  • he would have died if harvick wasn't there

  • 1:03 BODY SLAM!

  • Aren't these guys professional drivers....how are they still crashing?

  • @spookon3s Why do professional football players and basketball players get hurt? aren't they professional too???

  • Ryan Newman seems to alaway's flip at the superspeedway's.

  • Most dangerous race?????

dont think so. The TT were i live is by far the most dangerous.

  • Kevin's like "Oh you motherfu-

    BAM!

  • help me jesus, help me oprah, help me tom cruise.use your witch craft to get this fire off me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 1:03 Kevin was probably like "HOLY SHIIIIT!!!!!"

  • Auto racing(any form)

  • Comment removed

  • Moto GP and Poker are the most dangerous

  • Had newman not had so much bad luck in his career, he would have easily had a championship by now.

  • I was at this race, sitting in the first row, right across from the last pit. You could hear a pin drop from the time Harvick landed until he climbed out of the car.

  • I wanted to quote something from talledega nights lol Can't remember anything

  • WTF is a Ruff? Stupid Punch.

  • NASCAR

  • Most dangerous sport is playing checkers with Chuck Norris

  • 0:17

The front fender of the car is standing up by itself on the right side of the screen.

    LOL. Weird

  • i think the indy cars r more dangerouse cause u r way more vulnurable and the cars get worse air than nascar cars

  • it just had to be my favorite driver

  • @narutofan730 if you look at his future in restrictor plate races, you shouldnt of been suprised! i hate that for ryan though, so much talent but besides the 08 win, nothing but flipping!

  • i was suspost to meet Newman n my hometown during one of the biggest dirt track races he made the chase instead harvick showed 4 him

  • lol he sais on it roughlololololol

  • Dumb redneck 0:33 "quite a bit of damage on that car" REALLY!?!

  • lol at 0:31 when the commentator says "quite a bit of damage to that car." i was thinking, "NO REALLY? it flipped 2 and a half times i didnt notice." lol

  • i was there to see him land on his lid!

  • ok, will do, thanks :)

  • nascar had self pwnage cause they made the mojority of the race single file with there no bumping in the turns and the 2 flips in the racehad nothing 2 do with bumping in the turns so all nascar accomplished was poing all there fans and showung themselfs up

  • i was their

  • Spotter: You OK

    Ryan: Yeah

    elkinsinbox: Gosh that was terrible.

  • I was at that race. He was upside down for at least 15 minutes or longer before he was cut out.

  • Yeah, the safety crews did a pathetic job getting him out. I was shocked by how long it took.

  • Nascar IS one of the most dangerous sports/events, w/e you wanna call it, dont matter to me, but it is all also the safest. Meaning there alot of safety put into it.

  • massa acident was not nice

  • f1 now the rules have changed there is no re fueling crash and explosion so more deaths in motor sport maybe we will see

  • Rally and Moto GP, In 2003 he suffered the same accident. If you see the problem are those flaps that activate when the car crash. When the car is going backwards they work as a wing.

  • nascar isnt the most dangerous sport, marbles is lol

  • Ryan spent more than 6 minutes trapped upside down in that thing

  • haha thanks. glad ppl still think the sport it like that...wouldnt want people like you in it.

  • "ruuf"

  • I always was concerned on how full-proof those windshields really are? Nice to see nothing bad came out of it.

  • why does this video have negative ratings?

  • I was wondering that too

  • ....just a little reminder....please move the mouse out of the screen next time...

...i thougt mine was broken.. :)

  • i agree tht nascar has crazy safety in cars but the crashes are the most craziest ever! like go watch this nascar blowover compilation on youtube ull see how crazy it is.

  • What about Formula 1? They do not have any rooftops. But I agree that NASCAR has crazy safety and crashes are crazy aswell.

  • a formula 1 car is alot safer than nascar. f1 drivers will even survive a head on crash into the tire wall doing 300km/h(180mph).

  • No, If anything there about tied with the NASCAR car being a little bit safer, just by the simple fact that it has a roof. drivers survive 180mph crashes all the time in NASCAR, with a much smaller risk of being hit in the head with something, But I'll give it to you that F1 is a safer style of racing, because there might be one crash worth talking about the next day a year in F1, whereas in NASCAR there's usually at least one or two spectacular crashes a race.

