  • beautiful song. just like himself <3

  • Sounds so much like Elvis.

  • Comment removed

  • Love it....this song gets me wiggling, toes tapping, grooving my head around......not every song needs to be epic to be fun !

  • Paul invented Beatboxing!!!!

  • Paul McCartney N Chuck Norris were walking on the same side walk but when it came down to who was to get out of who's way chuck stepped aside

  • I'm sorry and I dont mean to troll or insult, but how is this a good song? I mean this is a horrible song. In my opinion one of the worst macca songs. It keeps repeating the same thing for 2 1/2 minutes. Im the biggest macca fan ever, and I dont like this song alot, or even a little. Can someone explain what is enjoyabe about this song? In my opinion it could have been a very bad bootleg, lol.

  • @yourtwistedable Well I guess you would have to be a musician to understand. The bass line is groovy and the country influence on the guitar is tasty. And how much different were the 95 percent of beatles songs that had 3 chords and were two and a half minuets long? So you claim to be the biggest fan? No, I don't think you are if you can't see some good in every song. So in my opinion, your opinion sucks :) lol

  • @ryleedevincent dont get all insulting and defensive, geez. I was just saying. Im not talking about the chords, im talking about the song itself, the enjoyment of it, and complexity of it. By the way im a huge mccartney fan, check my page, and im a musician. I play guitar, piano, bongos, and sing. No need to get insulting over my statement & opinion.

  • @yourtwistedable HA ha! take it easy man! I didn't insult you, I guess your opinion just doesn't make any sense then. I just think there are way more songs McCartney wrote that were much more horrible. Huge fan myself, not much with out his team though. God bless

  • @yourtwistedable idiot

  • @bruce369able ur an idiot. i dont see how a persons opinion makes them an idiot. i really dislike stupid comments like this

  • @yourtwistedable That is your opinion. I have a different one. It is really only a snippet of a song repeated but it has a groove man!

  • @jimidee33 thats what u should have said

  • Great Song! Even better than "Why Don't We Do It in the Road?"

  • reminds me of do it in the road. i bet written same day. Paul was something this is one of my fav albums of all time its a great musician naked with a drum recording with out production after all the George Martin polishing was big balls stuff BRAVO PAUL the best Its like you here with me when i listen thanks for sharing Tim
  • Noone can polish a turd like Paul McCartney can!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY

  • @michaellovelotr Sixty-nine years old and still rocking the world.

  • that would be somethin, it really would somethin, to meet ya in the fallin rain momma, meetya inthe fallin rain

  • jack white...

    white house

  • This song holds passion for me. My musician boyfriend sang it to me once back in the 80s and it has been an anchor thirty something years later. A touchstone for love.

  • Loved him since 1963, and not just because he's cute.

  • A reminder for the younger fans here --- On this album (not CD) Paul did all the vocals and all played all the instruments.

  • Love bubble gum? U love Paul OK George poor to average voice with Richards, Clapton unique sound, excellent guitarist, wrote adult too spiritual 4masses. John lyrical genius of “serious” adult themes all credits say “Lennon McCartney”. We know Paul corroborates who wrote the majority of which song and what part if any the other contributed. Paul wrote his best with John all average goodwork after, it’s all known now. Bubble gum (generally) or “Give Me Some Truth” OK Rhythm guitar John’s love

  • reminds me of napoleon dynamite, playing paper mario as a kid, and summer fun with friends :) don't ask me why

  • @CLAYDUDES1 PEDRO FOR PRESIDENT!!!

  • He is so sexy. :(((

  • raw and humble song, but George Harrison praised with along with Maybe I´m Amazed in some 1970 interview, so it´s probably not bad :-)

  • Comment removed

  • @MichalFokt you can't tell that it's "not bad" on your own? lol

  • @tagyoureitfatty my comment was meant as an answer for some people here who say this song suck, because George is probably more an authority than me :-)

  • @MichalFokt I don't see how anyone can say this song sucks when it so obviously does not suck!

  • @MichalFokt haha yeah i get what you mean. man, how could people say this sucks?? :P thats crazy....

