set and thus they don't unravel. So with the hair that I used you don't need to tie the knot at the end. There is a synthetic hair, the kind that curves at the end, that you need to either knot or glue but I didnt use that kind in this video.... when your braiding with this hair braid past where ur hair ends to ensure that it will stay together while you finish the rest of your hair... hopefully this helps... :-/

  • did you do your whole head?? and how long did it take

  • @1997hollistergirl yup i did my whole head it took me 8 hours

  • What type of hair did you use and how many packs?..love the video!

  • @BriSymone7 hey! I used black n gold 100% kanokelon hair. And I used 2 packs :) thank you for watching!

  • What is the music in the background? Not "You're My Baby" though...

And what type of hair did you use that you dipped in hot water and baby oil?

Okay, you can disregard the previous question about the hair type...I see IN YOUR TITLE that you used synthetic hair. LOL...my apologies!!! :)

    Reading is fundamental

  • @romeyswife Lmbo! It's cool girl! The song is "hey now" by Carl Thomas... :)

  • @jazzybee445 LOL, I was having a slow moment. :)

I'm thinking of doing this style on my daughter's hair. I have had issues w/micro braids before...example: they have unraveled, had many fly-aways, etc. So any additional tips you have would be much appreciated. :)

  • @romeyswife hey girl! :) alright so here are some tips that i hope will be helpful (if not let me know if you have any questions and i'd be happy to answer ) so dipping the hair also helps keep it from unraveling, if you get like regular synthetic braiding hair... otherwise you have to do the slip knot (i show how to do this in my videos where im putting in human hair braids). In order to help prevent fly aways or hair that pokes out i use a sticky product to help keep the hair smooth as i braid

  • @romeyswife Im trying to think of other tips lol... but im not getting any where so yea if you have other questions feel free to ask! :)

  • What is the music in the background? Not "You're My Baby" though...

And what type of hair did you use that you dipped in hot water and baby oil?

  • What is the music in the background?

  • How long did you keep the hair in the hot water to get it silky straight ?

  • @JayeFabulous it actually doesn't take long at all. Just dip each section in the water twice and they should be silky straight. :)

  • How lont do you keep them in for?

  • @ladyen7 I usually keep my braids in for 2 months. I redo two rows in the front when I have had them in for a month so that the weight of the hair doesnt pull down on my edges once it has grown out some... :) This set i kept in for about 2 months...

  • You did an Awesome job!!! :) Thank you for sharing.

  • @taahmakay and THANK YOU for watching! :) Im glad that it has been able to help (hopefully! :-D )

  • why do you use the gel? :). to keep the hair down firm..make it have a firm hold and reduce slippage or does it have any effect on reducing breakage?

  • @tdottchickk hey! I use the gel because it keeps all the stray pieces from sticking out of the braid and helps my braids not look frizzy. Basically it makes your braids look smoother. Depending on what kind of gel or glaze i use it helps me have a firm hold onto my hair when I braid. As far as breakage I use the flaxseed gel (which can be made at home) because it moisturizes my hair. I used to use regular gel but ive stopped because it dries my hair. Also shea butter pomade is great to use also.

  • @tdottchickk (continued) I have a recipe for shea butter pomade that I used on my last set of braids in case u are intetested. I made a video showing how,to make it and a video of me using it with some human hair braids I put in.

  • how many inches was this hair?

i looove it by the way i'm going to do this to my hair.

  • @JuJuForREAL awww! Thank you! :) im gonna say that this hair is probably 36 inches folded. Because the brand that I get is already folded in half and ready for you to use for braids. Unfolded its REALLY long like maybe 72 inches...let me know how it goes for you when you put your braids in! :)

  • great vid...carl thomas in the beginning was very soothing...it made me go and break his album out of storage. I am going to braid my daugher hair this weekend and this was very helpful.

  • @MissFroTastic Aww :) thank you im very glad it has helped you! :) @ carl thomas :) i absolutley HAVE to listen to soothing songs when i braid, it keeps me at peace and makes the time that i am braiding go by waay faster! LOL i was soo into this song singing and stuff lol i had to cut it out the vid... but its hard not to sing along with this song! its so freakin beautiful! :) Thanks for watching! :)

  • You did a great job! I want to do this, but I don't know if I have the patience. I should do it so I don't have to pay anyone. Was it hard doing the back of your hair?

  • Thank you blessedone337! u know the funny thing about me is that I can be quite impatient! Lol but I find that when it involves something that is meant to make me look good im pretty patient! Lol so the moral of the story is that you may actually end up being the same way. However you will get tired but just take a break cause if u don't ur probably not going to be too happy about the final product. :) I am a strong believer that braid wearers should learn to do their own braids it not...(cont)

  • @blessedone337 (cont.) It not only saves u money but gives u the opportunity 2 do ur braids in a way that makes u happy & n a way that protects ur hair 2 the extent u want. It also gives u the leisure to redo braids when ever u want :). Anyways to answer ur question its not hard doing the back. I will admit that your arms may start to hurt, but just rest them and ur parts may not be perfect, but I promise no one will ever see them :) I used to be a part perfectionist but ive stopped myself lol.

