@Cheyhughey From the comments I read, people were saying that this was Galliano's final collection. I believe the makeup may be making a statement about the designer, more so than the girl he designed for. It could be dark because it's representing Galliano's demise from the House of Dior.

wow that was maybe one of the best Dior shows ive seen in a long while. Honestly, when i watched the spring summer collection for 2011, i had almost lost all hope for dior, but this show just amazed me. I love how gothic and dark the fashions were, and the makeup and hair; drop dead gorgious! Aylso, most of the clothes were pretty wearable, but with a hint of that haute couture flair. I especially loved the closing outfit. Simply stunning how the lights hit it!