  • His voice is sooo amazing, so manly

Bloody hell, i love that man =)

  • Paul isn't a great drummer, singer, guitarist or bass player but what he can do is produce some of the greatest pieces of music - you don't need to be the worlds greatest , but you do need to have emotion and feeling

  • @TheAndyhm You just said everything! Even though I'm a beatlemaniac, I have a huge respect for Paul and for what he produces by himself.

  • @TheAndyhm

Paul Mccartney is not a great Bass Player? Maybe not the greatest bass player ever. But please, not a great Bass Player?? He was also a better Guitarist than the other Beatles. I think that is evident from their solo careers. Agree?

  • @jake1052003 noo cmon you gotta admit that george was a better guitarist than paul. but yeah, hes a great bass player for sure

  • @tagyoureitfatty I stand by my statement. Paul Mccartney was the best guitarist on the beatles. The most talented "musician" of the group. Not the best Lyricist Obviously. John Lennon was one in a million. The two of them together was a gift of the gods! No one was in their league. Lastly, John suffered more with-out Paul, Than Paul with-out John. Agree?

  • @jake1052003

i actually think paul and john are equally good at writing songs. In the mid 60s id say john was better but in the late 60s paul generally wrote better songs than john did. Even in their solo careers, i think paul did better (even though john didnt have as much time to accomplish all that paul did)... anyway, i love them both. They were both amazing musicians.

  • @tagyoureitfatty Amen brother.

  • @jake1052003 *sister lol

  • @tagyoureitfatty That is funny. I tought only guys are crazy beatles fans like myself.

  • @jake1052003 Oh jesus, no, I think there would be much more crazy girls xD

  • @jake1052003 Totally agree with you here. Paul's lead-solo on Harrison's 'Taxman' is simply searing!!

  • @tagyoureitfatty for me...George was da man on lead.... his work on 'Something" and "Here Comes The Sun" is untouchable....name me a better backbeat guitarist than John Winston Lennon?? and Paul on bass ... please... Bruce comes the closest and he's still light years behind our Paul...

  • @jake1052003 Sorry, cant agree with that one. George knew styles that Paul could only hope to know. Paul's all around musicianship was unbelievable, and his mastery of the bass was untouchable, but George could play anything on guitar, anything. Now personal preferrence can come into play here, and you obviously prefer Pauls guitar style. Nothing wrong with that, he was damn good, probably better than John. But Ive seen and heard George do some amazing stuff. Paul never got credit for his...

  • @RojotheRed I think you're both right. Paul SHREDS on Taxman...George wanted him to play on that song for whatever reason...but head to head...George was untouchable....love his playing.

  • @oldmanmyers You are right. I think that George was so very serious about his craft, that he explored so many different styes. The thing about the Beatles that always impressed me the most, was their high standards. These guys refused to release any crap. Therefore, it can be hard to determine who was best at what. If it fit, and it worked, it was used. No matter who played it. That's part of the reason that we, at this late date, still love them so very much. Of course there was George Martin..

  • 'Meet ya in the fallin' rain' is what he's saying. Met him once in the rain myself, once upon a time!

  • Preach in the falling rain ? yeah momma...

  • hes looking very good on this picture :)

  • There should be a love button.......

  • While my eternally beloved John dismissed the entire McCartney album as "rubbish" I heard George doing an interview on it and although he expressed some disappointment that there weren't any other kick ass musicians on it which he considered a mistake on Paul's part, he did admit that he thought two tracks were "great". The two tracks were "Maybe I'm Amazed" and "That Would Be Something". So chew on that you "That Would BE Something" detractors!

  • haha two people were drunk and missed the 'i like this' button

  • mccartney music made me pass through bad times in a easier way... made me feel better

  • All of these songs in this "Mc Cartney" album sound lonely and simple. But fantastic anyway. Maybe it's fit the mood he had just after break-up with the Beatles.

  • I love Paul even more after each song I hear by him.

  • love, love, love this song

  • Where did you get this photo of him from? id like to know

so i can draw this for my project in Art :D

  • love that pic of him!

  • Paul can sing like a rockstar rough and loud or as sweet as an angel- his talent is unlimited

  • @4FabBEATLES not so much anymore but in the 60's and early 70's he could

  • Chimbo65 you took the words right out of my mouth,Paul sounds like Elvis. There are some songs he sounds like Little Richard.