  • Beautiful!! How do you curl or make the hair crinkle? Would you dip them to make them straight and then do a braidout and dip them again?

  • @caramel0911 thank you! :) for crinkles you braid it up after ur done putting the braids in and dip it like I did in the vid. For curls you use rollers and dip your braids in with the rollers. For both ( crinkles and curls) make sure that you wait as long as possible before takin the braids or rollers out so they can set better. I really hope this helps! If not feel free to ask for clarification :)

  • @jazzybee445 do you think that individuals would break my hair since i have a perm/relaxer

  • Hey tamaralove13, I used to get braids all the time when I was relaxed and I never experience breakage unless o was rough when takin the braids down. You should just make sure that you keep your ends moisturized because I have heard that synthetic hair can make your hair dry which could potentially cause breakage. However when I had my braids I simply sprayed my hair everyday with either water or glycerin and that pretty much solved that problem! I really hope this helped! :)

  • @caramel0911 lol I totally meant to say crinkles the first time around not cripples lol I'm on my phone and it always auto corrects things wrong.

  • Wow Ur braids are soo nice and neat! i wanted to know how come you have to put gel doesnt it break your hair? and also i c people that use the technique of crossing the braids over b4 they put it in is there a difference in both methods? Because yours seems easier :)

  • @VanillaKeys1 hey girl! Thank you! :) so in this video I am using flax seed gel that I made at home, this gel is different then store bought gel because its moisturizing for the hair (which is what I needed because before this I was def. Using regular gel which is bad for our hair ( but I didn't know, I swear lol ) I use the gel because it helps me braid neater without a lot of stray pieces sticking out. The crossing the hair over is usually used with human hair or really short synthetic hair

  • @VanillaKeys1 (continued) I just started using a sheabutter pomade that I made to braid with because the flax seed gel took a little too long to make I will be posting the recipe for that soon. Lol but yea for me this method is easier! I mean when I was little this was how I thought myself how to braid... so it may not be the politically correct way however I've been braiding like this for years and it works and keeps my braids in lol, and it comes out nice and keeps my hair protected :)

  • What I would give to know how to braid. You got skills

  • @nichefaulkner :) thanks dear! you should try and learn ;) i promise you its not as taunting as it may seem... it just seems to take lots of patience

  • Thank you! :)

  • great video!

  • How long is the hair

  • @JayeFabulous its probably 36 inches :-/ I think... which is really long lol...

  • How do you keep them from un-raveling? I know synthethic hair has a tendency of doing that. HELP?????

  • @daneteb Well i use the black n gold silky hair (first) but when you dip the braids in hot water... like i show at the end of the video it keeps the braids together and makes its so that it doesnt unravel.. but some synthetic hair like the kind that curls over at the ends you shouldnt dip that hair you have to die a slip knot so that they dont unravel... But yea just dip the hair and it should stay :) I hope this helps girl :)

  • came out beautiful.

  • @007newnew Thank you! :)

  • very nice you have me wanting to try this out

  • @shellz2008212 Awww! thanks! you should, its a great protective style and it allows you to be lazy ;) lol while still taking care of your hair

  • Hi can you tell me what type of hair it is that you used?

  • @onecheapchic I used Black n Gold silky braiding hair, it cost like 2.99 a pack and i only needed two and 1/2 packs because i use less hair than most people...

  • You did a very good job! Question. Do you recommend individual braids that small with synthetic hair or human (i see you also have a video with indian hair). I've always done my micro's with human hair but I love how the synthetic hair worked for you!

  • @Dsmileybface Thanks girl! :)

So to your question: I like human hair better for my edges simply because its lighter and and i can braid smaller without having to worry about my edges falling out. Now this is probably going to sound retarted but these braids were actually kinda big to me :-/.. lol but usually when i braid with synthetic hair i try to use a smaller piece of hair then the amount i braided with (if that makes since) so then the braids arent to heavy for my hair strands.

  • wooooow thats a beautiful tuturial.....thanks so much :D

  • @amandabellaful Aww :) Thank you!! :-D Im glad it was able to (hopefully help you out! :-D )

  • Your braids look very nice. I hope you can leave them for a while.

  • @TheNettie2010 Thank you! I hope so too :) !

  • Great video!!!!!! Love the braids!!!!!

  • @jmcnprncss thanks girl!! :)

  • I love them!! I wish I could do that!! I can't braid and synthetic hair kills my own. Human is a small fortune too:( Keep them as long as you can! You're beautiful!!

  • @OurLadyLourdes Awww! Thanks girl! your verrry beautiful as well! but its really easy to braid.. :) just in case you ever want to learn!

I already want to take them out :( because i miss playing with my hair... However, thats what a protective style is for right.... *sigh*

  • aww thanks sis!

  • Love your Braids! They look really nice :)