  • i dont think so. how much does nascar spend on safety and how much f1 ? plus f1 cars are made out of carbon fibre, are nascars ? f1 drivers helmets are alot stronger than any roof of a nascar, and their cars have roll bars high above their heads

  • Does it matter how much they spend? Intrusion or crush related injuries have been pretty much a non-issue for quite some time now, in both sports, Nearly all of the most resent fatalities in both sports have been due to head/neck injuries. I know F1 has nice helmets and roll bars, but so does NASCAR. The bottom line is your more likely to be hit in the head in a car with no roof. Ask Felipe Massa.

  • yes i got to give you that

  • "Ask Felipe Massa. "

    And Henry Surtees. Oh....wait...Fuck...

  • yikes!!!

  • Hockey?

  • I agree, extremely dangerous...but I don't consider racing a "sport".

  • Racing is a sport .. All the rest are games.....

  • Word

  • Sport: "Any athletic activity that uses physical skills, often competitive."

Anyone who knows anything about racing knows that all forms o racing meet that definition. So I'd say it's a sport.

  • NOTE: Everything I say from now on, is just for the sake of a debate. I am not a hater and I have nothing against racing.

Now... I don't see the "physical skills" that are required in car racing. Horse racing, maybe...but driving cars? I'm no expert, and maybe you are. So just tell me what physical skills are required.

  • I'll use my DIRECT experience to explain. That experience is: 10 races in old CART(Indy) cars with one win, now testing in preparation for SCCA CSR.

Racing at the limit in a CART car subjects one to almost 4 lateral Gs. Meaning you're being pulled to the side by a force equivalent to nearly four times your body weight. It requires much physical exertion to fight those forces AND keep control of the car as the Gs try to rip your hands of the wheel and your feet off the pedal. (continued below)

  • On an oval, the G-forces can be even worse because they're nearly constant - on road courses you get a few seconds to recover on a regular basis.

To put the severity of the Gs into perspective, back in 2001 CART tried to race at Texas Motor Speedway. Because of how fast the CART cars were(compared to IndyCars), the drivers began suffering from G-LoC(G-force induced Loss of Consciousness) due to the G-forces. They had to cancel the race on safety grounds.

  • As for NASCAR, I believe the current cars pull just over 2Gs(someone correct me on that if I'm wrong, please) in the corners, which is still pretty significant(my CSR can pull 2.5G), particularly when combined with how hot it gets inside those cars. Even the cooling suits many drivers use haven't always been able to save them from heat exhaustion during a race.

It takes a pretty tough guy physically(AND mentally) to fight off this stuff. It's not like driving down the highway.

  • I was actually ordered by my doctor to stop racing the CART car(we were already considering putting an end to that on account of cost, though). He was worried I would damage my neck if I kept it up since I'm not as tough as the professionals who do it for a living.

  • Well ok, you proved me wrong...it obviously IS some hard work and physical strain. But I still don't consider it a sport....HAHA just kidding! You obviously know your stuff, so you were probably right in the first place.

  • It helps a lot to understand when you've been a direct participant. Sometime you encounter people who don't buy the explanation and I've in the past challenged such people to try it themselves(there are plenty of organizations that'll give you a ride or even let you DRIVE a proper racecar), and nobody who's taken up the challenge has ever continued to believe driving a racecar requires no physical exertion.

Glad I could help clear things up for you.

  • The most dangerous "sport?" Either NASCAR or that plane racing crap lol

  • Or bull riding...you can break a rib in a second on that one

  • daaaayum that man is a beast

  • Thanks for the video.

  • when that car started to flip he must of shit his pants

  • NASCAR is the MOST dangerous sport? Hmm.... No. Very dangerous for certain, but I'll still say the Red Bull Air Race World Series is more dangerous.

And if I wanted to be an asshole I could list more, but I'm just poking a bit of fun. If there's one thing NASCAR does well, it's building safe racecars. I watched this live and was a tad freaked out for a bit. Good to know he walked away.

  • I agree most dangerous sport is for sure is Chess.

  • CHESS?! I think dust collecting.

  • @JulianBreslin ya if your opponent gets mad he will pick up your king and stab your eye out

  • epic dude

  • woh looks hectic :S