  • perfect album

  • I remember listenimg to this album over and over on a simple record player when I was in high school

great to rediscover this or more so, to resurrect it from the conciousness

  • Rubbish.

  • i thawt paul was awesome before this song but now he invented beat boxing! he is a legend!

  • Something about this song is simply addicting to me. Its utter simplicity is complemented by the catchy nature and Paul's beautiful writing in general. Everything he does is a masterpiece.

I realize that Paul is clearly well-known among the world, but I wonder how many people know how truly amazingly talented he is. One of the greatest songwriters of the past hundred years.

    You're a genius, Paul. A true genius.

  • Yeh Mama, that would be something....to meet you again....even if it was in the falling rain!! One day Mama.....I pray to God that we will meet again....even if it is in the falling rain: THAT WOULD REALLY BE SOMETHING!!!!

Paul thanks for all your wonderful songs! Keep going lovely man! Paul I love you!!!!

    Love from Holland xxx Patty

  • I adore the drumming in this. No sarcasm.

  • @kkknoxskorner actually, Paul was an acceptable drummer....he played drums on Dear Prudence, Ballad of John & Yoko and back in the USSR

  • @inkey2 He was an adequate drummer, but he repeats himself often. You can tell he hasn't learned any new drumming material from albums like 'Memory Almost Full' where he play most of the instruments himself.

I really do like how he toms it in this track though.

  • @kkknoxskorner yeah, like I said paul is an ok drummer, not great but he is ok. I guess we can't expect him to be a genius at everything

  • This is definitely my favorite album of his. There's this certain..I don't know, rawness to it. The fact that he did all of this in his home in Scotland with nothing but lindas background vocals and instruments all played by him is amazing to me. Makes me wish he went in his own like his more often.

  • The new U-Tube SUX.........

  • This is Paul's best work lyrically!

    /sarcasm

  • The McCartney or Cherries album is a great one with great individual sound, somehow I never purchased it even though I have most all the others.

  • Love the individual note sound, his deep voice, very simple lyrics of course, at times it sounds as much like Elvis as it does Paul, I think maybe he was going for an Elvis sound.

  • Love the individual note sound, his deep voice, very simple lyrics of course, at times it sounds as much like Elvis as it does Paul, I think maybe he was going for an Elvis sound.

  • if you listen to this song you'll hear paul doing rap sound effects.this was 40 years ago.paul and the beatles started "everything " pertaining to today's music.i hope the younger generation never forgets this group of geniuses

  • Deja mucho que desear. Es una mala cancion digan lo que digan. Eso refleja la baja creatividad y la perdida de talento de Paul McCartney despues de separarse de los beatles o dicho en ingles: Leaves much to be desired. It's a bad song whatever they say. This reflects the low loss of creativity and talent of Paul McCartney after the Beatles split

  • @abogadopenalista jasajsaksjkasaksjak pobre pendejo aprende a escuchar el talento de Sir Mccartney ..i.. -.-" .i..

  • What is this? Lady googoo? who's she? a loon? someone who has no talent but nice legs?? STOP! Don't degrade real talent.... thanks

  • beautiful but so spare! genius!

  • Thanks!

  • shut up about gaga already its about paul mccartney....this song is amazing great effects wit his voice haha unique style

  • Why is everyone talking about Lady Ga Ga? Her voice is probably so digitally enhanced, that it's not even her voice anymore. She does not deserve to even be mentioned in the same breath as The Beatles. Love you Paul!!

  • JEE. Ihanaa kuulla taas tämä. Nuoruus on ihanaa aikaa.

  • Here's why I love this album

    - It shows off Paul's huge musicality, not only because he plays all of the instruments and that demonstrates his great musical ability as a composer and performer, but because the production itself is small and you can hear the beautiful melodies, the voice, and the interplay between the instruments so much better than if he had taken the time to multi-track, and add effects and all that other stuff.

  • @giligara30492

    Continued ...

    - It's homey in a way that no other album of his is, except maybe "Ram," and that means that, as an artist, Paul is at his most personal level of expression here, like in "Every Night," which is basically describing his level of depression after losing The Beatles and how he relied on Linda to help him feel better.

I think that in these ways, even though some may disagree, this is a great album and a great truly solo effort.

  • hahaha beat-boxer mccartney he should make his own beat-boxin albumn...this song rocks

  • he did a nice good at b-boxing. but i wouldn't relly know cuz i don't listen to rap i listen to the best music ever, THE BEATLES. lol

  • omg! paul invented beatboxing! :) fun song

  • rite on 2 that.....hes crazy love this guy

  • @ViViii123G Everybody knows that the Beatles discovered every trend decades before they ever became trends. I heard that John Lennon invented the ipod :)

  • @josenros

    I love that comment! :D

  • @ViViii123G Not beatboxing! Beatleboxing.

  • it's cool

  • dude this song was my dads favorite song and thats the only thing i dont like about it.

  • I always thought you sounded like

    Elvis on this one Paul.

    But I love it!!

Thank you for still being here mate.

  • @Chimbo65. Fantastic sentiment, esp at the end. Macca is the fabbest of the lot!

  • @Chimbo65 no he doesnt, but yeah his voice always amaze me,he has many vocal styles, actually he is my favorite vocalist.Elvis i think is at my top5 or maybe right next after paul

  • @Chimbo65 He's always been a huge fan of the King

  • @ROVINATO

    That`s true.

And Paul even have Bill Blacks double bass in his house.

    All the best

    Chimbo

  • you can tell he really isnt a drummer, but could get a sound out of em

  • great song

  • I Should say that I also own albums like Flowers in the Dirt, but once you get into 80's McCartney, you have to begin sifting through the album to find the gems. Put it There off of Flowers in the Dirt is such a great song, but there are so many songs on Flowers in the Dirt that I wish Macca would re-record now that the 80's are over.

  • Yeah,Flowers in the dirt has awful 80's production and a few naff tracks. 'Distractions' is a nice tune tho

  • If I were to go Paul McCartney solo career shopping, I would pick up all of these albums:

    1. McCartney

    2. Ram

    3. Band on The Run

    4. Flaming Pie

    5. Run Devil Run

    6. Chaos and Creation in the Backyard

    7. Memory Almost Full

    8. Electric Arguments

And please, nobody tell me that Band on the Run is Wings and Electric Argument is the Fireman. Paul writes it all. Therefore, it's his.

  • I'd pretty much agree with your list, tho I'd add 'McCartney2' and 'Back to the egg' and put 'Electric Arguments' far higher-if he took the last few tracks off of it ,it vwould be a classic!

  • can someone recommend me the best albums of Paul's solo career? I've hardly heard any of his music.

  • Ram, Tug of war, Chaos and creation in the back yard, Flaming pie

  • And for not to mention Flowers in the dirt!

  • Not sure if anyone knows this, but this was written for the beatles, but they were breaking up, and not getting along, so paul put this on mccartney instead.

  • sounds a bit like Elvis momma?

  • I can hear him distinctly say "meet-cha in tha fallin rain "

  • I think its "To reach in the falling rain mama"

  • meet ya in the fallin rain mamma

  • I always thought its "reaching the falling rain" and in the middle of the song "meet you in the falling rain", then towards the end again "reaching the falling rain".

Because *that* really would be someting! ;-)

  • we love you paul

  • a truly genius sir macca,no other can beat his music,no one,period

  • This man is one of the most handsome and talented people on this universe.

  • maccartney is a fucking genius, the first solo album is good but gets totally eclipsed by RAM, that album is awesome, and i quite like band on the run, what a boring world it would be if we all agreed all the time!

  • and i know it's mccartney not maccartney, careless me

  • lol I get it,cause people call him Macca...Why do they?

  • Listen up, Children. I first heard this in my dorm room when the album first came out & the conventional Wisdom was that if you listen carefully, he's actually singing, "Eat cha in the fallin' rain, Mama." Bon appetit. (And THANK YOU for posting this very sexy song)

  • No actually if you look up the lyrics he says "Meet you in the falling mama" Not "Eat".Though I could be wrong.

  • Yes, I saw those lyrics. But I do think they're not quite correct.

  • Comment removed

  • love the Elvis vocal style!

  • Thanks "McCartney"

  • Ram the best solo Beatle effort? ASR10MAN you need to go out and buy 'All things must Pass' by George Harrison.

  • Yea Either All Things Must Pass, Band On the Run Or Plastic Ono Band.

  • Comment removed

  • thank you.

  • i love the beatbox on this song

  • Omg, in this pic Paul looks like so much like my brother! Really.. With the beard and the smile :o But just in this pic xD and my brother's name is Paul xDD

    love this song :) «3

  • then i'd love to meet your brother! xD

  • I love this album. After the Beatles split (I really suffered for that) it was so good to hear something that still sounded so much like The Beatles. And this song was. Great stuff.

  • I love this record, but Band on the Run and Chaos and Creation in the Backyard cannot be discounted.

  • Sure they can.

  • You're right. This was Paul's best solo album.

  • RAM is his best solo effort and the best of any Beatle!

  • I don't agree with that at all.

This first solo abum of McCarttney was by far his best, most personal album. Later on he got into his cheesy WINGS thimgs. There was so much soul in the songs on this album.

  • What???

Band on the Run is great! By far his best solo album. (It was just as much a solo effort as RAM).

  • I don't agree with you at all. Even the song Jet has some corny parts to it even though I still like that song. The only song on Band on the Run that isn't cheesy is LET ME ROLL IT.

McCartney's first solo album had a lot more soul than the cheesy wings stuff. That was his only great solo album.

If you are a fan of Wings, then enjoy your cheese.

  • The title song 'Band on the Run' isn't cheesy. And 'Let Me Roll It' isn't either. 'No Words' isn't particularly cheesy.

Some of the others are, slightly, but in a somewhat 'White Album' kind of way.

'That was his only great solo album'. You are not some kind of definitive authority. lol. I hate it when people speak as though their opinion is absolute truth.

  • Also, John Lennon, the anti-Cheese, described Band on the Run as a great album, and basically said 'McCartney I' was garbage.

  • Lennon could be wrong too at times. He said Yoko's music would be recognized as GENIUS by the 1990s.

Yes, the song BAND ON THE RUN IS lightweight fluff too.

  • Yes, I must be wrong. 'drunk3director' on YouTube is surely more authoritative than John Lennon.

John would NEVER compliment Paul unless he really felt it. Yoko is the only person his judgement is *positively* biased towards.

  • Lennon was furious at Paul when the first McCartney album came out because that is when Paul quit the Beatles. That is why he hated Paul's first album.

Lennon also said he HATED the Beatles' Pepper album. Lennon was emotional and said things he later regretted. He probably didn't want to say another negative thing about Band on the Run, or maybe he really liked it. I don't care. Except for "Let me roll it", the album is lightweight fluff, like most of Wings.

  • ha i didnt know screaming like yokos "music" could ever be popular!!!!

maccas worst or cheesiest (if there are any) songs would cream yokos music!!

  • No argument from me about Yoko's "Cry of the Banshee". She was completely awful. There was some humor in her covering herself with a potato sack on stage in 1969 in Toronto, but she wasn't trying to be funny.

That doesn't change anything about McCartney. Wings was lightweight fluff.

This first album is the only one with a soul.

  • The reason I am even posting on this youtube vid is because I really like this first McCartney album. I didn't expect to be at war with the Wings Lightweight Army of Fluff.

  • You should seriously check out Ram, then.

  • @drunk3director

Strictly speaking about the music, I think the thing about Paul is that he's a great composer. He always has a beautiful sound - always. And this is why Wings was so popular - their arrangements were just perfect and Paul's voice supreme.

In this way, then, even though Paul may be singing "And, Jet, I thought you was a Lady Suffragette," the opening musical sequence of that song and its famous backing vocals, are something that gives Wings tremendous soul - musical soul.

  • I don't agree with you. The only post-Beatles McCartney album I liked was this first one. Not talking about lyrics, I think Paul's music was just too light and so much of it was total crap. Lennon and McCartney needed each other, Neither were anywhere near as good alone as they were with The Beatles, especially Paul. Wings was often embarrassing.

  • I agree with you that John AND Paul were a million times better together, but you can't really discredit EVERYTHING Paul did after they broke up. A lot of it is nice, you've got to admit. I mean, getting 9 Solo #1's between the 70's and early 80's isn't crap. Nobody is trying that hard anymore.

I understand that you're not a Wings fan, but The Beatles were, in Paul's words, "a hard act to follow." His position in 1970 was simply that of moving on and trying to keep doing what he loved.
